Amazing, I will be back.
Leaving the island.
The peacefulness and the free whale watching every day
They advertise a pool which is poorly maintained and doesn't do this purpose it's designed to.
Outlook of the restaurant/bar was stunning. Beautiful setting. Staff excellent, especially Glenda.Would return.
If you want to go somewhere for rest & relaxation then this is the place. The seawater pool area is nice, close to the bar & restaurant & a hop down to the reef for some snorkeling. The staff are friendly & helpful especially Pelotu & Martha in the restaurant.
Having to go home
The best part was the hospitality shown the staff. They were incredibly accommodating.
That we didnt have enough time to get to the know place better. Didnt want to go.
I loved the staff they were amazing.
No beach and reliant on tide for swimming.
The treehouse bar overlooking the water has amazing views and great atmosphere and catches the cooling breeze. Likualofa has a good sized and flexible menu (all day) and they are willing to serve down by the pool. We were able to request vegetarian options from the lunch menu for dinner, no problems. The fale was a generous size, with lovely high ceilings and tasteful Tongan-themed decor. The beach front and sunset views are amazing. The coral takes a little bit of negotiating, but there is also a sand beach just a couple of minutes walk from the resort beach. The gardens are stunning - beautifully landscaped and tropical, but still lush and wild enough to make you feel private in your fale. Glenda gave us great service every day, and was helpful and genuine. The feast and cultural show is reputed to be the best in Tonga - according to locals - and we certainly got great value for money. The feast was generous and the cultural show a lot longer and more detailed than others we have seen. It's a good idea to keep some low-denomination Tongan $ with you at the show, so you can participate in the custom of showing your appreciation of the dancers by sticking $ to the coconut oil on their shoulders and arms.
The cocktails are tasty but weak - local beers are better value. The complimentary breakfast is fresh and tasty, but quite small. We found that topping the breakfast up by ordering eggs was a good idea. This costs extra, but the breakfast menu prices are really cheap. Wifi only works by the office/reception area - this is fine, but it wasn't clear when we booked that it was only an hour per day and not available in our fale.
Awesome location and wonderful people. Loved the beach view and the cottage setup. Free wifi was certainly a plus too. The "natural swimming pool" was a nice touch.
We were charged for airport pickup $70 for 2 people without notice. A taxi would have been cheaper and faster. The swimming pool was empty at low tide and quite murky at high tide.
The services, location and staff were fantastic! Was great to have the beach and pool so close! Loved it, 10/10 :D
The heat of the room, and inability to cool it down for sleeping. Would like better fans, or perhaps air con.
Everything! The location with seaview, the brillant pool with seawater, the relaxed style, the very kind and helpful staff and management, the very delicate food, the whole atmosphere. We had a great time and we would love to come back again:-)
Yes, it's cheap. Yes, the staff is trying hard. But I'd rather payed more to get better hotel
There were no hot water. Lighting in rooms and of paths were poor. Rooms are weared. Beach is basically a coral rock and views are average.
Nancy was a real gem she was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The buffet dinner with cultural dance and fire dancing was phenomenal. The room was had was great, lovely facilities - hot and cold water and the cleaner really did a great job everyday. The views around the resort were so beautiful - nice island paradise. Loved my stay with my husband. We have alot of photos and memories to share with our family when we got back home. Luv this resort it really is the "Beach of Love". We definitely will be back. Great experience, well done Likualofa staff. Keep up the great work.
It was clean and comfortable and the bar and restaurant overlooking the sea was great. The staff were great.
Its 70 tonga dollars from the airport and 40 from town. If you are looking to do nothing but relax its a great place.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
The room is very hot. Perhaps using other fans than just a ceiling fan which is set very high up in the ceiling. Not really worth nearly $200NZD per night
Friendly and accommodating staff with excellent customer service. Staff always happy to help and always with a friendly smile. Tongan food in the restaurant was excellent. Great Tongan feast and show. Fales comfortable, great shower with hot water and good nights sleep. Able to help with arranging activities. Really cheap local bus service to get into town in the daytime.
Warm atmosphere and very nice food at the resort restaurant. Staff were very helpful. It was lovely falling asleep to the sound of the roar of the ocean waves.
Snorkelling was better further down the beach closer to the marine reserve.
I liked everything about this place. The staff, food and location was perfect. We hired a Edward who was recommended by the resort for a day island tour and highly recommend for other travellers to do this. Edward was great, very informative and new his stuff.
The only thing that i didnt like was our room, the hot water could have been a bit warmer.
The dining/bar area has a panoramic view of the ocean and we saw whales migrating most days (Aug-Sept). The buildings and services were average but very clean. The staff and their willingness to ensure everyone staying there had an enjoyable time meant that we overlooked minor shortcomings and had a wonderful holiday.
The reef in front of the resort is badly damaged and the coral is mostly dead. However reasonable snorkelling could be experienced walking 20 minutes further along the coast.
Exceptional location and wonderful owners/operators. Excellent food and extraordinary whale swimming and diving.
Accommodation and facilities were good.
Service was the worst I have ever experienced in Tonga over five separate trips to the Kingdom. There was a serious lack of understanding client requirements at all three meal times. Really VERY POOR.
