Stylish colonial design is the trademark of De Chai Hotel, with its indoor pool and free Wi-Fi. Located along Thapae Road, it is a 5-minute walk from the Sunday Walking Street.

Score from 5 reviews Wonderful
Quiet place in the center of Chiang Mai. Very nice old colonialhouse with a lot of beautiful details and objects. The Nightmarket takes place right in front of the Hotels Restaurant.
Rooms are quiet dark and very small.
The staff were sweet and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is away from the busy part of town, yet.. close enough to walk.
The location of the hotel is just outside the busy ring of Chiang Mai. Nice staff, rooms that are designed with an eye for details and a romantic atmosphere.
Really nice place, big rooms nice style, nice staff, not so far from the center you can walk easy without taxis or tuk tuk, really enjoy it
A lot of mosquitos outside in the pool zone, staff Don't understand English well (but this is common in Thailand), the resturant is not really good with poor choices good for a drink or if you really don't want to go outside
Good food, in the mornings and in the restaurant. Very big room, with a tv and pc.
Quite far from the city centre. The swimming pool is way too small. They didn't know much about the brochures in their information centre. One of the tour organisors didn't exist anymore and they still distributed their brochures.
Loved the decor and coziness of the room. Beautiful courtyard.
Pool was dirty.
Wonderful place, nice furniture, quiet and delicious breakfast. Bikes for free. Lovely swimming pool
Rooms are not very big
Dirty, issues with the hot water (shower didn't work). Needed to be moved. It's a musty old place in need of a renovation. Staff was polite and nice.
What a lovely hotel. Friendly staff, who did their best to help. Great value in a peaceful and stylish venue
The employee was very kind, but the manager was not able to talk to us
the pool looks like a tank and was dirty. the room was very dark. We decided to leave the hotel
Near Saturday Market walking street
this hotel is by far one of the best i've ever seen in Thailand. besides the extraordinary colonial style it offers much more: its like an Oase in the middle of the old town. if chiang Mai would not be so worth seeing we could have spent the whole day at this Place, just enjoying the charmeful Place itself with the absolutely great stuff and not to forget-if you are lucky to see her-sing sing, the holder of TYNR. she is the heart of TYNR and she makes you feel so at home and so welcome there, that it made the farewell for us quiet hard.never had this Atmosphere somewhere else before. the rooms are soo beautiful and they make you feel so comfortable there, like no Place before. we loved it.
The reveiw title says it all. We stayed here for 4 nights in March. On arrival while checking in the guy took 15 minutes to eventually sort us out while all the while we were being eaten alive by mozzies. Then when we got to our room (which was advertised as "Features pool view" - it had no veiw whats so ever) we found that mozzies were prevelant here too, throughout the room and bathroom. There is a crack in the door which allows them in so you really need to use the mosquito netting on the bed, which was not 100% effective to say the least. Not enjoyable. Is most certainty not a 4-star resort as it was described online, with very dated decor and faulty electricity plugs which will zap you. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate at best. The pool was not maintained very well, even through it was high summer...had low water, full of leaves and some how still freezing - way too cold for use. The breakfast was sparse but you are able to get eggs made, it is not very vegetarians friendly though. The staff where rather unhelpful with finding locations, suggesting sights etc and the night guy was far more interesting in playing games on his iphone. The location is a good 10 minute walk to the edge of the main 'city' canal / square area. It was ok on the night there is one market a 2 min walk but as soon as you venture to the inner city it ends up being a long wlk back...At this price they are charging you are far better to stay in the city. You will find cheaper places, more hospitable staff, nicer breakfasts, no mosquitos and a generally better stay.
The room was very large and clean. There was a computer in the room for our use. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good. The area was close to the old city.
The bed was very hard. The room was a little dark.
We loved the colonial architecture - such a contrast from the rest of Chiang Mai. We liked the slightly out-of-town location, away from the tourist bustle of the old town, effectively an oasis of calm enhanced by the friendly but unobtrusive staff. The location was not a problem - within walking distance of the old town, when we wanted to walk, but with frequently passing tuk-tuks and "buses" when we didn't.
A consequence of colonial style extending to furniture - like a massive four-poster bed - meant that space was tight within the room.
This hotel had a lovely traditional feel. The staff were very helpful. Good value for money.
The bedroom with two single beds was quite cramped. There were many mosquitos! The location is a little bit out of the centre but transport links good.
An absolutely lovely place to stay. Walking distance to the old city. Beautiful room. We were absolutely overwhelmed with how lovely our room was. The pool is small but the area is lovely for sitting at.
Although the staff were lovely they had limited knowledge of Chiang Mai and things to do in the area as well as good restaurants. The bikes were in poor condition and often there were not bikes available for use.
Staff doesn't speak english
We stayed only one night and moved to another hotel. It is only for back pack travellers. The rate was too high for the conditions provided. We suggest that booking.com should check this hotel carefully before offer to passengers to make online booking. It is nothing but cheating ! Thank you
Too isolated. Hotel did not honor a room with pool view as we requested in advance. In fact it was not a swimming pool but a water tank. The room gave us was so tiny that we could not even move around nor to put our luggage. We requested refund for the rest 3 nights but was rejected. It was not a hotel recommendable. It is a shame for Thailand, a very reputable tourist destination.
I love this cozy and beautiful hotel. Every bit of the hotel is picturesque and reminds one of the old peaceful time. The staff is friendly and helpful. Complimentary bike rental is available. Close to the old town, right on the Saturday night market.
peaceful location. Garden area.
More variety of food.
everything is ok
just far away from centrol of the city
The best staff I had met in my 20 days trip. Room, and courtyard be decorated by Thai traditional style and the lovely tropical rainforest plant and little cat is extremely interesting.
a) Only 15 min. driving way to airport, that is good, but not all drivers know this hotel.
restauran was amazing also rest in mountain
improve english on the reception but everybody was very friendly a helpfully
The rooms are beautiful Hotel gardens in beautiful setting. We arrived at the hotel very early but staff were extremely helpful and prepared us a room as soon as someone had checked out. Staff in restaurant extremely friendly. We enjoyed our two days there.
Swimming pool quite small.
