Location, rather new building, wonderful sea
nice room, but two separate beds (strange)
Is not my first stay in this hotel, is my favorite hotel to spend a weekend or holidays.I recommend it with pleasure to all my friends.
But it is something that you do not pleased with this hotel ?
Les piscines, l'animation, la plage
Great view of beach and pool, different styles of gourmet are fantanstic.
As a 5 star resort, renting towel on the beach is not so conveient
Large room with balcony with sea view. Comfortable bed. Attentive, multilingual staff. Everything spotless. Excellent value for money.
Breakfast and dinner were buffet style.
The cleanliness of the hotel, which was extremely well maintained. The chi I was H/B and the buffet choice was very pleasing. The staff were always polite mainly and smiled whenever they had to deal with you. Going in January I quite liked the quietness of the hotel too, not busy at all. Very efficiently run though it seemed.
Quite a lot of rules and regulations. Strict timings for meal times. Room management times varied, so we weren't always sure if they were going to come and change towels and empty bins etc. We had to ring down to front desk on one occasion. Hotel entertainment was just ok but again it was not busy. I did feel like the staff were directed to focus more on the all inclusive and maturer guests as they attended to them a lot.
This is the sort of hotel that we try to avoid - a vast seaside hotel but our itinerary and schedule left no choice. That having been said this hotel was excellent. A very good room and an interesting garden. Few other customers added to the pleasure - I hate to think what it must be like in high season with people probably putting towels on sunbeds in spite of the notice asking guests not to!
My husband and I chose this hotel based on its ratings. It has grand exterior and a grand lobby, but the rooms are something you could find in any 3 stars hotel, very basic and very cold. The view was nice, a small terrace- although I do not understand how the walls of the terraces can be so attached, anyone could jump them and enter your room with no effort or danger whatsoever. So no leaving the doors open during summer, I guess. The food was good, nothing spectacular, the buffet was always big and during breakfast there were fresh orange juice and on-the-spot made eggs and baked goods. It is a family oriented hotel, so my guess is that it would not be good for couples seeking peace and adults' holiday in general. We stayed there after Christmas, an the hotel was almost empty. Finally, its position is excellent, not far from the Medina, and the parking is safe too.
1) The first thing I had to do, while my husband was parking the motorbike, was to PAY. No "madame, can we help" or "welcome", just "this is your bill". I had 2 nights there, and this is just rude and unneccessary. We slept in a real 5 star hotel at Djerba, with whole another level of prices, and we paid at the checkout, not even a credit card guarantee. 2) On the first morning, at 10:30 AM the chambermaid knocked insistently at our door - despite the "do not disturb" sign hanged. She said:" I must do the room!" I asked her kindly to return in 15 minutes as we would go out. We did, we put the "Make up my room" sign and returned 5 hours later: the room was not done. We complained at the reception, they asked us to take a walk around the pool while they did the room. We walked, came back to the reception, ASKED specifically the receptionist if the room was done. Response: "yes of course, go up". The result? The room was not made up. We went back, furious as hell, and all we got was silence and avoiding eye contact. My husband demanded that the room would be done, another (higher level) manager came out, and we were obliged to sit in the lobby waiting for the chambermaid to do what she HAD to do - considering that the rooms are done until 4 PM. Eventually the room was done (you can imagine the high standards of cleanliness we got after such a dispute) and we were able to go up, but we lost patience, an hour of hanging out in the freezing lobby and all respect for a supposed 5 stars hotel. The only thing that counts for them is that you pay the bill: the rest of the 5 stars promised services are optional. THe fact that the hotel was almost empty makes me wonder what kind of service they provide during full bookings?
The food is fabulous. I loved the walk from the hotel to the medina. The spa is very nice and the treatments I received were fantastic.
I had Double Room with Panorama Sea view, the Staff was execellent,Special in reception and the restaurant.
