Every thing ok for cost
Pool stung eyes give breakfast a miss much better up road was on ground floor woken up 5 am every morning by noisy staff loud talking out side room and doors slamming
Best location with best of old and new. Close to all markets, shops, restaurants and bars. Walk to everything. Very comfortable rooms. Price is excellent.
A bit noisy due to location being in the middle of everything. Breakfast was a bit lacking, but sufficient.
Great location Pool was nice House cleaners good, came everyday and kept the room clean and tidy.
Grumpy woman at the front desk No hot water Being asked continuously for my breakfast pass (4 times in 1 morning!) Poor communication about changing passwords for the wifi - wifi seemed to be turned off every afternoon. Slippery tiles around pool area
The hotel was great. We had a deluxe room. The location is perfect. It is next door to a muay thai fighting stadium. This is a great night out. Blind folded boxing, knockouts the lot. Also ona sunday the night market is in town and it is about 50 metres from the hotel. This is the biggest market i have ever been to. Really really cheap stuff.
Everything was fine.
Location was OK
Noisy, old, bad breakfast, long way from road, wifi code must be frequently re-entered
Wonderful view on the Fifth floor of Doi Suthep.
Very noisy AC
Searching machines like Google or Yahoo didnt work because something in network sent huge amount of queries and they had blocked all traffic from network.
I really liked the location - it was perfect.
The first room I went into was disgustingly dirty. It didn't even look like it had been cleaned from the previous tenant and the sheet was ripped. They put me into a different room which was slightly better, but there was a dead bug in the bed and mouse droppings in the bathroom. The ceiling had black mold and looked like it was about to collapse. I was not pleased with the cleanliness of the room at all or the up keep and would not stay there again.
Well located for old city and new city. Short walk from night markets.
Very limited breakfast. Slatted windows meant that our room smelled smoky constantly from smokers outside on the landing.
Great location for tralever. Thumb up. swimming pool Available.
1.Top north hotel need to improve more and renovate look more comfortable. 2. Time free transfer is limited. 3.toilet leaking.
The location was great as it was central to everything. Room was tidy, spacious and quiet, despite the next door-Muay Thai fights every night.
Wifi was good but only in pool and lobby area. Very frustrating trying to use it in the room, my partner and I found ourselves standing near the door on many occasions just to check email or to send a Facebook message which refused to send anywhere else in the large room.
Good location inside the moat. Good pool area, nice spacious rooms. Breakfast was average but food off the menu was really good. Great service from the staff and lots of help from the tourism counter. Close by lots of restaurants/cafes and not far to walk to the weekend walking markets
Cheap, good location.
Breakfast is poor, room isn't clean.
My favorite place to stay in Chiang Mai, and their Guest House. Great excursions to choose from.
We had a deluxe room... It was generally clean and tidy, but was tired in decor.
Mouse poo found in room, but that was not such a big deal. The big deal is the Thai Kick Boxing club immediately adjacent to the hotel. We arrived at 7pm, and the noise started about 8pm. Very, very loud music, use of microphone. We enquired with the reception is this usual for a Friday night. We we told that the boxing occurs every night of the week. Additionally because of the military curfew, the receptions staff said the noise will stop by midnight because of the curfew. That was the only time I thought I would saw thank goodness for the coup! I would strongly not recommend staying here.
Location, swing pool
Value for money
The location to the Sunday walking market was a 2 minute walk!
The balcony has no seating area, no hot water, and the tv channels all came in fuzzy.
Smell of THE paint
Housekeeping did an excellent job, every day.
paying more than 2000 baht over the cost of my stay had I not booked in advance with booking.com I would have saved 2500 Baht. The air con was weak and slow to cool room.
The poolbar and the staff
i had some 1 with a key come into my room and rob me of $300.00 while i was sleeping….paid 2200 to book my flight to Thailand …when i got to the Airport the tickets were never purchased…i booked a daily treck for 2000 bath and was sick the day of the daily track….never received the money back….i would never go there again...
It is well located, just inside the old city walls on the east side. Rooms were a good size and clean. We were on the ground floor with rooms overlooking the pool. Buffet breakfast by the pool in the morning and a small bar for drinks most of the day. Lots of restaurants , bars and other activities close by. Found a walking tour of the city online which helped us find our way around the old city. Although we didn't use it, apart from booking a taxi to the airport when we left, the tour desk provided a huge selection of organised tours.
Buffet was very mediocre and very do it yourself. We even had to clear the table ourselves. Lots of mosquitoes around the pool in the evening. I never stayed for more than one drink. WiFi in my room very poor. Okay by the pool
A place to dry our clothes after songkran festival each day
We really enjoyed the tours offered by the hotel. There was an older gentleman, who really helped us locate tours in the short time we were there. Although the hotel was not posh, we were there during Songkran to get soaked and play in the streets. For our Top North two bedroom suite, we enjoyed daily breakfast, wi-fi, a nice pool, and cold water bottles in our room fridge. There was also a nice massage spa nestled next door to the hotel. Overall, we had a great visit.
I chose the location because it was right by the action, the Tha Pae gate. We are new to Thailand, so I had no idea how loud the festivities would be at night. We liked the Top North, just not the noise associated with the street festivities. Had we chosen another time to visit, we would not have experienced the noise.
