The setting is idyllic with picture-postcard turquoise sea, right on the soft sand beach, all-tide swimming, and very good snorkelling just off the beach. The resort is very peaceful, quiet and feels very 'away from it all'. There are kayaks and bikes available if you want to explore further afield, but otherwise it's just a perfect place for relaxing and doing nothing much but laze around, swim, read and snorkel. It's a family run business, and the owners and staff are very attentive and helpful. If you are interested in learning more about life in Tonga (and especially Ha'apai) then the owners have many stories to tell of their experiences, and of their commitment to the place and the people. Other reviews have mentioned the 20 min or so trip from the airport as a downside, but we saw it as a plus as it added to the feeling of remoteness (and anyway the owners pick you up, so it's hardly a problem). The bungalows are spaced well apart, almost right on the beach, and very comfortable and well maintained.
