- staff was very helpful - free bike rental - super clean - great location
The hostel is in the city square close to all touristic places but in a quiet corner. The entrance is kind off hiden, difficult to find even for the local people, make sure you take a map with the location. The hostel is simple but you have everything you need. Clean, air condition, very nice and helpful staff. We could use the washing machine without any problem. I would definitely recommend it.
Friendly staff, quick walk into old centre, comfortable room, great price
Really nice place to chill out in Chiang Mai. Will be definitely coming back when here again. Bale was always helpful and free bicycles were great to get around the city.
Stay at the real thai style house, the owner is very nice , friendly and still young, ethusiasm, helpful and smiling person. You can use the free bike of the guesthouse.
Please note no air condition in the room.
The owner is really kind. Rooms are big and confortable.
The owner was so helpful and nice. He let us use his washing machine for laundry and there was plenty if free water in glass bottles available. There is also a kitchen that we could use.
It's a little ways away from the main street but there are bikes that we were able to use for free
The hostel is operated by Bale the owner whom is very nice and kind. He makes sure that my stay is comfortable and at home. He allows all guests to use his kitchen, bicycle, drinking water and even food. The temple is just behind Wat Phra Singh, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai and is only 5 min walk to the Sunday Night Market. Had an enjoyable stay here and will definitely come back.
The hostel is located behind a restaurant and could be difficult to locate initially. There is not much night life around this hostel (other than Sunday). The Night Bazaar is about 15 min drive away. It is very warm at night when I stayed in the room with fan.
The tara guest house is really good! It feels like home and you dont want to leave! Free coffee, tea, water and use of washing machine. You even can use free bikes to discover the city. The rooms are nice, clean and ours was really big!! The owner bale is the best! Would definately stay again!
That we had to leave! :-)
Not a formal atmosphere. Everything is made with love, as in your own home. Asian style of the house , lots of nice little detail in the Interior design, a beautiful carved furniture, wooden floors. Big kitchen with all necessary stuff. The host is very nice and friendly guy, you feel like home here.
The owner is making the guest feel at home. He's so kind, helpful and very accommodating. The environment is so relaxing and they have free bikes for the guest to go around the city easily. ;)
The owner is a very nice person who will help you as much as he can. There are kitchen, washing machine and bicycle here. The hostel is located in a quiet cultural area.
Nothing I can complain about this hostel.
friendly staff, good location
Young owner bale is amazing very friendly and helpfull, gorgeous hospitality, all days whole day free coffee and some snacks there.
Bed is bit uncomfortable .
We stayed for 7 nights and didn't want to leave! Thanks again!
great location, very friendly and helpful staff, cheap!
powercut one night (not the guesthouse fault) and no running water the day I checked out so had to travel without having a shower
Its a very good guesthouse, located in the heart of the old city.the owner is very kind, he is very very helpful.
The staff were very friendly and made us feel like we were at home. The room was basic, but great value for money. It is within walking distance to anything with downtown Chiang Mai. Great trip!
very pleasant staff especially the boy
The owner is indeed nice, but that's just not enough for a guesthouse
The room was very worn out The bed was terrible. It actually wasn't a real mattress but 3 small extra-cheap mattresses put together The room is VERY noisy, with dogs barking all night, in a room with zero noise insulation (there was duck tape holding the windows!). Not to mention that there were works in the daytime right outside our window... The room was big but that was actually not a good thing because the fan was way far from the bed, so we were boiling. Only 1 toilet and 1 shower in shared bathroom. It was $13 for a double room, and you can definitely get better elsewhere (we did on other nights in chiang Mai)
good service. nice tiny garden. quiet.
sound insulation is bad. house is old.
very friendly host mom (made delicious lunch for us), very helpful, made good suggestions, central location, cozy rooms, a place to come back!
This was a decent enough budget hostel at the top end of the old city. A brisk 15 minute walk got you to Tha Phae Gate. The owners were pleasant enough and offered tours etc without being too pushy!
The songthaew driver had no clue where it was and spent 20 minutes driving around aimlessly. The shower flooded the bathroom with every use.
March -the owner- really takes care of the guests. She is so friendly and helpful! She even took me to very nice places around the city. The house is a traditional Thai house, which makes the stancy even more special. No big luxor, but very familiar and confortable. Good location, as well.
