I stayed an extra night and I wish that I didn't have to leave! Ekrem the guys who runs the place picked me up from the bus station and checked me into a room hours before check in time, he also arranged some great trips for me and a balloon trip. Good breakfast with a great view. I slept in a cave room and had a great nights' sleep every night, there was always hot water. The hotel is very close to the town centre and the bus station. Loved it! I'm coming back next year!
+The callenge of getting up aerlier than other guests in order to be able to get some bread slices and a boiled egg as breakfast. +Realizing that there are many more hotels in Göreme and Uchisar.
-Poor breakfast. -Indecent WiFi signal quality (better on the street than on the rooms). -No room cleaning service. -Humid, stinky bathroom with moldy flip-flops. The shower is a hole by the toilet (I have photos to prove all this but unfortunately I can no attach them). -It is advertised as hotel but once there we discovered that it was a "pansiyon" (turkish equivalent to hostel). -There is no private parking. It can be difficult to park on the street because there is place for just 4 cars near the so-called hotel.
No room service same sheets and towels for three days which wasn't nice in the damp conditions of the room.
The owner was very helpful, picking us up from the bus stop on arrival, and gave us lots of information about things to do. The cave room was really comfortable and it was a great experience.
As the name says, it`s a cave hotel! Awesome experience!
The suite caves are engraved in the mountain and very well decorated
The owner might seem a bit pushy at first but is just a matter of style and is a very nice guy
Staying in a cave is definitely an experience! The cave rooms are spacious, clean, and lovely and cool inside, especially in the summer months. We even had a lovely little porch just outside the room. Ekrem, the owner, was very helpful in advising and arranging tours and day trips for us. He even took us around on a private tour, which was fantastic. Overlook the fact the car could use a little work, because you wouldn't want to take a new car around the places you'd like to see in Cappadocia.Ekrem showed an intimate knowledge of the local area, particularly with reference to the areas that tourists would be interested in seeing. The upstairs terrace and porch outside our room also provided good vantage points for watching the hot air balloons go up at sunrise. The provided breakfast was also nice. Overall a pleasant stay; would recommend!
Only a minor gripe, but there was no access to clean drinking water from the rooms. It would've been nice to have had a communal tank somewhere for the guests to get their drinking water, or perhaps kettles in the rooms. Moreover, the airport transfer we had arranged showed up after two hours of waiting due to a 'mistake' - I really think this could have been handled better.
Eko, the owner of the hotel, has done a big effort to find us an alternative when the hotel was full, and he even helped us a lot giving advices about visiting the place and the ruins. We are most grateful to him.
maybe too many stairs, but it's unavoidable in a cave...
Other rooms seemed to have better ventilation.
Our room had a very small window and therefore was very moist inside from being a cave.
Excellent position, wonderful experience inside real cave rooms
Humidity in the rooms
The staff very fluent in English. Very good giving sugestions for places to see in capadokia.
There was no diary cleaning.
It's so humid its hard to sleep. They didn't have our room ready the day we arrived, and they put us in a "brand new" room... which was a humid storing hole minutes before we arrived (they delayed our check-in until 4:00 pm). There was mold all over the place and the floor was all wet. We had to change room, the second one wasn't any cleaner of even dry.
Room very tipical and particulary. Manager has bought tabacco for us and joking a lot.
Cave room big and cool. Nice view. Staff very friendly. Price.
Non-cave rooms very hot and without aircon. Poor breakfast. No wifi in most of the rooms. Tour prices 20% higher than at the travel agency. They use Yama tours which provides very poor tours (not recommended).
Helpful staff, very nice view over the area
The location wasn't bad, the staff was friendly and the room was more or less clean. Awesome open shower.
We booked the standard room. It was pretty hot since there was no air con. They didn't even provide a fan. The furniture looked like they hadn't been dusted in a while. Even the sheets, although a pristine white, seemed a bit dusty. I guess most people don't book the standard room.
Good stuff offer all info you need, nice cave room, good breakfast and GOOD VIEW for hot-air ballons in early morning.
wifi was not working inside my room, had to go out for wifi, and sometime the hot water is not stably supplied. But in all, it was a good and wonderful stay there.
I previously stayed at this hotel in October 2013 and they have since renovated the rooms. WOW! The hotel is centrally located in the town and from the perspective of a solo traveler, safe, which is important. The breakfast offered - fresh fruit, all the yummy Turkish foods expected, truly fabulous tasting rolls, and eggs - was stepped up. Everything was fresh and delicious. The renovated room I had was a gorgeous! cave room, super clean and with a very comfortable double bed, and a porch off of the room that was a perfect place to read, and a roomy bathroom. There is a great view from the breakfast room where you can watch the early morning balloons from - and this existed from my room porch as well. Although I did not need assistance with touring since I've been to this town multiple times, the hotel can do this for you. I would now definitely recommend this hotel to my friends!
Very cute and cozy cave rooms, beautiful view from the terrace, tasty breakfast and friendly stuff. We really enjoy these 4 days in Goreme!
Very nice place, excellent view from the breakfast terrace to Capadoccia and the baloons flying in the mornig. Staff is very helpful, the owner upon our arrival took his time to exaplain us all the places we should visit, even without us asking. Rooms are clean and were ready on time. Cave room does not differ much form regular room, is warm and cozy.
The breakfast was nice and the view is great.
It needs a woman's touch.
I have mixed feelings about my stay at Coco Cave. The price was very good and I was happy that it included breakfast (more on this later). The room was a good size with a large bathroom and there was a lovely view of the fairy chimneys from the terrace and our room.
The owner was extremely pushy about us booking our balloon tour through him. We stayed for three weeks and were asked daily about the tour, we kept telling him we’d prefer to book when the weather was good but he was quite insistent and seemed desperate to get our booking. We ended up going with someone offering better prices (80 euro pp with Balloon Turca). We also overheard him being forceful with booking a Hammam trip on a family who were just checking in, the man said he was tired and maybe would go tomorrow but the owner kept insisting “no you are tired, you must go now, you will relax”. It was awkward, they had no way of saying no. The bathroom had a terrible smell that made me nauseous, it was very damp (as to be expected from a cave). The bottom sheet on the bed was not fitted so I’d wake up laying on the grey mattress which was quite disgusting. The breakfast was a bit hit and miss. It wasn’t as pictured on booking.com but this could have been due to the fact that it was off-season. Some days we were given a good portion of yogurt, but a lot of the time we were given just the yogurt water that sits on the top of the container. We were also given boiled eggs that when cracked were only half cooked (whites still runny). Not sure if this is the way the turkish like their eggs though? Wifi was very patchy but was a common problem throughout the town. Overall, it would have been fine for a short stay. After spending 9 weeks in Turkey, I have now realised that we probably could have found somewhere better for the same price.
Just rebuilding,single room,double bed!
Staff very friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and warm. Beautiful view from breakfast room. Breakfast was plentiful, and you could make tea and coffee during your stay.
I liked the view from the terrace and breakfast
We had no access to wifi from the room, the room was dirty and unfinished because they were doing construction, the shower was broken and the heating was inadequate. Worst of all is that I had no service for luggage and our luggage was left all day in the common room.
