Sapphire is a classic Ottoman-style hotel just over a quarter mile from the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul’s Sultanahmet.
Score from 2540 reviews Excellent
At the heart of the Historic Peninsula in Istanbul, the World Heritage Hotel Istanbul is within walking distance of historic sites of the city, such as Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Haiga Sophia...
Score from 845 reviews Exceptional
This hotel is in the Old City of Istanbul steps from The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. It offers a rooftop terrace and 24-hour front desk.
Score from 127 reviews Wonderful
Set at the heart of Historic Peninsula, Rumours Inn is a 3-minute walk from Sultanahmet Square. The accommodations have a terrace, and free Wi-Fi is available in all areas free of charge.
Score from 648 reviews Wonderful
The hotel is comfortably located-only minutes away from all the major touristic spots. The price of it is a good surprise and the stuff are extremely helpful. During my stay it was Kadir,Ayhan,Yusuf. It was a nice experience.
Although tricky to locate, the hotel is clean, with nice décor. This is an excellent jumping off point to see the major sights of Istanbul. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is adequate, in a very nice space.
Rooms are small with few amenities. In our room, the hall lighting and television were not functioning.
The location of the hotel. Kadeer was very helpful.
Staff can be a bit pushy
Close to every major attraction
rooms needed lots of maintenance but other than that great service
perfect location, close to Hagia Sophia very friendly people, amiable service, helpful and flxible to guest needs, nice terrace, clean, offering all basic services
rooms are smal, but we came to enjoy the city, not the rooms
The hotel is very comfortable located - all the major attractions of the old city are right at your doorstep. The staff is very friendly and attentive to all your requests. I would like to particularly thank Yusuf for his warmth and hospitality - you feel like you visited your friends.
The only thing I do not like was Wi-Fi connection in the room. It was very unstable, though I could come and sit at the restaurant when I needed Internet. There connection is very good.
Excellent location. Busy during the day but still quiet at night. Friendly and helpful personal. Rooms and facilities were basic but satisfactory.
Their Wifi did not work, and they seemed to have given up on fixing that. Two power failures during our 4 day stay (one of about 10 sec, and one of about half an hour). I believe this was for the entire quarter.
-position: near Sultanahmed tram station(T1), near AyaSofia, Blue Mosque, Cistern and Topkapi palace; 1.5 hours from Sabiha Gokcen Airport (by public transport)
-very small room, old furniture, old doors, flowing sink, old drilled linen -TV not working at all -poor breakfast (same every day): chees, boiled eggs, olives, butter, jam, cucumbers and tomatoes, instant coffee -the terrace from the roof was closed
Other reviewers have already pointed out that the hotel is in an excellent location. We couldn't agree more. An elderly gent, with walking stick, was able to visit on foot all the major sights in Sultanamet . Added to this the hotel is above a narrow, traffic free street, filled with lively restaurants and cafes. The hotel rooms are small, and the wifi rather iffy, but these minor negatives were easily outweighed by the accommodating staff, especially Ayhan who, in English, helped sort out various tourist details for us.
Location is excellent for a quick tourist visit and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Good price as well compared to others I was looking at.
The breakfast was not great and the room is definitely small and well worn. But totally acceptable for the price.
- breakfast - friendly staff - you are right there in front of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia - a lot of restaurants around
Everything was perfect!!!
Comfortable hotel, friendly helpful staff. Great view while having a drink on roof terrace!
Friendly staff - nothing too much trouble. Laundry changed daily. Our air conditioned room was compact (typical of old city centre hotels) but spotlessly clean. Fluent English speaking reception staff. Try lunch or dinner in the rooftop restaurant - excellent views of the Hagia Sofia museum and the city.
breakfast staff location the street of the hotel
size of the room Wi Fi service
Excellent location near the main sights of Instambul, in an area also restricted to the main stream of traffic, with a convenient tram stop. Ask the staff to have dinner on the terrace to enjoy a spectacular view on Aya Sofia.
The bathroom was very small; the room wasn't clean at first.
I couldn't stay in Ares Hotel because my boyfriend got sick and we had to cancel our trip to Istanbul, but the staff was very kind and allowed us to reschedule it!
Very attentive personnel, beautiful location, lots of restaurants, 2-minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Sophia.
Tiny washrooms, internet is not so fast
Best place, near to every thing. Tram ,Hagia sophia, resturants
There's nothing i really liked about this hotel
The room was very small, and very noisy at night, even though i closed all the windows it was impossible to sleep. Breakfast was very poor, the worst i had in all Turkey. I don't recommend this hotel at all for the price they charge you
Excellent Location. Street environment. Owners Hospitality.
unregular Wi-fi connection.
Excellent location and friendly staff.
Very small room and same menu in breakfast everyday.
location is excellent staff are friendly service is nice value for money manager (eyup) is a brother
Comfortable place at very reasonable price within a couple of minutes walk of most of the sights of Istanbul yet off the MBB ain street so quiet once the restaurants closed.. The most impressive thing about Ares was the staff who really did go out of their way to help.
location and helpful staff. We didn't like our room because the window was looking at a wall. After 3 days we asked to change it and thankfully some others have departed and gave us a better one(minimally better one). It's a hotel to stay for only a couple of days and not for a week
Unfortunately, the hotel was way below my minimal (trust me!) expectations. The toilet did not flush properly (its button was held by glue). Breakfast was moderate to poor serving the Same things again and again. Rooms were exceptionally small and smelled of dew. Wi-fi didn't work all the time. But the worst bit was that the room was looking up at next house's wall. Shades of light were coming in. Sheets were torn and with holes. I'm sorry guys, but when i read Booking's reviews I would have thought they would be more trustworthy
