Very good position and excellent quality of the whole structure. Big room, perfect cleaning and very high level of mattress. Staff very kind and welcoming, always available for any kind of problems. Rich selection of products served in a really cozy breakfast area. The overall of this hotel is very high.
On saturday night the neighborhood is a little bit too much animated.
Staff was excellent. Helped us make reservations for dinner at delicious and good value restaurants all five nights of our stay. Booked a night for us to see the Whirling Dervishes for us as well as our bus tickets to next destination. Owner and her husband were also extremely warm and helpful, suggesting places to visit and a delicious brunch place by Rumeli Castle (It's called Sadhe Kahve). Suite was spacious, cozy, and comfortable. Nicely designed wooden and minimalist architecture. Not for people who expect luxurious rooms, but that's not what we wanted. Breakfast was good. Nice shop at the top floor of hotel, where we got our best souvenirs in Istanbul. Really high quality and reasonable prices for such high quality. Unmatched by things sold elsewhere in Istanbul, especially the various bazaars.
The rooms could have been a little less minimalist, with a bit more in the way of furniture. The couch was a bit too far from the TV, which wasn't really big enough to see well from such a distance. The place could also be a little less pricey since the rooms were not "luxurious," but I would still say well worth the money for the EXCELLENT service.
The restaurant is extremely good, I really enjoyed all of the meals I had there and the view is amazing. Great to be able to enjoy it in winter too. Room was a good size and very comfortable. Wifi also worked very well. Staff all friendly and helpful. I would definitely return and recommend!
The shower was not very good - very powerful but not remotely relaxing! Everything else great. Also the window in the room was twice left open when we got back there in the evening (not by us). Not a big issue but it did make it rather cold!
Location is good. In the heart of Galata, Beyoglu. Rooftop view was nice.
Room was dark looking to inner hole of the building. Toilets are open window and it is not very comfortable for couples.
Wè have been upgraded a supperior room even we did not ask for . Front Desk staff were eager to help ,gave us overall information about hotel and Thé district as well. It was our first time but not gonna be the last. Really enjoyed thanks. Keep it up.
Perfect location (5mn walk from the Galata tower); beautiful premises in a very old house; beautiful, comfy rooms (I took a superior room); amazing view on the Bosphorus from the cafe where you have breakfast and its roof terrace.
Was asked to pay an additional fee for a cappuccino and fried eggs at breakfast even though the room was... 140 Euro per night (!) - There is a lift inside the hotel but to enter you still need to walk up extremely steep steps, had to ask for help to carry my suitcase when this should be a given.
Autenticity of hotel, art exhibition at the basement, Restaurant at the top of the hotel, ambiance at breakfast
Too much noise and foodsteps coming from upstairs at the 4th floor
location is great, you feel that you are staying in a special place, beautifully renovated building, big superior room, big bathroom, art pieces throughout the building was excellent
avoid normal rooms whose windows look into the inner courtyard and which are dark. after seeing my first normal room, i paid the difference for a superior room and it was worth it. breakfast is served in top floor cafe which could be bettered. view and idea and art pieces are perfect, but for these room prices, a higher level of selection and service would be appreciated.
a retrofit of a historical building in a centre location, with the walls filled with art works (which I can recognise a few, real gems). The furnitures, materials and colour they used bring warm comfort and subtlety. Very eco-friendly. Plus there's an underground gallery space. It's perfect for artistic guests like architects or writers alike.
Tranquility of the place. View out over Istanbul from the rooftop restaurant. Homemade/natural ingredients in the meals served.
Can be noisy if you have a room overlooking the bars on the main street. Pricy when compared to what you can get near by e.g. 50% more expensive than the Radisson Blu (which is nice).
If you prefer authentic hotels rather than chain hotels, this is the place to be. Adahan has a rooftop restaurant that serves good food and delicious breakfast. It also has a little souvenir shop selling divers items from local artists. Staff is very helpfull.
1 - good location and neighborhood 2 - breakfast view 3 - decoration 4 - attention well for body towel for girls
1 - bad smell in spaces 2 - poor breakfast
rooms are understated, yet sophisticated; great breakfast buffet; nice rooftop terrace
for such a lovely hotel, the front desk area could use an upgrade - it feels a bit like a youth hostel upon entry; not great at making espresso drinks at the restaurant
This hotel is an old townhouse and it has been renovated beautifully by the owners. The rooms are bright and airy and the bed really comfortable. The staff and owners are so friendly, plus the restaurant/bar area at the top of the building is a real winner. Spectacular views over Istanbul. Location is close to some really good restaurants too.
There really wasn't anything we didn't like, and we'd definitely stay here again.
The location, as well as the formidable terrace overlooking Sultan Ahmed and its mosques, and further the very kind staff. Which took its time again and again to explain things, even while a telephone was ringing. Very committed, excellent people!
Beautiful view from the open terrasse over Golden Horn. Restaurant was like to be home. Sofas, books, relaxing areas and lots of arts. Very delicious breakfast.
We got a standardroom, and it was okay, except that windows was to atrium, so no daylights in our room.
The hotel reminds me of my grandmother's house it's got that feel of authenticity and warmth like an old house. Breakfast on the terrace is great and all food is organic. No chemicals used in the rooms and its very environmentally friendly. Location js excellent and there is a metro station just around the corner.
We loved the style of this hotel, bright, clean and stylish rooms. Breakfast was the best we had in Turkey and the views from the terrace were beautiful.
The roof top terrace and dining area are really great! Like chilling out in a friends livingroom.
Rooms are sparse - no frills and a bit small.
Beautiful rooftop terrace with views across the Golden Horn. The perfect place to relax with a drink or a meal all day long. The owners and staff made every effort to make us comfortable and meet our requirements.
Nothing of note.
This hotel is full of charms that it is hard to be bitter while staying there. The room was perfectly cleaned and spacious enough for my needs. The breakfast was something I looked forward to every morning up on the top floor with a stunning view of the city. The staff were great very friendly and helpful giving me directions and great advise.
I got in peak summer so always took a while for the room to cool down. I really didn't enjoy any other room among my travels across Turkey after this place.
location, architecture of bldg
broken chain in room, stuff I have asked for in reservation were not prepared in advance in room
Restaurant and rooftop bar and boutique are the cherry of this hotel. If only the service were a bit better and more attentive throughout. Beautiful building, spacious rooms and bathrooms. You can't expect everything from this place if you book the cheapest rooms. I found the upgraded midtier rooms to be airy and quiet and quite lovely.
Service in the restaurant was not so good. But it's too nice up there to care. Housekeeping service was just ok. There could be shelving in the shower to put soap and shampoo.
The Adahan isn't for everyone, but for those who appreciate a lovingly restored building with a great staff and a fantastic rooftop view, it's a wonderful place to stay
The shower drain didn't work well.
