Have stayed in this hotel three times and it is always a totally enjoyable experience. On our recent stay we were joined by our son and his wife who were made especially welcome - our rooms were of a high standard and fruit baskets were provided. The breakfasts are fantastic with a huge selection of foods; we dined twice in the rooftop restaurant which was good too and the view at evening and at night superb. Location is all one could wish for being close to all attractions in the Old city and a short walk from the water front activities. Staff are efficient and friendly, also knowledgeable about which attractions are open when. Not to be missed.

The staff was very courteous, helpful and professional. Aziz, at the front desk, was especially nice. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was very good and the option of the rooftop dining afforded spectacular views in the evening. The proximity of the hotel to all the major sights in the Old Town was especially convenient. We exercised the option of a transfer from the airport to the hotel upon our arrival. This was most helpful. We highly recommend The Celal Sultan!

It was central to the city sites and the restaurants were good in the surrounding area. The only complaint we have was the taxi ride back to the airport by the taxi company you arranged for us. He drove far to fast on the wet roads and put our lives at risk.

Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Location. WiFi availability. Use of Euros instead of Turkish Lira with poor exchange rate. The shower was dated and leaked badly. The carpet had holes in it.

We chose Celal Sultan Hotel for its location and value for money. Location for visiting the old city is excellent. Easy walking distance to all major points of interest in the old city. Easy access to the airport. Courteous and most helpful staff with excellent command of English.

I loved the Celal Sultan hotel for its excellent location and wonderful staff. It's a little expensive for what it offers. The terrace restaurant doesn't have very good food and no choices for a vegetarian like me.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the old city and next to the tram. 10 mins walk from the port. We booked a double bed, however the bed was 3/4 size and the room was very small. We complained and were moved to a room with two single beds. Not ideal, and nothing taken off the bill. It's an old traditional hotel, however they should state the size of the bed and room as this is unusual in this day and age.

Hotel was clean and accomodating. Beware when you book hotel of the currency you are being charged. I booked my room unknowingly under the Euro while my friend who had the exact same room booked in US currency. I paid $600. more for the same room. Hotel would not correct the billing. Valuable lesson learned when booking in another country.

Perfect location and very friendly and helpful staff. You are in a walking distance from the most famous Instabul attractions and also from the tram stop . Beautiful hotel , very good breakfast , nice terrace on the top floor , with amazing view of S. Sophia. Rooms and bedrooms are clean. We hot a triple room , with beautiful view , the 3 bed is smaller than a normal ones, but very confortable anyway . Better to ask for a room not close to the elevator , sometimes you can hear the noise .

The hotel staff were very pleasant, willing to answer any questions and could book some excursions/shows for us. The location was excellent as we could walk to all the main sights of Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, TopKapi and the Basilica Cistern which is just a minute away. The breakfast had good variety, tasty and platters were replenished regularly. My only suggestion would be to serve breakfast up on the terrace with the beautiful views of the city. It seemed that it was not used to its full advantage.

Situation (right next to the Agia Sofia), design (charming), atmosphere. Also I have stayed there before and it has happy memories for me. This visit was in January and Istanbul was in the middle of a snowstorm, so the conditions were quite exceptional, but it did feel a bit cold in the hotel room at times.

An amazing hotel to stay in for vacation or business trip. Excellent service, reception that makes a difference, a wonderful terrace restaurant with a magnificent view that anyone should definitely enjoy. Absolutely a place we would visit again and recommend to visitors from all over the world. So close to Agia Sofia and Blue Mosque...an excellent choice!!

“The hotel was clean and food was really good, sightseeing was within easy reach from the hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and they booked our restaurants/ taxis / transport to places we wished to visit outside the area. One member of staff who deserves recognition and went far beyond the call of duty was a young man called Fikret. We are so thankful for his honesty & support with a problem we had (self inflicted) and cannot praise him enough.” |carol, Uzumlu Fethiye |
