The best part of this hotel is the wonderful staff that work in the restaurant below the hotel. The room itself was clean, and the location of the hotel is fantastic if you plan to visit tourist attractions.
1) This is the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in. The building next door is under construction, and the building on the other side runs a business that involves a lot of power tools. 2) The air conditioning was programmed and couldn’t be changed so we had to get the hotel staff to come to our room every night to lower the temperature. 3) To get to the reception area, you have to go through the restaurant and then through a door that opens to stairs that lead to the reception area. There is an elevator available at that point. The stairs are not a big deal for most people, but they are not convenient if you have a stroller. 4) A bigger issue for us – the door between the restaurant and the hotel is locked at night. The night staff is supposed to unlock it when needed, but no one was there when we wanted to go for a walk one night. We were stuck in the hotel. 5) A previous reviewer had mentioned the hotel being closed without notice because of a gas leak. I emailed the hotel about this before our trip, and they responded that the problem had been taken care of. However, we were asked to leave our hotel room one afternoon because “the police have to check the gas.” We were told we could return about an hour later.
The location is excellent, close to everything specially the tram.
The towels were very shabby and looked so dirty we felt disgusted while using them. After 9:00 am they stop refilling the buffet for breakfast, although a lot of people are having there breakfast at that time, they don't even refill the tea!
What I liked? Location - wonderful. High level of cleanliness. Breakfast - Excellent. Staff smiling and welcoming. Finally, the hotel manager pleasant and professional . Criticism seems written by a source close to the hotel owner? Not at all!
Super location, fantastic brekafast, nice room!
Excellent location near all tourist attractions in SultanAhmet area. Got a superb room in the 6th floor with an amazing view. The staff was friendly, casual and really helpful. I loved this place, highly recommended.
Polite and helpful Staff. Cleaner than clean. Upper floor away from hustle and bustle. Quiet at night. Accepted all currencies and cards for payment.
Low price booked on line. Price raised by £10 stirling per night for extended stay 10 nights. Bottle of wine offered as compensation did not materialise. Resteraunt over-priced for Dinner. Dinner below average standard.
Great Location and value for money
it is a clean hotel, very good and helpful stuff ; great location, nice breakfast the working team is very freindly
the room is small
kind staff, great location if you're there to do sightseeing, great value for money and good breakfast!
For someone who knows Istanbul and doesn't want to spend time in the touristy areas, this might not be the right location. Smaller than expected rooms, but nothing wrong with them. There was a little hiccup in the checkout regarding the total amount of the stay (which was paid through Booking.com), but was easily resolved, so no real negative comments.
everyone was friendly and helpful during and the staff could speak English unlike any other hotel I have stayed in Istanbul.
Finding the hotel was kinda hard even tho it was right at the Gulhane metro stop. The signage was out of eye level.
Great location.. Awesome views. Great staff. Great bar/restaurant..
Attempted to fumigate the room - while we were still in it!??
Loved the room, so perfect, room was a great size, there was a tiny bit of street noise being so close the tram, but did not wake us, the restaurant downstairs was Devine!!! The food was the best we had in turkey, we were very happy with everything. Everyone was lovely and helpful. The walls a thin but if the other guests are quiet this is not an issue, I guess you only find out they are thin if your neighbors are up until 1am laughing loudly! But as we were also awake we didn't really mind. :D
Everything is awosome
Hotel doesn't have private parking!
Modern, functional and good rooms with value for money and great location.
Some may find toillet disturbing, since its only seperated by glass door, but it is not to bad.
The Blu Hotel is very well located in the historical center of Istanbul. The staff is really friendly and professional. The restaurant is great and the breakfast is amazing.
Nothing bad to say, everything was perfect.
a super nice hotel within a walking distance from the main attractions. The room was very comfy, clean and cozy. Though the windows were over a tram line and it could be sometimess too noisy in the mornings and evenings this should not be a problem since you spend all days out in the city. The hotel offered quite abundant breakfast. The personnel is friendly and helpful.
Staffs were super helpful. The location was great...it was just next to the topkapi palace...and about a 5 mins walk to hagia sophia and the blue mosque. I would recommend it to my family members.
Location is excellent.
+ Windows are not well made: they look new but with big gap. so heater did not work properly as cold wind comes from the gap. + hotel restaurant offers 15% discount but they then add 10% service fee in the bill.
Staff were very nice and helped us with almost anything we needed.
I stayed in the suite room which provides spacious and comfort. Even though room rate is somehow expensive compares to other hotel or other rooms, if you see the view from the open and spacious balcony we will feel its worth for that amount.
From the ground floor to the reception which is in the 1st floor, there is no elevator. However, the staffs are very helpful to move all the necessary things (luggage, baby stroller)
