Rooms are a good size, bathrooms good. Comfortable bed.Lovely pool. Nice to have breakfast beside the pool.
Windows look out onto other rooms, no privacy unless you close the curtains. There should be a sheer, privacy curtain that can be used during the day.
We had a wonderful stay. Better than I had envisaged. Will stay at Vieng Mantra again for my next visit. Highly recommended.
Pool is beautiful. Breakfast is good. Staff is nice. Location is quiet but near major road.
The swimming pool is not so clean.
Can get a quality hotel for the same price and I saw 2 rats
I liked how conveniently located I was here. Walking distance from all the hotspots but also in a quiet street. My room faced the pool and my balcony was my favorite place to read. The room was very clean and everything worked perfectly. Breakfast was good and there was a nice variety. I apreciated the replacement of the bottled water everyday aswell as the shampoo. There were swimming towels by the pool and fresh towels in the room everyday. The bicycles for rent were well looked after and inexpensive. It is a beutiful hotel with very comfortable rooms.
Good location, very closed to center of activities. Convenient to walk everywhere. Room is actually good, but the lack of window shield means everybody has the access to the view inside your room (which means not much privacy). Friendly and helpful staffs in general.
Room is too transparent due to the absence of proper window shield which can allow light in but prohibit stray view into the room. Cost of the room is somehow quite expensive, as this hotel is quite old. Bad wifi inside the room, on-off which is disturbing.
The location is excellent and very friendly , helpful staff. Great cocktails.
The breakfast could be improved. Eggs were often cold and there wasn't much variety.
The worst hotel I have stay in Chiang mai. The staff are not nice. There was 10+ mosquito in my room. I will never go back there again.
Loved the location. Very close to everything. Try Cooking love restaurant if you stay here. Pool is nice and much needed after a day out in the city.
swimming pool，upgraded room，nice people，good location
Wi-Fi is not fast，but acceptable
- Clean, comfortable room with a nice balcony - Nice bathroom and shower - Great location in the Old Town - Friendly staff - Good breakfast included
- A little pricey (by Thai standards) - The WiFi cut out for a few hours in the middle of the night, and wasn't back on until morning (I was up from 3 a.m. watching the World Cup, and the internet was out from 4-7). Probably an isolated issue.
Staff weren't attentive.
Our room was very noisy because we had an array of airconditioner on our outer wall.
Location was good and room was very nice. They charged my phone at reception for me free of charge. Big mumas breakfast was nice!
Forgot our wake up call which made us have five minutes to get ready and eat breakfast prior to our tour transport. Shower handles get very hot and if touched burn your bum!!
The hotel has a beautiful and well-kept swimming pool, a great breakfast, nice rooms, and a good location.
Some of the staff members were a bit slow and had difficulties speaking/understanding English. The hotel is a bit pricey for the area - there are many cheaper guest houses nearby.
My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Thailand and stayed at the Vieng Montra during our time in Chiang Mai. The hotel is well-located, a 10-minute walk to temples, restaurants and the night market. Comfortable double bed, safe in the room, large TV and good air-conditioning, always a must in Thailand! Swimming pool open until 10pm, really nice when you're back at the hotel and need to relax after a whole day walking around town. Good breakfast, fruits, juices and Western and oriental food in large portions. The restaurant is not open at all times, but you don't need it anyway, there is a nice café just around the corner. I probably would stay there again, but... (read on)
The hotel urgently needs to hire people with better English skills! You have to be very patient to explain many times to the front desk what you need, because they are unable to answer some simple questions or requests - and give information that you can understand - while staring at you with a smile. It is a lot worse than other places in Thailand, so I believe this is a particular issue at this hotel. Ask for a lower floor if you have trouble climbing the stairs. We were given a room on the third floor, and, although we had our luggage carried up, we had to climb the stairs up and down all the time. The bathroom was not very clean and be careful when taking shower because you can get burned if you touch the hot water pipe by accident. Low speed Wi-fi connection in the room, better on the ground floor (just some 30 steps downstairs....)
provide easy breakfast in the early morning; good location near the Thapae Gate; having a swimming pool
dirty quilts; wet room; many mosquitoes
Great location Excellent wi-fi Rooms and pool were great Buffet Breakfast was excellent
location , pool , breakfest
bed was hard , on the older side
This hotel has a excellent location, lots of things to do and next to the night market. The pool is very relaxing and breakfast is nice too. The room is very comfortable, I would come back here
Location and service very good
Its an expensive hôtel.comparing hôtel at same block which have even better rooms. The bteakfast was very poor as well
Nice atmosphere Located directly in old city Nice swimming pool Friendly staff Definitely go here again
