Couldn't fault it. Loved it!
The general atmosphere, the team of the resort, the garden, the jungle atmosphere, the flowers, the music of the toads at night, the water falls everywhere, the general sense of esthetic of the rooms and the design of the garden.
The mattress was the hardest ever on which I have slept in my entire life... There was no bedside lamp if you want to read in bed without disturbing your companion and the options for breakfast were minimal.
Friendly staff, clean, beautiful landscape.
Not in a main road. Enterance is located in a narrow road and not all taxi know the hotel. Can't set in the garden because of Mosquito.
1. High quality of the design of the resort from its overall layout around the swimming pool and mini-lagoon to the detail planning of each of the rooms in the two villas in which I stayed. 2. The personal touch provided by the two co-managers Pongsri and Nat. Both ladies paid attention to all of the guests to ensure that their needs and wishes were being met by the staff. 3. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff. I was particularly impressed by how they made the children feel most important and valued. 4. The many little extras like two free breakfasts provided to the my Thai colleague at early morning planning meetings and the pots of tea late each evening - at most other resorts/hotels these extras would have been added to the bill. 5. The free shuttle service to and from Chiang Mai airport. 6. How the managers Pongsri and Nat re-arranged the bookings on the day of departure so I could stay in my villa until early in the evening just before my flight to Bangkok - and at no extra fee too!!! This epitomised their willingness to make each guest's stay as enjoyable as possible.
There is nothing that I didn't like. The resort's managers (Songsri and Nat) and their staff made me feel more like a guest in their home than a client at a commercial resort.
Everything : gardens are outstanding You never see the staff but they are here and very efficient. True Thailand lovely people. Delicious thai food as well
Very friendly welcoming owners. Staff lovely. Beautiful grounds.
The staff were top notch, very happy to have us staying with them. They care deeply about their facility and are concerned about their guests needs. We thought the location was perfect, but we were more interested in handicrafts. They are very close to the manufacturing of wood, lacquer, silk, pottery, jewelry etc., and just a short drive to the night market area.
Their beds were a bit firm for our taste, and the WiFi was a bit weak in our bungalow, but that may have been because we were far from the main building.
The staff were very helpful, although very limited English apart from owner. Would definitely recommend, as a quite resort 2 get away from the hustle and bustle.
A bit far out of the way of the centre of town
The staff there were super nice..always with smile on their face and always warmly answered our every request. The rooms were spacious and clean. Although it is not located in the chiang Mai centre, we didn't find any inconvenience as they provide car service to chiang Mai centre for 200baht.
Staff at the hotel is very helpful and nice. Smiles were very pleasant. Hotel rooms were spacious.
Mosquitoes! The hotel is decorated with lots of ponds and trees - it's really beautiful. However, the greenery is breeding heaven for mozzies. The hotel needs to take measures and control the pest population. It was ignorant of me to assume the driver service was included in our costs. But clear pricing of each tour location was not available.
friendly atmosphere, the family who live there were so accommodating, privacy was ideal. The grounds were beautiful and our room was great with outdoor garden
the location of the hotel was quite far from activities and the market
Convenience of arranging day trips of our choice on our time schedule and returning to a beautiful oasis was a perfect combination.
We booked the hotel for a couple of days but stayed several days. The reason was that we were so well taken care of. We felt almost as part of the family who runs the hotel. The service was just excellent as we spent our "second honeymoon" in Chiang Mai! Oh yes, we loved the breakfasts! We will return! Thank You! Eric & Lene
The staff were very friendly and wanted to help. There is a beautiful garden and pool with lots of different shaded seating areas.
Mosquitoes but staff do spray room etc which makes things manageable.
All the staff are very very nice, so you feel at home. The wonderful garden is my favorite. It is a very quiet hotel. We two family with kids enjoyed a lot! The breakfast is dedicated a d pretty enough for everyone.
all staff are very polite and kind, we spent a lovely days there.
