This house is great for young couple specially on the top suite with breathtaking view to Golden horn. Good Wifi coverage. Nice family running the place. الفندق ممتاز للسكن بدون اطفال او عائلة خاصة الجناح في الطابق العلوي لشخصين. العائلة المالكة جداً متعاونين وراقين. اشارة الواي فاي ممتازة في الغرف والمطعم
Location of the house is bad in the middle of poor neighbors and hard to find it. no elevator. not good for families. not too dangerous to walk around but still not safe as well.
The location is fantastic -- what a scene from the windows! Of course, to get to such a high place you'll have to walk uphill (or take a taxi), even though places like Eminönü or the Grand Bazaar are not so far away as it might seem. The staff were very friendly.
we didnt mind the steps but just to make people aware there were 66 steps which may cause a problem if you have knee issues but i loved our stay
The view is the best thing about the hotel. Lale and Deniz are the most kind hearted and helpful people. The breakfast is tasty. The hotel is close to everything and in the middle of istanbul. Such a magical and modest hotel.
View of the Golden Horn was sensational and the location was rundown but close to the Spice Market and Suley Mosque.
Misrepresentation in the advertising: 1st: there is no functional restaurant here; 2nd: these are not "apartments": they are bedrooms with a tiny (and I mean tiny) bathroom; 3rd: only one person works here, and he does not speak English or German--he is kind but unhelpful; 4th: the breakfast is very basic and not flexible; 5th: they advertise round-trip car service from the airport but in fact it is one way, and we were misled into paying an unfair 90 liars (£30) for a simple supper upon our arrival--to recoup the cost of the taxi. VIEW IN PERSON before you pay!!
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, and the location is spectacular: the immediate surroundings are pretty run down, but you just have to walk around the corner to Süleymaniye Mosque and Istanbul University, and the view across the Golden Horn is breathtaking. The hotel itself is in one of the few remaining old residential buildings in the centre of Istanbul, and the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast includes typical Turkish fare as well and jam and toast, and there's plenty of it; it really sets you up for the day. The courtesy transport from the airport was a great help, and they booked the return taxi for us too.
The evening meal we had was overpriced and ordinary, to say the least. There was a power cut that evening so that might have had something to do with it, but you can get better value and quality just round the corner near Süleymaniye Mosque.
Everything very good, very nice view, not far from metro station, good breakfast with home made delicatessen
No wifi first day
I travelled on my own with our 14 month old daughter. The staff were very friendly and really great with the baby! They always took the time to say hi and help with anything. The Premium Double room has an amazing view and is very big. Breakfast was good too! And whenever you're ready for it.. Great if you like a personal service. Only four rooms, so there's always help if you need it.
No lift was a bit of a drag. Although the staff help with luggage.. The area is quite run down and it takes quite a walk to get to anything. A lot of cab drivers etc. don't know where the hotel is. We were left 'near' to it and had to find our own way another 10 minutes walk..
Very friendly excellent service
Lale and her family went far out of their way for me as I came down with the flu as I arrived in Istanbul. They quite babied me back to health in a few days.
Everything in Istanbul is uphill from where you happen to be.......(both ways).
The view...the spacious room...
The tv did not work...no good Internet connection in our room...cigarette smoke in the eating area and hallways...very hard for taxis to find the house
Everything about this place was excellent. Lale and her family were such gracious hosts - the food was delicious, and they were always on hand to answer any questions or help us plan our day. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous - the top floor suite is very spacious, beautifully decorated, and boasts one of the best views of the Bosphorus Sea ever; the sunrises were incredible. It was not in Sultanahmet which we loved as that part of town was too intense and crazy for us - here was quiet, quaint, and just perfect to explore the great city of Istanbul.
I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the University which I went to each day. The staff (a family run establishment) are helpful, considerate and interesting people. My room was great, with magnificent views, and a wonderful breeze in the evening even on the hottest day. As a woman travelling on my own I felt respected and was made to feel at home.
1. I was the only guest in the hotel (more a B&B which I was looking for), which may not be strange given it was the height of summer. 2.The price of water from the minibar was too much for the establishment. A similar problem throughout Turkey however, where 500ml water costs 0.5 TL. Some hotels provide it for free, which is sensible given the heat in summer, but others charge 2 TL. Even worse, sparkling mineral water is also only 0.5 TL in a shop, but here 3 TL.
