Location is perfect: near Hagia Sofia but in a rather quiet side street !
Terace could not be used for breakfast !
Location, location. The breakfast was very generous too. Rooftop terrace has great views to the Aya Sofya. Foyer also very welcoming. Bag porter very friendly and accomodating.
Thought the room was a bit of a let down. When I arrived in the room, the bed looked ruffled - not well made. The bedding looked like it was ready for replacement. We were also only given half a sheet to cover ourselves at night. Noise from outside in the evening (thursday 28) - lots of machinery and yelling - kept us awake. Expected more from this hotel. A little disappointed.
Location, food, staff
No attention to special requests, overlooking a very noisy street, small rooms
Very helpful receptionist Ahmet First rate staff
No view from room window No bathtub
hotel in general, location, staff friendly and helpful, they allowed us to keep our room an extra couple of hours before checking out. All sights and transport system within easy walking distance. i thought the hotel was a bit quirky giving it lots of character.
could not get an iron or ironing board, no hair conditioner just shampoo, no full mirror, no bathrobes. Hotel private transport to the airport a bit pricey we got a Taxi trouble free and cheaper. Booked a table on the roof terrace for our first evening, chef was sick was not informed on arrival, no substitute chef so restaurant closed. Went in the afternoon to the roof terrace for a drink no staff not much choice of drinks it looked closed not opened went downstairs to ask for somebody, they eventually arrived they had to go back downstairs to the bar to make our drinks and come back up, bar on roof terrace not open or stocked, surprising being full season.
The staff are friendly, helpful and made our stay in Istanbul a real pleasure. They went out of their way to assist us, and that level of assistance was beyond the call of duty. It is their friendly manner that would have us staying at the Celal Sultan Hotel again.
There is no real negative apart from the fact the Wi-Fi is not always available.
Everything was fine. Very patient staff.Even a great view from the roof-top.
The hotel has a computer available for guests but it is not connected to a printer. It's slightly complicated printing boarding passes for flights though the reception staff manage to find the solution.
They make you pay for any additional person even if you do not need additional bed The bathrooms have no lock
Great location Nice rooms We had a view of the Hagia Sophia! Really friendly and helpful staff Lots of choice at the breakfast Buffett (unusual for Turkish breakfast) I'd stay there again
The location of this hotel was excellent, we had a room that looked out onto the Hagia Sophia.
We had a superior room which was good but our friends had a regular room which was very small.
location breakfast clean
poor view from room air condition in summer is a must
Gorgeous hotel. rest in August. Perfect location just 5 minutes from Sultanahmet Square, where the main attractions. The view from the open terrace at Saint Sofia does anyone indifferent. I would like to mention excellent service. Always help, prompt how to get where you want. Cleaning is made every day and qualitatively. Hotel have only positive impression. the only thing that remains little understood, is that for the mini-bar pay in any case, even if you do not use it. But since the price was only 15 lira (5evro) did not argue and paid :) Maybe breakfasts and diversity did not differ, but always for breakfast was fresh fruit (watermelon, cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots) This is a very nice hotel in terms of price quality. Even exceeded expectations.
For us it a Was very central which is important to us
Silent and comfortable...
I love this hotel. Everything is so elegant and nice.
Location, location, location Restaurant - plenty of choice. Ate in all 4 nights of our stay.
Amazing location, roof top terrace overlooking Hagia Sofia was magnificent. The room was large, very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was varied, fresh and delicious, served in a lovely setting. Staff generally very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
My only criticism was that on arrival, very hot and weary we were immediately subjected to a "hard sell" of available tours. No interest was shown in what we wanted to do. When we chose not to take a tour the staff member became unfriendly and contemptuous for the remainder of our stay. A shame as everything else was faultless.
Amazing location in a quiet street with easy access to museums and lots of cafés and restaurants. Beautiful terrace with the view over Hagia Sophia.
Breakfast is very plain. Internet connectivity is very poor.
Pleasant hotel. Staff had a genuine personal manner. Quirky decor. Something of a boutique hotel. Highly recommended
WiFi could be better in rooms
We stayed there three times in a month - staff were so welcoming and accommodating and on our third visit, left platter of fruit & nuts in our room
Staff helped with any request. Position
Very well located, incredibly convenient for main sites and restaurants. The roof top terrace has a lovely relaxed atmosphere to sit out and look out over the historic skyline at night.
The location and the breakfast.
The rooms are very small.
The room was disappointing. The photos on the web site were creatively taken so misleading.
It's literally right down the block from the Hagia Sophia and the Cistern. You turn right going out of the hotel then a quick left and you are practically standing in front of the Cistern. The staff was very friendly, they treated very nice, they were accommodating. The top of the hotel (which is a bar and restaurant) overlooks the Hagia Sophia and at night it is a priceless photograph.
The elevator is small. Nothing to do with the hotel but some of the street vendors are very pushy.
