Score from 167 reviews Very good
The location is excellent very close to Ayasophia, Topkapi & Sultanahmet!! All surrounding streets have shops restaurants and traditional style architecture. You could spend at least two days just walking around the area & not using any kind of public transportation! The staff is very friendly & helpful. Very nice view from the Breakfast terrace. Our room was very small but you could ask & pay for a larger room. Good every day cleaning of the rooms. Would stay there again.
Most rooms are very small. In our room the refrigerator could not open all the way as the bed was in the way & it was not possible for two people to move around at the same time. There was no space for our luggage so we placed it on top of the closet which was never cleaned before and there was a lot of dust on top (otherwise the cleaning of the rooms is good). A few things in the room and bathroom could be repaired. The shelf from the bathroom mirror was broken and also the mirror was not mounted properly. You could spend some time until you figure out how the television is working. Although there is a kettle for making tea & coffee there is no electrical outlet close to it. Breakfast is ok but not as good as expected. There's wide range of food and drinks but unfortunately most of them are of poor quality.
location is very near restaurants, blue mosque, hagia sofia and tram line staff were excellent easy to arrange transportation to airport
The hotel is in the main strip of the old centre, surrounded by excellent restaurants, shops and great tourist spots (mosques). The room was small but comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was very decent.
I was a solo traveler so it didn't affect me too much but the room was very small. With a suitcase on the ground, it was hard to move freely- I couldn't imagine 2 suitcases in there. Wifi was sometimes an issue but this affected the whole area not just this hotel. The balcony off my room was not private as it was more a bottom 'landing' with 2 other bedroom doors opening up to it.
Staff - Especially Arkan. Location - awesome. Tour arrangement & advice Terrace - Sea view
poor WI, but I think is in general the whole country, since I was in other hotels and it was the same issue
Location was great, you can go walking to the main sights in the old city and then take the tram to many places
Location is perfect to explore the basic touristic sights. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Bed is particularly comfortable! Reasonable price because of the lovely location.
The room was noisy all the time, even late at night. I think (not sure) the noise came from inside the hotel (kitchen, reception maybe?) and the garden. Probably if you ask for a room on the 2nd floor it's much better. Breakfast is OK but not as good as expected. There's wide range of food and drinks but unfortunately most of them are of poor quality. If you get a room with terrace don't be surprised if someone is smoking in front of your window because the terrace is shared! It was a bit scary for us. I'd ask for a room without a terrace. WiFi is poor in rooms, at reception it works perfectly.
The staff was very helpful and the location was excellent. Excellent buffet breakfast with beautiful rooftop view.
A few things in the room and bathroom could be repaired. Showerhead was falling off, television was not working.
People were very helpful and friendly. Location is just great, and hotel was not bad. In general we were very glad that we stayed there.
location was good
istanbul is too expensive city than other cities in turkey. Regarding to that point and location of hotel , this hotel was not expensive than quality of room.
Friendly excellent service
The staff at Broken Column was superb, particularly Hanak at the desk. He was helpful, informative and quite engaging in our several discussions. We felt very much at home in the comfort of this hotel. The location, of course, in the heart of Sultanahmet, can't be beat.
Lovely variety of cooked egg dishes for breakfast as well as lots of cheeses, bread, salad etc. Staff were really helpful
No fresh orange juice for breakfast
Breakfast and staff was good. Manager was very kind and apologetic the day after we checked out early because of state of our room. He said if he was there he would have fixed it. I marked that would recommend it based on the people there, not the room I experienced
Dirty soap and papers in bathroom when we checked in to room Sydney. Shower did not drain well, has to stand in 4 inches of water in an already dirty bath. Wifi was non existent in our room.
Staff was very nice and very helpful. Nice terrace breakfast with good variety. 5 min walk to Blue mosque/Hagia Sofia.
The room was not so clean. Refrigerator broken and took a couple of days to fix. In house restaurant not the best, but fairly good prices.
very good location Staff Breakfast comfortable room
Jenkis is a gem!! Great location. Good breakfast.
Location and Breakfast
The room assigned A/C was not working and it was 90 Degrees outside After quite reluctance we were given another room , A/C was a little better We were there for 5 days and on the last day, There is no water in the morning, I was told it was the whole area without Water , it was restored after couple of hours
The Few. Breakfast
Room was comfortable and clean; the inclusive breakfast was superb: everything one could possibly want and in unlimited quantities; the manager, Mr Ciftli was pleasant and helpful. Fantastic location a couple of hundred metres from Blue and Grand Mosques.
Nice people U
Location, approach of staff
Not all facilities in bathroom worked
rooftop balcony for breakfast!
the shower fixtures were too complex for the small space :(
I only stayed one night, but definitely value for money. I loved the location mainly. The rooms were lovely, clean and not at all what I expected for a 3 star rated hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Free wifi just topped everything off. Breakfast was good and had the most stunning views. Small boutique hotel but would definitely stay there again!
