The Empress Hotel    

The place had a great feel to it, all the staff were always cheerful and willing to help. It was a nice touch to turn down the bed each evening and leave a treat and a flower. Pool area was good and breakfast filling.

Had trouble logging into the computer, probably more my lack of skill.

Great location in the city. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms with central A/C, wi-fi, and television. Would recommend to anyone going to Thailand.

The staff, breakfast, the room, pool and definitely the hospitality and friendliness. Loved my stay here!

Since I am tall it would be nice to reorganize the length of the shower. I had to sit down to wash my hair. But that is really the only thing I can come with. Again, I loved my stay. I recommend it to everyone!

Well planned spacious bedroom. Location was good for restaurants, massage and tuk-tuks. Hotel was major transit camp but was well managed by delightful staff. Breakfasts were really good, plenty of choice

Single pool was far too small for size of hotel. Food and beverages were expensive and quoted on menus net of a 10% service charge and 7% VAT. Final bills were much more than anticipated !

Nice view, nice room, nice pool area.

They told me they had reserved an extra night for me - when I went to confirm it they said the hotel was full - so I had to leave. Gym was poorly fit out with mainly old machines.

We liked everything about the hotel, the decor the staff, the breakfast was outstanding , the pool and sun terrace quite happy for you to take 2 towels each as the sunbeds could get hot the room was large and very comfortable

The only small criticism was no safe in the room and they offered this at reception. But as we were leaving we talked to other guests who had them in the room and the hotel were fitting them floor by floor (we were on the top 17 floor)

Overall, very good value for money, very friendly, courteous staff. Got an immediate room upgrade on arrival, plus a one night free dinner for staying 5 nights or more. Good quiet location within easy reach of Old City, markets, and restaurants.

From my point of view, there was nothing to dislike at all.

Close to night market. Nice shower with big pressure... If you want a nice taste food just walk out from hotel to the main road ,at opposit of the road have the local Thai eating place. The food there is good , nice quality and cheap!!!

Poor service mind but still acceptable for the price... Internet is expensive. Room is old and the bed is hard to sleep on.

The hotel charges for transfer from the airport much more than local taxi price. They quoted for two people 180 bht while we paid 120 bht to a local taxi. Just walk to the domestic terminal (the other side of the airport building) and take a taxi from there.

Short walk to night market, a bit farther to old town. Tuk-Tuk ride is worth it, the truck type songthew is only 20 baht. Tour desk is quite good. Breakfast buffet is really good, if you get there early (it can run out of many choices). Very helpful staff, gave us a new room because of bad wifi, but it didn't really help much anyway.

No safe in the room, but the one behind reception is good (like a safety deposit box). Internet was poor in the room, signal so weak it would always disconnect. The price of drinks at the pool bar was very expensive.

The facilties were adequate, staff were friendly at times. The check in staff sometimes did not understand English and were at time unhelpful. Food was nicely presented especially their chinese restaurant food was delicious and good value for money. The Restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, offered great variety of foods to cater for all nationalities.

The air conditioning unit leaked, dripped water all night. They sent through a repairman to have it repaired, but did not offer an alternative room. Staff not too friendly when checking out.
