Located at the heart of Kumkapi, Skalion Hotel combines elegance and luxury with original hand-painted oil paintings throughout the hotel.
Score from 647 reviews Very good
In the center of the historic peninsula of Sultanahmet, Amiral Palace Hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Hagia Sophia. It offers guest rooms with free Wi-Fi and has a Turkish restaurant.
Score from 183 reviews Very good
Location for the Hotel was the only plus as it is 10mins walk away from the Blue Mosque and Hajia Sofia and around 20mins walk from the grand bazzar, however no taxi driver will drop you back to the hotel they will bring you close (around 10-15mins walk) the staff were helpful but not really friendly (apart from Arkan)....
the rooms are very small (tiny) no refill for coffee or tea (had to ask every day), no complementary water (which was a shock) the breakfast was very average, overall the place is designed for a solo or couple travelling not for a family and for the price you paying i recommend paying more and getting a better room / place to stay
Everything was great
location friendly and helpful staff
Breakfast could have been better - coffee weak; fresh fruit juice was charged extra for; a toaster would have been nice. But these are minor quibbles
Excellent location for the main tourist sites. Terrace lovely for a drink and view of Istanbul.
Breakfast was chaotic. You need to get down early to get some!
The staff went out of their way to assist in any way they could. I love the Turkey people they are very warm and welcoming. I would recommend the Arden City Hotel to anyone thinking of going to Istanbul, many of the major attractions are in walking distance, eg, the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque just to name a few.
The only gripe I have is the bed was extremely hard.
The location is perfect, near most of the important sights.
The room was small and smelt bad. Our room had a bad view, although we had requested for a room with a view. Furthermore, the elevator was not functioning for a whole day.
Very friendly staff, one of the best locations in Istanbul, will revisit the hotel if the chance will bring us back there
If you have plans to visit Istanbul and are short of time, this is the place to stay. You will be in short walking distance to every must see in the city. The room is clean, breakfast is great and personnel very helpfull. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Location was the best staff very friendly .
The size of the room is way smaller than you see on the pictures
Easy walking access to all the sights, restaurants and market. Hotel also has an excellent restaurant on the rooftop which gave us a bird's eye view of the attractions.
We didn't get our wake up call.
- Staff was very knowledgable and accommodating - Location was ideal for walking to most all the historic sites
- Our room was on the 6th floor right below the restaurant and we could hear anytime chairs and tables were being moved
The staff , specially mr. Murat in the reception, was very Nice and helpfull!
The staff were particularly helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed the spacious rooms provided because I have 5 children. Rooms were newly renovated, clean and floors were wooden so easy to keep clean.
We requested early and late check in and out but not provided. Smoking was not allowed in rooms but the tenants next to us kept smoking in bathroom.
Fantastic location - couldn't be better, situated close to Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Metro. Good quality hotel, excellent value, helpful staff who facilitated our 2-day tour to Cappadocia in the middle of our 8-day stay. Breakfasts had little variety but excellent choice, restaurant clean and very professionally managed.
Can't think of anything!
Service is impecable! We arrived with their transfer car, and the tall skinny guy took our luggages right away and brought it to our room. He deserves a big raise or he should work for a higher paying hotel. Excellent shower pressure, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, huge fluffy towels. Within walking distance to Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosqué.
We booked a room with two beds and we were told that there was a double room only for the first night. It was very uncomfortable to have to share a double bed with my brother. The bathroom door was broken and didn't close. The toiletries are refilled in the little bottles, there was a pubic hair in the shampoo, gross! The following days we changed our room and got two comfortable and clean beds. Breakfast is disgusting. Dishes and cups are dirty. You have to pay 4euros for the freshly squeezed fruit juice, and you have to pay on the spot. We ordered food from the restaurant and it's gross tasted like vomit. We could hear a lot of noise from the other rooms.
Room cleaning is so bad. Room is too small. bath towels cleanliness. toilet seat cleanliness. baby cot was provided four days after arrival although requested in advance. water leakage when taking shower
The excellent position to reach all the most important sights, the great view from the roof terrace restaurant, the kind, helpful staff, the kettle in the room for making early morning tea!, and Ercan and the wonderful staff in the next-door Hammam or Turkish bath.
It was great to talk with the staff who could speak really good english and advise us on where to go and how to get there.
The very small size of the room.
Great location in the city centre and close to the main attractions. Close to the Sultahmet tramway station.
Dishes proposed at the restaurant on 7th floor were too poor and expensive! We recommend everyone to better go and eat outside the hotel! Except two or three people from hotel staff, others do not have a nice attitude to hotel customers!
The location of this hotel is fantastic, you can walk to all the sites and the environment is very safe. People have complained about the sizre of the rooms but I though they were ample, we had no issues fitting our suitcases in (had to put them on the bed to open them but we have found that common across all of europe). There was a little sitting table by the window, there was virtually no noise despite being in a bustling area and it was very clean and comfortable. I have no complaints.
They really went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and looked after. Always wanting to please the guests. The hotel was excellent quality and looked amazing. Extremely happy. Very surprised that the hotel food was inexpensive. The roof top area was excellent and the family met there to relax and have a meal each day or a drink. Views were wonderful. Like an oasis. Loved it.
