Great helpful and friendly staff. I always stay at Au Pera whenever I visit Istanbul. Quiet neighboorhood and a stone's throw from the lively nightlife of Istanbul.

the room is small but very clean and cozy, bathroom is nice, bed is comfortable. staffs are super kind and talkative, also very helpful while facing a foreign solo traveler like me, helped find what I was looking for, even helped check flight schedules online for me meeting in another city! location is great, just 3 minutes walk to the busy street, surrounded by multiple kinds of restaurants, bars, and clubs, and also close to a metro station. I'd definitely stay here if I visit Istanbul again. very little dishes for breakfast, I almost didn't know what to eat just stared at the buffet table

Massive room, comfortable bed, huge bathroom (with heated floors), great shower, nice clean hotel in a reletively central part of town, very friendly and helpful staff. Strong smell of chlorine from the water in the sink. Requested a room on the quiet side of the hotel, got the street side, which was noisy! No bar/restaurant in hotel, so had to venture out for evening meals! Other than that, lovely place!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Hotel was clean, the rooms were clean and the service was excellent. We found the room clean and tidied up by the time we got back from our walk. The mini bar is cheap too! It was also quiet especially if you take into consideration the location (below Istiklal) with all the bars and clubs around. I don't know about summertime but noise-wise it was ok. A value-for-money choice for travelers and young couples who want to visit Istanbul. It is close to the Metro, at a walking distance from the Tunel and Galata bridge (and the Tram). Oh I forgot to mention... the heating was excellent, so good I thought of turning the a/c on to cool down! Given the fact that the weather was VERY cold, that is a really good thing. Though breakfast was ok, it could have more variety, it was a bit boring.

Small and cosy, staff is very friendly, hotel has character and good location, rooms were spacious (at least ours - do not know other rooms), breakfast decent but nothing too special. Not directly related to the hotel but the neighbourhood which is quite busy and nosy on the weekend days. If you are used to sleep in perfect silence than you should consider choosing this hotel, if you are a travaller which spends whole days visiting and discovering fascinating Istanbul and in the evening just long to drop dead in your bed oblivious to everythibng that is happening around you - than the noice would not be a problem. It all depends what one prefers and/or is used to. I personally liked it and the music in the evening was not a problem.

Family-suite was big and comfortable, with a big terrace. Breakfast was good and fresh. Reseptionist helped us to book excursions and trips. Terrace was very dirty at arrival, and was not cleaned during our five days there. Room cleaning was bad.

The room was nicely decorated and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The air conditioning was effective. Fast, free wifi in the room. Good quality towels. We were in a "superior double'. The room was very small with only a narrow access between the end of the bed and the narrow table/shelf, to get to the far side of the bed. There was a chair at the table but it was impossible to use it due to the narrow space. The view was of a solid wall about one meter away. The bathroom basin tap was poorly positioned and unless turned on fully water ran over the edge of the basin and over the bench. The shower had a nice spray but due to a split in the flexible hose half of the water sprayed backwards against the wall. The bed had no top sheet and only a light-weight bedspread which was only as wide as the top surface of the bed - no way would it actually cover two people lying on the bed. A sheet and extra cover were supplied cheerfully on request. There was a folding shelf for a second suitcase but the space was too narrow to actually use it, therefore that suitcase had to be accommodated under the bathroom sink. No free safe drinking water supplied.

The location was very good Did not like the noise. You could hear everything outside. At weekend all you can hear is the loud noise from the clubs. If u want to go to bed before 2.30 don't stay here. If you want to go clubbing and get in late its perfect. I know it is located in the center, but the windows are very old an yhingou can hear everyt

Great location. We had booked 2 rooms. Ours was a double which was a double bed with 2 lockers in it. Other room was 2 x singles de luxe room . It was much bigger. At weekend it's very noisy till around 2 to 3 am. No double glazing on the windows. Bring ear plugs and it will be ok. Staff good. One prob. When we arrived we had two large suitcases with us. We were finding it hard to cope with bags and cases. The 2 guys on reception just stood and stared at us with no offer of help. Breakfast was very basic but ok.

Our room was small but very clean and comfortable. For the location the price was excellent value - all other hotels in the same street are at least twice the price. Right in the heart of things in Galata, and although noise from the neighbouring clubs is a problem on Friday and Saturday nights (we were not disturbed any other nights of the week), with earplugs we weren't bothered at all. The breakfast was not really worth waking up for.
