In one word: Excellent! This small hotel is a gem in the heart of Sultanahmet. Good value for money, so clean that you can feel a nice smell in everywhere, rooms are spacious and nice decorated with confortable beds. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace is a great beggining of day with a nice Bosphorus´s view, good variety and good service. I spent 20 days in Turkey and this was the best hotel that I stayed in, even I have stayed in 5 stars hotels and in another hotel in Sultanahmet. Mehmet Kaya is really doing a great job in front of that beautiful hotel! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Berce was probably one of the best run places I think I’ve ever stayed at. The room were large and comfy for the price, nicely laid out, with it being a small guesthouse I was surprised at how good the service and amenities were - also with an excellent location a 5/10 walk to most of the sights some brilliant cafes into the smaller market in Sulthamet and to the metro which will get you into the rest of turkey - without being close to the noise and hustle and bustle as its on a really quite street. The hotel staff couldn’t help you enough - they are basically human equivalents of having a lonely planet guide in the hotel, Mehmet gave us a detailed talk about the city all the trips and places to visit and restaurants he recommended were spot on and he was always helpful and had a nice smile on his face along with the rest of the hotel staff. On a side note the breakfast was amazing - best continental ive ever had. Lots of lovely cheeses, breads, hams, omelettes, fruit veg and honey all really fresh. STAY HERE! There is nothing about this hotel that you could complain about - at all!

I liked: - just one minute to Blue Mosque & Aya Sofia, but still in a quiet corner w/ no street noise (you hear the passing train tough but it does not pass by night so sleep not a problem) - extremely friendly staff, both at reception and ladies making breakfast - cute little breakfast room on the rooftop w terrace and view of Marmara Sea - the best way to start a day

The staff is very kind. The position is really good for visiting the city staying in a rare quiet street of the chaotic and beautiful Sultanhamet. Rooms are large and provided with small terraces. The view from the roof terrace is interesting (sea on one side and Blue Mosque on the other). The breakfast level is acceptable The breakfast level is acceptable, but it could be improved with some little changes (E.G.: a better orange juice quality has a little cost but a big impact on the customer opinion)

Mehmet was a lovely host! And the laundry service is very efficient! Our room had 3 little balconies which were sweet. The room is spacious. Close to all the sites. The bathroom was very small and had very suspicious looking black edges around the tub. The hot water is inclement. The beds are really too short even for a 5 foot short person and the breakfast could do with hot eggs rather than cold. I thought perhaps if we arrived early for breakfast we'd get a warm breakfast, but whether 10:30 or 9:15, the eggs were always cold. In comparison to several other boutique hotels I've stayed at, this was very average especially for the price.

The hotel is located in the historical center, in 300 meters from Sultanahmet Meydanı. The hotel staff are very friendly and always ready to help as well as other citizens. The hotel has a terrace with a beautiful view of Bosporus and sea of Marmara. cleanliness in the bathroom was not always high. One electrical socket fell out of the wall.

Delightful family run hotel in quieter part of Sultanahmet yet still within minutes of major tourist sites. Spacious rooms which have been thoughtfully decorated and have the personal touch that large hotels tend sadly to miss. Breakfast on the rooftop (inside or out) caters for all tastes (and is tasty!), setting one up well for the day. Staff incredibly pleasant and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. In summary, the Berce Hotel fully deserves the praise it has received from other guests. We will certainly stay there again when we return to Istanbul. Highly recommend - it's a real gem!

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for a 3 night stay in Istanbul and it fulfilled all our needs perfectly. We were so close to the attractions of the city, but the hotel is down a sweet little road as though you were staying in a village. You barely hear a sound of the city around you. Only exception being from the tannoys from the surrounding mosques at prayer times, but we actually found it quite relaxing! The hotel is clean, rooms are cosy and the staff are very friendly. In particular Mehmet who is extemely attentitive and genuinely seems to care about each of his guests, treating them like friends. Highly recommended and we'll be going back ourselves in the future.

I'm extremely happy that we picked this hotel. It had excellent ratings, and they were well deserved. It is super close to the Blue Mosque but not on a busy street. It was quiet at night when we were sleeping, and the room was clean. The most remarkable part of the stay was the service. I really don't understand how he does it, but Serkan at the front desk seemed to be there 24 hours a day, so there was impeccable continuity in taking care of our needs (though we didn't have any problems that needed to be resolved). He greeted us by name when we came and went, and we enjoyed talking to him about our time in Instanbul. Breakfast was lovingly prepared every morning and the rooftop view of the ocean during breakfast is enough to make you want to live that way forever. I'll note that we stayed at a different more expensive hotel in Taksim square at the beginning of the trip and hated that one so we really appreciated how lucky we were at Berce. The 3-person room is in the basement, but it also was cheaper and we weren't in the room much in the daytime anyway, so it didn't really matter. I appreciated that the site warned us about that. It is also cooler in the basement.

This small hotel is very well located on the Sultanamet area of the city, near all the major historical sites. It is on a quiet tiny street. The rooms are comfortable with space for suitcases, nice furniture and carpets, and have tiny balconies. We had a view of the Marmara Sea from our room. There is a lovely glassed in roof top breakfast area with many choices cooked on the premises each day, views of the Blue Mosque and Sea of Marmara, and great honey from the owner's village. The staff, especially Mehmet, is extremely helpful.

I'll Ed our room. It had a sitting area, three balconies, nice decorations, and comfortable beds. In addition the breakfast was outstanding and the staff was great! Mold in the shower (a minor annoyance).

A relaxing oasis in an amazing, exciting but tremendously busy city. Quality accommodation with well informed and helpful staff - especially Mehmet on reception. Excellent breakfast on roof terrace with spectacular views of Sea of Marmara and the Bosphorus. Pre-dinner evening drinks on the roof terrace where we were able to supply our own drinks - perfect!
