Varinda Garden Resort    

This is a great address for alternative public. The concept is over the top, and makes a funny cliché: Somewhere between hippies and bikers. Staff is nice and helpfull. Food has a good price/quality.

Actually the whole accommodation. It's 10 minutes walk to the beach (and their path to the beach leads actually to a street). The swimming pool is very small. The rooms are dark. Sheets smell humidity. Air conditioning is loud. Sanitary could be better (although clean). The wifi is free by reception, paid in your room. I wouldn't recommend it.

Staff was very poor, they simply ignored us, even when we needed help with our flight arrangement, they gave us wrong information. Breakfast quite boring and poor. The room was not as we expected after reading the description on the website, very basic rooms and empty toilets. Location quite far from the beach, the path leading there is very steep and quite dangerous, so not suitable for old people or children. Very disappointing, bad value for money, considering the high price that we paid!!!

LOVED the location!!! Above the beach in a quiet area that was perfect for relaxing. The people were fantastic as well. Had a great lounge area and pool that were both assets for families.

Bit too many mosquitoes in the room. Kids got eaten alive. Bug coils did the trick.

The friendly staff and the great view to the beach at breakfast. I also liked the natural surroundings in the hotel area. There are even growing banana trees in the resort.

During our stay there was a new pool for babys under construction. Of this reason it was very noisy in the morning while having breakfast and using the pool wasnt very comfortable.

Varinda is a great resort, lovely design which create a very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Staff is friendly, good food, nice small pool with great view. From all resorts visited on Koh Samui we loved this one the most.

I booked Varinda for my friends and I so we could experience the real thai feel! And that is exactly what happened.As we drove into the hotel we realised it was up a huge hill! The hotel is in the middle of trees, shrubbery, plant pots and decorated very colourfully with lanterns and wooden structures everywhere. The family house was amazing, with our own private balcony with a view of the beach it really did create a calm atmosphere. the living room was spacious but the seats were wooden and uncomfortable. the bedrooms were comfortable and clean however the bathroom was dark and not as clean as hoped. despite all this it was manageable and not a problem! At night there were strange noises of animals, crickets and what we think was a water pipe which sounded more like a hog making grunting noises!!! this wasnt anything to complain about, it was just adding to the experience! the beach is about a 5-10 minute walk down the strip. i enjoyed the beach which was better than chaweng! chaweng was alot better for nightlife however! definately recommend arc bar on wednesdays, a huge beach party! best experience in samui! Glad i experienced this place. no point going to a tropical authentic country if your going to live in 5* accommodation which doesnt even represent where you are!! the affordability of varinda and the helpfullness and smiles all day round of the reception staff you cannot put a price on! definately recommend it!

If you dont like animals or creepy crawlies this isnt the place for u! As it is up a hilly jungle, there are lizards, insects, bats, huge moths, mosquitoes everywhere, one night my friend even saw a green snake, which we were assured was safe. I felt like I was looking over my shoulder the whole time but it has made me tougher as an individual. There are also three resident dogs in the hotel but their so friendly! The wifi is free at reception which conveniently has a few seats around so that you can just relax there and catch up with your emails etc. you have to pay for a certain time limit of wifi in your room which i paid for but just popping to the reception for internet wasnt too much of a hassle. breakfast wasnt great but it did the job. This place is not ideal for the disabled or elderly, With steep steps to the beach and awkward steps to the receptionn, wheelchair and easy access is impossible! It does though add to the adventure feel!

Location, views, gardens, friendliness, peace and relaxation. All good!!

Eine wunderschöne, kunterbunte Anlage im Stil von Hundertwasser. Auch die Hippiezeit ist hier überall noch vertreten. Viele gesammelte "Werke" sind in dieser Anlage, Bungalows und Restaurant anzutreffen. Die Bilder im Internet sind nicht geschönt. Auch die sehr freundliche Führung durch eine thailändische Familie hat uns gefallen. Die nächsten Geschäfte und Restaurants sind in ca. 10 Gehminuten zu erreichen. Zum Strand ebenfalls. Der Strandabschnitt ist wunderschön und sauber und lädt zum Entlanglaufen ein. Liegen am Strand haben wir beim "Black Pearl" genutzt; diese waren kostenfrei, wenn man als Gast dort den Tag verbracht hat. D.h. im Klartext, man bestellt sich ein Getränk und kann dann die Liegen und Sonnenschirme nutzen. Empfehlenswert ist unbedingt, die kleine "Freßgasse" im Zentrum von Lamai, dort kann man hervorragend essen und trinken zu einem kleinen Preis direkt beim Thai.

Für ältere Leute mit Gehbeschwerden bzw. Familien mit kleineren Kindern ist der kürzere Weg zum Strand bzw. Ort beschwerlich. Es geht über ca. 50 Treppenstufen steil bergab und anschließend wieder bergauf. Man hat aber auch die Möglichkeit, über die Straße entlang zu gehen. Allerdings ist dies der doppelte Gehweg. Für uns war es aber o.k.

Das Varinda Resort ist ein echter Traum die Lage auf dem Hügel nicht am Meer ist kein Problem zu Fuß 10 Minuten zum Wasser aber wir immer ein Mopet in Thailand die Anlage gleicht einen Urwald die Zimmer groß und schön etwas dunkel wegen der vielen Planzen die Chefin Noi und ihre Mitarbeiter absolut klasse man darf trotzdem nie vergesse dass das Resort nur 3 Sterne hat den absoluten Luxsus findet man hier nicht dafür eine Oase der Ruhe.

Das Frühstück und W-Lan könnte Überall Gratis sein.

Kleines netter Resort, die Bungalos sind Sauber und Günstig, Personal ok, sprechen Englisch, schöner Pool mit schönen Blick auf das Meer aufgrund der hohen Lage. Was ungewohnt ist, alles auf Hippi Style gemacht, Preise (Essen) ok und wir haben dort was man betonen muss einen super kaffee bekommen, was in Thailand ja selten ist, dieser muss aber sepperat bestellt werden, nicht zum Frühstück.

Man hat einen weiten Weg zum Strand, Der Frühstücksraum ist zu eng und man hat ein wenig Stress in der Früh, die Wege sind nicht gepflegt, (es schauen nägel aus den Brettern)

每间房间都有特别的设计，可谓一步一景，我们三个晚上共住了4个不同的房型，都很特别。很满意。

卫生有待提高，毛巾有异味。建议自带。蚊子多。

Het hotel is leuk ingericht en straalt een gezellige sfeer uit. Kleine 10 min wandelen van het strand van Lamai. Op 5 min van het centrum, toch in alle rust gelegen. Leuk zwembad met glijbaan voor de kinderen.

De familiekamer heeft geen muskietennet of vliegenramen en het is moeilijk om de muggen buiten te houden. De familiekamer is donker en heeft lage deuren waar je wel eens tegen loopt :-)

Хорошее расположение по отношению к шумным улицам, неплохое обслуживание, номера да и весь отель с явным признаком дизайнерского подхода. Уютно, ощущение джунглей, экзотично но не на грани фола.

Скучные завтраки, постельное бельё пахло тухлым полотенцем, а сами полотенца пахли как будто их стирают в соседнем болоте.
