Altinkoy Home Hotel

the location couldn't be better - virtually on the beach. we had an apartment with a large terrace overlooking the beach. it was one of the best accommodations we have had. you can sit out on the terrace at 6.00 pm with a drink and a book and watch the sun go down at 8pm - really idyllic. the apartment was also really good with an ample sized lounge and a big bedroom - all tastefully fitted out. the apartments - only about 10-12 in total - overlooked a coutyard area with a gorgeous warm pool. the staff were also excellent. the food was top rate and the service was beyond what we have experienced on other holidays. nothing was too much

very few dislikes as the good points significantly outweighed them. the bathroom could have been better and one had the feel that there was work in progress for the facility at the rear.

The hotel is below criticism and a 4 star ranking is a huge lie, the level of facilities and services is not up to even a 3 star one! Apart from the furniture and the decor that seems like not having been renovated for the last 20 years, the hotel is just a mess! The room had been dirty as we arrived, and was not cleaned once for the 4 days we were there (even though at the reception we were told the rooms are cleaned once in 2 days..). Naturally, neither towels, nor the linen were changed either. At our arrival before realizing what kind of place we are at we made a big mistake by giving some of our clothes for ironing. As a result we received them back 2 days later ruined by washing.. Ah, and not to forget, do not expect any hot water, as the system is heated by sun, which means luke warm water from 15 to 18 and freezing cold at all other times. So do book this hotel in case you are fond of survival adventure trips, or simply would like to ruin your holiday.
