The hotel is ideally situated for the KhaoSan Road. It is literally around the corner from it, and yet it is perfectly quiet. There is a lovely outdoor pool to cool off in. The rooms are grand (if you're staying on the Khao San Road, you aren't going there for the sleep anyway). They are spacious and the bathroom was spotless. This hotel is perfect for someone arriving in Thailand, and hoping to spend a night or two in Bangkok. A great starting spot. A slight smell of damp in the room, but nothing dreadful by any means. |

The swimming pool was lovely and the food and facilities very good. Not really a criticism but it was a bit impersonal - like most middle of the range hotels everywhere |

It is right in the main tourist area, kau san road a 2min walk, i was very happy with the location, that is the best thing about the place. I did get put in a room on the backside first as requested, but this only had 2 singles beds in it, after I went down and asked for a king bed, they said they only have them on the front side, which i found hard to believe, but went with that anyway. Helpful information that other travlers might want to know, when getting in a tuk tuk, if they say reduced rate for one free stop(meaning they are going to take you to a store that they get paid petrol vouchers from) thats why you get reduced rate. taxis always ask to go by the meter, otherwise they make up there own price mmmm depends how picky you are, this is not the flashest hotel i have ever stayed at, buts its not a backpackers either. The front side rooms are very noisy, all and all im glad i stayed there, mind you i wouldnt go there for a romatic get away haha. its nice but not flash, but best i seen that close to main tourist area. hope this helps you |

The breakfast had a wide choice. The rooms away from the front are quieter. We chose the Viengtai for its proximity to the National Museum and Silpakorn University, against the alternative Royal Hotel which seemed to have gone downhill. In stark contrast to the interior of the hotel the surrounding locality was rather seedy. |