On arrival,my daughter and I received a very warm welcome from the owner and staff, provided with a cool drink and taken around the resort and then shown our rooms. I had booked one of the " Orchid Rooms" which was well designed with a beautifully finished interior. The surrounding gardens and pool are just delightful and very restfull. Being woken in the morning by the sound of a crowing rooster was great. This is an excellent resort and have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful resort for getting away from the hectic pace and noise of Chiang Mai.
The owner and all staffs are ready for customer's comforts! Peter, the owner, grow garden so beautiful! If we visit Chiangmai again, the oriental Siam resort is the very reason! Thanks Pongsri, Peter and all other staffs (Top, Jennifer, Joe ,,,)
Excellent staff couldn't be more helpful. Very cute property.
Probably at the higher pricing end of what it is worth but didn't mind as it was a lovely place.
nice people clean , great breakfast ,large room , quiet.
could use a-little imformation on how to use the TV. A map on the surrounding area. Maybe names of the staff
The owner couple Peter and his wife are extremely nice and welcoming.
There was a relaxed intimacy in this family-run resort. The staff were particularly helpful, efficient and friendly. We will definitely go back
Loved this place! The staff went out of their way to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The villa was a great size for 2 people and its easy to get around as the resort had cars and drivers available or taxis were minutes away.
The tropical garden is nice and cozy, though smaller than expected. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
This must be the most overrated and overpriced hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed in Fuangfha Villa, which according to booking.com is 65sqm. I can't see how that adds up, unless the outdoor area is included. There was a large kitchen at the side of the villa. It had a separate entrance door, and since nobody told us it was there, we initially thought it's a storage room. It's such a waste of space. The room was just plain, felt uninspiring and almost empty. The built-in furniture was just old-fashioned. It said there would be a sofa in there, but there wasn't even a chair to sit on. Light switches were last century and lights in the room couldn't be dimmed. There was only one bedside table with a sad lamp on it that didn't give enough light. The main switch was at the entrance door, nothing could be controlled from the bedside table. Except for a red painting, which matched the red curtains, there was no decoration whatsoever. The bed wasn't really comfortable either, a bit cheap, but so was everything else. The worst, however, was the bathroom. The shower was just opposite the sink, without any curtain, so the floor got flooded with each shower. The water pressure kept changing, so it was impossible to control hot and cold water. One moment it was piping hot, a few seconds later cold. The toiletries were the cheapest I have seen in a while. The pool is not much more than a bigger plunge pool; good for kids, I suppose, but not more than that. The water was so cold, we spent barely five minutes in the pool. The location is terrible. There's nowhere to go and it's far away from the old city. Yes, it only takes about 15 minutes by car, but only if there's little or no traffic. During peak hours it can easily take 30-45 minutes. It took us more than one hour to get there from the airport.
• Rooms are clean with big bathtubs and staff is friendly (but frequently ineffectual) • Gardens are pleasant
• Location- is not at all convenient and is 12-25 mins to town depending on traffic. While the hotel can offer a driver, be aware it’s not free. It’s 200BHT e/ way (~$6US, which is a lot for Thailand). It’s enough of a hassle that you only want to go into town once a day. There’s nowhere nearby to grab a decent meal or grab a massage. It’s smack in the middle of a residential area. • Food- breakfast is very average with limited options and amateur cooking. If you order off the menu for lunch or dinner, prices are expensive (same as high-end restaurants) and food quality is mediocre. • Rooms- décor is sparse and dated, bed linens are not soft, beds aren’t very comfortable, and the bed frame is noisy. • Ambiance- Not as tranquil as expected. Our room (Orchid) was next to chick coop (loud from dawn) and they are building a new unit so there’s loud construction noise every day except Sunday. Pool is nothing special. • Staff- well-intentioned and friendly but limited English, poor communication, really slow service, and frequently got food orders/logistics wrong.
