Unfortunately I must be critical to the fact that, dispite a large sign in the dining room forbidding smoking, there were a couple of tables taken where people were smoking freely without challenge. The smoke went all the way up to the corridor upstairs, so I had to close door and open the windows to breathe clean air. The hotel may not be suitable for very disable people. My mother in law had to struggle to get to her room upstairs.
The other negative point was that we were asked a couple of times to give the hotel positive feedback. Surely they more than deserve excellent feedback, but I'd rather not feel the pressure or their request.
Staff were very friendly and helpful right from the beginning. I arrived with my disable mother in law and my partner. We all loved the hotel style and the room. It looks much better on the inside than the outside. The rooms at the back face a beautiful gentle lake which you can admire also from a number of terraces with chairs. (I don't know if they have rooms facing to the front, but I would not want one of them as they face a ghastly motorway 200 metres away,) Unfortunately we arrived when the weather was turning towards cool, so no chance of sun bathing in the sandy beach below or swim in the lake. Still it was good fun to have a stroll along the beach. Food is extremely good, with a number of starters available, followed by home cooked dishes, beautiful salad and delicious hot creamy looking helva. Good tasty dishes are available for vegetarians too. I tried some and were just delicious. Staff were helpful all the time and engaged us willingly in conversation. The owers even gave us a bag of bread to feed the ducks roaming near the lake. You can have lunch or dinner in the patio outside looking down to the lake. Lovely view. There is a camping side next to the hotel, but when we got there there were no tents, so the hotel was fairly quiet in the second half of September. Overall a great experience. Would have easily given them ten out of ten score if it wasn't for the negative points mentioned in the 'What didn't you like?' section.
