I spent 13 very happy days at The Leaf. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The staff make one feel very special.

I had to change room as the deck in my room flooded in very heavy rain and there was a leak in the room. I would like to see covers over the food at the breakfast buffet as there are a few flies about.

The position of the hotel and the bungalow .....

too many flies during breakfast time(if the ceiling fans are switched off) all the item in breakfast uncovered. Nobody speaks English especially in front desk.Had nothing to do because we had two days of heavy rain........

I stayed in a chalet. The room was newish, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The room was well cleaned and very quiet. The hotel was a short walk to the beach, restaurants, 7/11, supermarkets a 3 minute walk away. I especially enjoyed the two pools. Both were large enough for swimming short laps. The breakfast was good and included fruit, toast, eggs and bacon. In the low season, this hotel was an incredibly good deal. High season rates also seem to be good value for money

It's got a very relaxed feel and lovely gardens. Everything was very clean. Staff very helpful. Great to be so close to the cafes and shops and mini marts . Fantastic to have an empty fridge to fill with your own stuff. My teenage kids loved being close to the action and not having to get transport every time they wanted to go up the street.

Beach access is down a narrow alleyway beside the sister hotel the sands. At high tide and when l was there in july the beach was wild and unusable anyway so not a problem. TV reception not so great on my visit.

Well maintained, friendly staff, rooms and areas cleaned to a high standard. Location was good - near to the road where plenty of restaurants are located. Staff remembered that I wanted a pot of hot water at breakfast- was good that they cared for my needs!

The happy hour leaves a little to be desired as only cocktails included!

I stayed 8 nights in May 2014. Honestly I bought based on pictures, reviews and price. My expectations were at the 2-3 star level quality and service. I did not go expecting everything to be excellant. I stayed at off season rates which came to about $40 usd a night which included breakfast. WOW..was I surprised. This hotel and service was more than I hoped for. Every picture was accurate, every review was good and the price had no hidden or extra charges... The hotel premises were perfect for me. Located 1 block off main street and 1 block off beach, it was great location. It was quiet and very peaceful. The grounds were park-like and beautifully done. The pools were excellant unless you are an Olympic swimmer wanting a workout. The apartments were comfortable, nice sized, very well furnished, good king beds and nice balcony/deck. Very good bathroom facility. All the staff were a pleasure and sooo friendly and smiling. From groundskeepers to housecleaning to kitchen staff to lobby personnel...everyone was 5 star quality and did I mention, friendly and smiling?.. A breakfast buffet was provided every morning which was pretty consistent but very good. Eggs to order, bacon, fruits, vegetables, Thai foods and so on. Better than I ever expected.. Everyone worked constantly cleaning and keeping grounds nice. Rooms were cleaned daily with no shortage of linen. I loved my young cleaning lady who was always happy and friendly. The spa/massage center is excellant and I had great massage. I could go on but my point is made. I would easily place this at 5 star quality for hotel and service. The location was off beach with about 300 meter walkway through private walk to beach. If that is a concern, then adjust the review accordingly. I even liked the little gecko lizards:):) I would recommend without hesitation, would return without hesitation and enthusiastically give it excellant all around.

Anything I would write here would be just nitpicking. One would have to look very hard to find anything to complain about even if the cost were $100 a night.

Lovely villa-style facility. Big pool & bar was great. Gym was handy. Wife enjoyed the massage service.

Not right on the beach, though there is a walkway there (300m)

We stayed there for three nights coming straight from Cambodia. The hotel was beautiful and we got a free upgrade. Staff was very pleasant and the pool is magnificent.

For a hotel with this kind of quality and especially since it is the same hotel chain as the Sands next to it, they should have had some sunbeds available on the beach

The staff were incredible. The first 2 nights we stayed we got a free upgrade to the Sands, a few hundred metres nearer the beach as there was still construction work going on at the Leaf. The Leaf itself though is a very nice hotel, large rooms, comfy beds, quiet effective aircon. Very good value for money and I'd happily stay here again.

Still had construction work going on but once this is totally finished the hotel will be lovely.
