The award-winning Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa, which means "finding inner peace" in Japanese, is located on a private beachfront on Bo Phut Beach. Helpful, welcoming staff. AMAZING dinner restaurant. Whether you stay or not have the Thai food at the restaurant it's sooo good. Great beach. Rooms were nice and unique but not particularly comfortable due to layout and the air con hardly worked, it was very warm.

This place is top notch...It is "transcendental"...taking you into a beautiful tropical paradise...with the most scenic and serene, zen like nature walkways, artwork from all over...Bali/India, etc. and gorgeous private and unique villas. The staff was very friendly and helpful (they even came to our room to bandage/clean a cut that I had)...The restaurant has exceptional food (Fois Grois/imported from France, Caesar Salads, Lobster dishes, Bruscetta, Lamb, etc.)...and is run by a true, hard working and charismatic professional, Zigfreed. People come from all over the island to experience the cuisine and ambiance of this top rated Restaurant. However, it is always a "private feeling." We were so sad to leave! Most of the villas have wonderful outdoor showers, which are attached to bathroom area. However, for the majority of villas, there is not netting...Thus, when the mosquitos are "around" in the evening it becomes "challenging." If you call the front desk, they can bring you something to put in bathroom area to burn and reduce mosquitos...and a lantern (candle) to light during the evening/night hours, which does not attract them (like the ceiling light). However, once we figured this out, we had the "mosquito issue under control"...and would not hesitate to return to this tranquil villa beach "heaven" at ANY TIME!!!

Beautiful location on the beach. It is a smaller resort with all the facilities of a larger one. The gardens and surrounds are stunning. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everything you would expect with the addition of serenity. I would have liked a relaxed coffee shop style of eatery. Sometimes you just want a quick snack and coffee rather than a restaurant. The meals in the restaurant were quite slow to arrive.

Rooms were unique and comfortable. Restuarant was very good. Food was delicious, service was very good. Breakfast was very enjoyable. The social time on Friday was very special. It gave the guests a time to meet the owner and other staff. The airconditioning system could have been a little better to make the rooms more comfortable.

The overall feel was friendly welcoming and the staff are a delight it has a old world charm about the hotel similar to the hotels on the amalfi coast.The food was enjoyable,fresh and well prepared and resonably priced.My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at Zazen and would recommend the resort highly. The only down side if any was the seabed as you enter the water under a very thin layer of fine sand was a black substance possibly vegative material decomposing?

A beautiful boutique hotel located at the end of the beach approx. 15 mins walk from Fishermans Village, where there are plenty of restaurants and tourist shops. Hotel restaurant was like fine dining every night. Excellent breakfast with beachside view from restaurant. Every member of staff were attentive throughout our stay. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for couples wanting a touch of class and a quiet relaxing break.

Friendly, helpful & excellent staff at the reception & bungalow. Lovely deluxe bungalow that my toddler loves running around as well as having one of the best baby cot. Beautiful & lush gardens as well as lightings/lanterns in the night. The bf & dinner at Zazen restaurant is great! Massages at the Spa are fantastic. Mosquitos can be found in the bathroom as it is not air-conditioned. :( Beach and pool is rather small and hence suitable for dips only. Dinner at Zazen restaurant was great but it was not a pleasure dining there because of the waitress that served us. Miscommunication as she is not very well versed in English while taking my orders. I am allergic to prawns and requested for my rice to be served without prawns and the prawns were still there when it arrived. But will still recommend people there as overall it is still a perfect 9.9. =)

отель супер, маленький бутик, хорошие виллы в садах, завтраки с блюдами на заказ и с шампанским, хороший спа. дно на пляже не предсказуемое трава, камень, ракушка, ил ... - куда попадет нога неизвестно (для информации, нас это не напрегало), ночи могут быть бессонные из-за крика птицы.

L'hôtel est bon, le jardin superbe et le restaurant excellent, quoique un peu cher. Kho Samui est devenu sale et la mer porteuse de bactéries fécales, de boules de goudron et peu ragoutante. L'épuration des eaux est une véritable catastrophe.

Uitstekend restaurant (wij hebben hier drie dagen zowel ontbijt, lunch als diner gebruikt, allemaal goed!) met goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Attente en aardige bediening. Overal altijd begroet met de bekende Thaise glimlach en begroeting. Op het strand werden er vaak 'complimentary' (dus gratis) extraatjes gegeven, zoals een koud doekje ter verkoeling, een glaasje sap of vers fruit. Altijd precies op het goede moment... Doordat Zazen aan het einde van de strand strook ligt, voelt het privé met weinig langslopende andere toeristen.
