Poor to non-existent wifi in room. Very, very poor lighting in room!
Very interesting small hotel with quirks. The positives: Hotel is
located in a good area of town, but not right “downtown” which was a
plus in our book. We had a nice sized, comfortable room; bathroom well
appointed; bed comfortable; parking right out in front of the hotel,
which is right next to a police station – we felt very secure! Staff
friendly and helpful. Nice set of double doors (only one of which
opened), which provided good fresh air and light. Negatives: Lighting.
We thought we were living in a cave, as it was actually so dark. In the
first room we were given, neither of the bedside lights worked, so we
were moved to another room where they did – but honestly, it didn’t make
all that much of a difference. This is a lovely property, light it up!
Secondly, while my iPad worked just fine on the WiFi signal, my
husband’s netbook did not. Consequently, whenever he wanted to log in,
it was necessary for him to go down to the breakfast lounge. Not an
impossible situation, but obviously the preference would be to work from
our room. (To be fair, my husband didn’t even think about Ethernet
connection, which was available, so had we had a cable with us, that
might have taken care of things.)
