Thipwimarn Resort Koh Tao  

Lovely resort, beautifully done and great amenities. Perfect to get away from the crowds.

We had to check out at 6:30 am to go diving, and there was no one at the reception. We were told the hotel staff at the restaurant would get our luggage from the room which was at least 200 steps down from the reception, but the person flat out refused and then pretended he didn't understand us. After such a good experience with the reception and rest of the staff, that was a huge let down especially on the last day. Not expected from a luxury resort.

There was hardly any light in the room - only a two bed side table lamps and one small lamp mounted to the wall which meant the room was always dark. Even too dark for reading! The bed sheets and mosquito nets had holes and stains on them. We broke a glass by accident (because of the dark room) and were charged 200 Baht for it which we both felt was out of order. The accident could have been avoided if we had more lights. The shower didn't have any hot water at all. We understand that from reading reviews from other hotels that not all hotels have hot water but it would have been good to be informed of this when we checked in. The restaurant staff aren't very service minded, at all. They always stay hidden away so to order something you need to go and find them somewhere outside the restaurant. They never once asked if we wanted a second drink, no dessert or anything. Also for breakfast, there was never anyone around so we never got any coffee or tea.

Location..although up a hill its easy on a scooter and nice to be out of the business but close enough. Views were great. Nice staff.

Run down room- holes in soft funishings, plug sockets hanging out of the wall. Mouldy bathroom, electric kept cutting out and no generator to keep it going. This meant we couldnt use air con, tv, fridge etc unless we kicked up a fuss and they turned on the 'bad energy' for us. Had to use wifi from next doors resort. Cauldnt use the telephone in the room. Really bad smell on balcony.Stagnant ponds around the gardens. After the first night / day we wanted to check out. For the money you pay this was not worth it especially since we couldnt use the facilties in the room. (Wouldnt have been as bad if the electric porbelm was highlighted when we booked.) We were told we couldnt have a refund as we paid through booking.com. We asked to be upgraded and the staff receptionist said they would ask the manager. She never got back to us so when we asked again they said the manager wasnt there and they couldnt speak to her/him. Got the feeling they didnt bother asking. They bascially ignored our request. Felt sorry for the receptionists as they dealt with alot of complaints from other guests as well. Ofcourse it wasnt their fault but obvious the hotel was badly manged and needs alot of attention and improvements. Its a shame as it could be a very special place.we felt cheated for the money we spent especailly as it was meant to be a real treat for our holiday. On the plus side staff were friendly, breakfast was included and was great and the views were beautiful. Love koh tao but for the money there are plenty of other - nicer places you could stay. Wouldnt recommend this unless it had face lift and will think twice about booking with booking.com in the future.

Had a fantastic view. A very special spot to sit and watch the sun go down.

The breakfast which was inlcuded was very poor. There was a range of food but it was often cold or ineadible. The staff you were young and very slow to respond to the needs of the travellers. Also the hotel is a bit run down and the mossies attack with vengeance!

set on steep hill with hundreds of step. also many spiders and mosquitos due to surroundings

The sea view Studio is very Good value for the Money- though ist is a bit far Off- excellent view onto the sea in a tropical setting- recommended!

The views

Everything in the hotel seemed run down, old and un cared for e.g. Broken shower, holes in bed linen, stained table cloths, rubbish in the sea and on the so called beach. We ordered food which came out with mould on the bread and were woken one morning with a fright when a member of staff demanded to see in our safe.

Friendly staff, nice rooms. Good breakfast.

Location was a bit out of the way. Had to get taxis into town as roads were busy with traffic. Hotel taxi only ran till 8:30pm.

Posto meraviglioso, vista da brividi, immerso nella natura, il solo rumore che si sente é quello degli animali

La colazione scarsa e ripetitiva, troppo distante da mare, devi avere un mezzo ( scootero quod per muoverti) altrimenti troppo distante

Zimmer zu klein, nicht einmal Platz für Stuhl bzw. Sessel

Original , noyé de verdure exotique (quasiment dans une jungle a flanc de coteau) , vue incroyable , personnel gentil mais un peu jeune (manque d'experience largement compensée par la gentillesse)

Il faut etre parfois patient et savoir se faire comprendre . menage pas toujours "nickel" .... mais dans un endroit aussi exceptionnel "on s'en fout" :-)

netekla teplá voda, pokoj příliš malý a nepohodlný, v pokojích byl hmyz. Tento hotel bych nedoporučila, rozhodně neodpovídá 4****.

Meget fin utsikt, rolig og frodig.

Ventet opp til en time på maten. Vi måtte gå å lete etter de som jobbet der for å kunne betale regningen på resturanten. En kveld hadde vi en rotte på badet. Det var litt utenfor sentrum,og det kostet 300 bth for å komme seg til andre resturanter eller til straden.

Top ausgestattetes Resort mit sehr schönem Meerblick von fast allen Bereichen (Bungalow, Pool (!!!), Lobby, Restaurant etc.). Hotelführung legt scheinbar Wert auf Umweltfreundlichkeit, was für die Insel sehr wichtig ist. Personal stets hilfsbereit, vor allem die Rezeptionisten.

酒店的大体环境不错！小巧有造型！园林很棒！小房子都隐藏林间。有神秘岛的感觉。

泳池脏不靠海，梯步多，不适合老年人，标准间到大堂110步，大堂下到海边330步，上来累死！！标准间没- 有热水，但是网站并未说明。所有房间没有无线，大堂的无线基本是坏的，餐厅食物一般，服务态度糟糕。价格昂- 贵！花园景观房比标准间还要差！推荐海景别墅房

Sauberkeit, Lage, kein guter Service, man muss sich schon melden, zu anderen Gästen auch noch sehr unfreundlich obwohl diese nicht duschen konnten oder mal 2 kein Strom hatten...etc. absolut nicht empfehlenswert

Na to ze je to ctyrhvezda dostali jsme roztrhany rucnik, internet nefungoval, tekla jen studena voda a nema plaz.
