Conveniently located on Sukhumvit near the malls, night-life and leisure activities like spas and massage parlors. Great staff in Cool Chili. Very fast and very friendly. The room was not ready on check-in. The receptionist could not give me an approximate time of how long I should wait. I used to live in bkk so I had no problems keeping busy for two hours but someone who had never been to the city would have been at a loss. Also, it was raining one day and I asked the desk in Tower B for an umbrella. 15 minutes later still no umbrella so I proceeded to ask again. Another 15 minutes later and still no umbrella after I was assured I would be provided an umbrella. Unfortunately the umbrella never came and I walked in the rain.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions during the past three years during leisure visits to Bangkok for the fpllowing reasons. Excellent location only minutes from Asok bts and mrt stations and a free tuk tuk service to get you there. From the Asok station it is only 6-7 minutes to the centre of Bangkok shopping area of Chidlom and Siam.Rates including a good buffet breakfast are extremely competitive and the large well equipped rooms are ideal for families. Nice views from many rooms of Lake Ratchada. Two swimming pools and finally in my view one of the strongest points - the very friendly staff from porters to receptionists to staff in the restaurant. Nothing I don't like, it is excellent value for money in Bangkok

Gym and pool, but balconies are unsafe if traveling with young children as there are large gaps in the balcony railings, we stayed on the 16th floor and it was a worry as there was no child lock on the balcony doors, our daughter is three years old Unsafe balcony for young children

It's not the best hotel in Bangkok but price/ quality wise its really good. We enjoyed this hotel very much. Friendly good English speaking staff, comfortable very clean rooms and good location! We would stay here again. The only think we thought wasn't that good was the breakfast. Fruit was a bit old and not much to choice if you don't want a warm breakfast in the morning.

The Somerset Lake Point is value for money. What we are getting in return for our money is good. My wife and me are travelling with children 17 and 11 years old therefore we booked a two bedroom apartment with two wash rooms which was adequate. All the services available are efficiently managed. We were allowed to check out till 14:00 instead of 12:00 which was good gesture considering it was saturday and they were fully booked. The hotel is generally oldish looking in almost every aspect. The decor, furnishings, washrooms etc. Space for breakfast is very crammed. The staff of restaurant serving breakfast was doing their best to accomodate but the peak season rush was too much for them. The bedrooms are quite small. The apartments have no view at all except other buildings. Biggest discomfort in staying there is that it is far away from main Sukhumvit shopping and entertainment area in a pure residential area surrounded by other similar buildings.

This is the second time we have stayed at Somerset Lake Point and were even more impressed this time. This hotel is in an excellent location, the staff are so friendly and the facilites are just amazing. The comfort of the rooms is so good as well. I cannot possibly fault this hotel in anyway. Its not really that expensive either, so its a great stay for when you visit Bangkok, I wouldnt stay anywhere else if I returned.

The Hotel has very spacious room with complete amenities. The location is not easily accessible to metro rail system though they provide transport to nearest rail station. Very good buffet breakfast was included with the room rate.

We stayed in an two bedroom appartment, which was nice, clean and spacious. Close to the hotel is a supermarket (open 24 h), with wide variety of goods. Hotel has good facilities. TheSkytrain is on walking distance from hotel (5-10 min.). Tuk-tuk from the hotel can and will bring you easily there. Breakfast is served from 5.30 - 9.30. The street from Skytrain to the hotel is not the most beautifull one. Not a problem, but good to realise: Large number of the hotel guests are islamitic, with women wearing a burka.

The hotel is in a good location, near to the shopping centers and night life as well. Al so it's 45 mins from the airport, which will cost you Approx. 200 Bht. When I checked in the room, there was no water to drink nor tea or coffee, however when I asked for them they sent them. Staff is very polite and cooperative

I liked the location although quite confusing at first. From asok station, follow the left bend of the exchange tower towards Khlong Toei road and then turn left again on Sukhumvit 16. I did not take the tuktuk anymore since it was an easy 15 min walk to the mrt. I liked the design of the hotel and the security they offered since you cant use the elevators without a room key. It was affordable and I regret not staying there longer. The only downside is that the pool is not heated. Since it was raining a lot when we stayed there, we felt cold.

The staff were very helpful, even checking us into our room 4 hours early. The bell boys were extremely helpful. Good amenities with 2 pools, sauna, etc. Rooms are quite large and have all you need from a solo person to a family stay. It is very close to the Skytrain which is great. For such a large hotel, I was very surprised and disappointed that they couldn't change currency ( even suggesting I try in another hotel?? ) The breakfast is ok, ( not great ) but it seems that the area is too small for the amount of people who stay in the hotel and so it is very very busy, sometimes not even being able to find a table. Unfortunately the hotel seems to be a haven for the Arab community ( which is no fault of the hotel, but due to unruly kids, sometimes spoilt the atmosphere )

Enjoyed ourselves during this trip, I emailed the staff a few times before the trip and all my questions were answered promptly. The location is a little off, but other than that it was perfect and beautiful. It was the best as the 5 of us could stay together in one apartment that had 2 rooms and a fully equipped kitchenette. The stay at the hotel definitely made our trip much more exciting. Just one thing - the location is not very near any station, the nearest being Asok station. But the tuk tuk that travels out doesn't even stop at the station, just nearby. Maybe this can be refined for the better of the guests.

“This is my second time stay at this hotel. Both times I also asked for late check out and the hotel fulfill my request. The staff are very friendly and willing to help. During this stay the hotel's staff remember me and this actually make me feel warm. The room I initial took was had a bad internet connection, the staff was very helpful, they even help to check other available room with good connection then I change to the new room. The room provided a big working desk and working chair which is very good for business traveler like me.” Shiun, Bangkok |

“I was travelling with a mate and we booked a 2 bedroom suite on the 28th floor. Room was in perfect condition, very clean and with a nice view of the city. The staff was very helpfull in every regard. The best thing of all though was their evening buffet (served in weekends). I have never had a better buffet anywhere. All in all I have only positive things to say.” Magnus, Kbh S |
