First of all the staff were all fantastic. They will go out of their way to help you. When we arrived we noticed our room was small and told the staff. The next day we were moved to a bigger room at no extra cost for 6 nights. Breakfast was so yummy- loved it. The furnishings if the hotel was gorgeous. Hotel very central to everything.

You can hear noise from other rooms. Pillows are uncomfortable. Air conditioner would go off once you remove your card from the slot but that was easily fixed we got a second card kept it in slot so airco stayed on while we went out

Nice location and friendly staff are the main positive feature.

Rooms are so small and even the elevator so tiny that we had to leave our baby stroller down stairs. The hotel taxi is expensive almost three times the cost of regular ones.

Beautiful hotel with good-looking room and very comfortable beds/pillows. Good breakfast with turkish food (very tasty) but alternatives for everyone. Great location near most of the main city touristic spots, restaurants and transportation. Very kind staff, always helpful. Wifi everywhere. Definitely recommend it.

Room with poor soundproofing, althoug we could always sleep well since the main noise came from adjacent rooms, not from the street. Limited storage space. The rooms were always too hot when we arrived at night since the AC only worked with the key in the cardholder (we tried to put a different card in the slot but that wouldn't work).

Fantastic position: very close to Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Blue Mosque and Basilica Cistern, but also to the Tramvay T1 stop to explore other places of the city Very good and clean room Personnel nice and with willingness to help you (Ersin, Onder and Arzu!) In a commercial street with many high quality shops and restaurants Adequate breackfast

    Nothing, everything was very good

Almost everything you want to see is within easy walking distance. The staff is very helpful, alert and keen to please. The breakfast is abundant and delicious - something to please everyone. Rooms are spotless. When we go back to Istanbul, we will stay here!

The only odd note was that while there was a fresh sheet on the bed everyday, there was no "top" sheet as Americans know it. Instead there was a light, but rather rough, cotton "blanket." This "blanket" was always fresh, but it was a tiny-bit scratchy.

Excellent location and easy access to all the main tourist spots. The staff were pleasant and tried to help wherever they could assist. We arrived at 7:30 in the morning and were disappointed that our room was not available for an early check-in. However, we were then given a comp full breakfast - a great way to start of the day! The staff were always helpful by gaving us tips when they saw us walking out, enquiring where we have been and then advising us on other close places that we could visit. The rooms were neat, clean and all bathroom amenities were attended too. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all!

The location was perfect: a short walk to Topkapi, Aya Sofia, and the Blue Mosque, and one block from a tram stop that takes you to the Grand Bazaar, Galata, and other locations. Can also walk to the Bosphorus cruise boats. Very close to a number of good restaurants, especially Imbat and Pasazade. The staff was outstanding--very friendly and very responsive. Cleanliness was quite good, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good temperature and pressure, and everything worked. The breakfast buffet (included) was excellent, with a big variety.

    The rooms are somewhat small.

Warm welcome by hotel staff, good location in city center, easy to get from airport by public transport, irish pub 20 meters left;)) Nice, clean rooms Late ckeck out, we had at 14

We didnt guess how to turn off air conditioner without removing room card from cardholder Room size was not very big, but i think its ok for city center hotel and this price;)))

Sounds of the tram did wake us up, small rooms, wifi was in and out

Service of staff was very good and welcoming. Room a bit too warm (we needed air-con on almost at all times. The value for money is very good if you want to only visit the historical centre.

Although staff was very helpful the hotel still lacks in certain things to make the service better: i.e.: Agreements to get tickets for main attractions (sultanahmet, topkapi, hagia sofia, etc) of the city instead of queuing up all the time. Prices of tours were too expensive (no special agreements). In examples: boat tour 50 Liras Vs 4 liras per person on the normal ferry that goes along the exact same places and takes the exact same time (2 hrs). High cost for shuttle bus (7 eur pp) (that stops in every hotel) Vs Metro (2 eur) that takes exactly same amount of time (under 1 hr) Vs private shuttle (30 eur). Wrong indications regarding price to expect for a taxi ride from Taksim to the hotel (5 minute taxi ride) at 25 Liras when you can get it for around 15 liras. These are little things but important to take into consideration when you want to achieve the highest Customer Safisfaction - great rooms/clean/internet/breakfast is not enough Nowadays.

Our stay in the Black Tulip Hotel was only 3 nights but we can review as perfectly excellent. We were really impressed with everything. Berakfest were fantastic, I am keen on turkish cuisine so I wish breakfest was served 5 times a day not just in the morning...the staff was always very helpful and very kind, especially Mert and Ersin. Our flight was very early in the morning so we had to check out before breakfest but the hotel staff organized and prepared marvellous, fresh, very big, and extremely tasty sandwiches so we could take our ''breakfast box'' with us :). I really highly recommend the Black Tulip Hotel for those who like to have nice, charming and quiet atmosphere in the heart of old, historical town of one of the biggest cities in the world.

I can't begin to list all the wonderful things about this small hotel. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Starting with the pre-arranged airport/hotel transfer, everything was wonderful. The staff is incredible! They were all so friendly and helpful. Ersin, the Front Desk Clerk, was especially helpful as was the Manager. The staff spoke excellent English and gave excellent directions and suggestions. The location of the hotel is the very best in the city for visiting the main tourist sites. It is right on the central tram line and the tram stop is very close to the front door of the hotel. Sightseeing for the main attractions can easily be done on foot from the hotel. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was very nice and again, the serving staff was excellent. There was an amazing variety of food and it all was very appetizing. The rooms are not large, but they are modern and nicely furnished. The bathrooms are particularly nice, with beautiful fixtures. We have stayed in hotels all around the world and Hotel Black Tulip is on the top of the list of our favorites. It is not the most luxurious place we've ever stayed, but the value for money is incredible. We're looking forward to staying there again the next time we can travel to Istanbul.

The only thing we wished for was that we would like to have stayed much longer! This hotel is an absolute jewel.

The room looks new and clean. The staffs are all good especially the bell-boy. I highly recommended the hotel.

I stay single room. Be cautioned that the bathroom screen is very small. You will have trouble if you are of big size.
