nice place, helpful staff, and very good location.
The place feels narrow.
Lovely, friendly, sympathetic, VERY helpful staff Nice location Great interior design
I put "fair" for facilities; the only reason for that is the heat for sure. Must do something about the heating system if you want a 10/10 review next time, which I m pretty sure this facility is entitled to.
heat !!! Staff must do something for the heat problem
convenience and economy.
Excellent location. A quiet street just next to the city center. Helpful stuff with good command of English. Cozy.
Bed was not very comfortable, but it was enough.
I just stayed one night, but I could feel its very good hostel. The bed was comfy, and they provided a big towel for use.
- The hostel is located at the city center. If you are a kind of person who likes to discover and get to know a new place by walking, this place is just for you! - The stuff is helpful and they are kind. It is organized quite a western style so you won't have any difficulty getting by. - When I visited the hostel, it was not crowded so I had no difficulty for the shower. I guess there is one in every floor. - There are shuttles to the airport and the coach station, and the bus stop for it is only 5 mins from the hostel.
- Rooms need mirror. Every time I chance, I have to go to bathroom because you can find mirrors only in the bathroom. - You can find out ways to make the place more friendly. You can redesign one of your walls for example, so people can post some notes or pics if the like to. - It's not easy to lock the doors when going out. One has to push the bottom of the door handle inside, and shut the door fast so it can close. I guess you can repair them (or at least mine).
great stop point in ankara
The lady and the reception man at night are very nice and kind.
I lived in room 24 in Deeps and there is a water heater in the room because it's close to the bathroom. I couldn't sleep at night because of the noise produced by the heater. I slept at around 2 a.m. and woke uo at 6: 26 a.m. I didn't notice it when I checked in and the lady should have asked me whether I am sensitive to this sound but she didn't! When I tried to change to another room at night but there wasn't available single room for me. I also left a note and my Turkish number to the lady but she didn't give me any call, so she probably doesn't care about it. Honestly, I'm satisfied with this hostel except for the noise and no-informing before. It ruined my whole night and my happy mood in Ankara! If you go there later, please notice this prblem in room 24.
The long conversations with the guys working there! And the fact that they are always willing to help you! :)
The place is wonderful. The building is colorful. It is too close everywhere.
The room was cold. The blanket was too small. When I slept, one came to room and turned on the light and made me awake.
RECEPTIONIST was very nice and spoke good English (something that can not be taken for granted even in expensive hotels in Turkey) ### LOCATION was good: in a sidestreet but within a few minutes walking distance from the city center with shops, restaurants, nightlife and public transportation ### there is an excellent small breakfast- and cigköfte place right opposite of the hostel where you can get cheap and delicious food and the owner is also super nice
very THIN WALLS, so you hear everything when people use the bathroom or cook or talk ### CLEANLINESS could be improved: although it was acceptably clean compared to other hostels (especially compared to the other hostel in Ankara) it still wasn't very clean, e.g. there was hair on the mattress or the fridge door probably wasn't cleaned in weeks or months (it was sticky when touching the door handle)
price and location
sound permeable walls rooms without wc 2 separete bed Ground floor room
Location of the hotel is good, only 2 minutes walk to Kolej station.
It's winter time and the tap in the toilet doesn't have hot water. Bathroom was constantly occupied so I didn't get to take a shower after a long day of journey. Some people were up and chatting at the reception until 2:30am and we could hear everything.
Deeps is a decent enough hostel, with a good location only a few minutes walk from one of the metro stops on the Ankaray line, so very easy to get there from the bus and train station. The main points of interest in Ankara are all about 30 minutes walk away and the walk to the castle area is actually surprising pleasant. The route to Ataturk's mausoleum is along a busier route but it can also be easily reached by metro. Staff on the whole were helpful & friendly and the facilities were quite good. Bathrooms needed work doing when we arrived, such as fixing windows, but this was actually done while we there, which was good. Do make sure you visit the superb Asmaanli restaurant opposite the hostel if you stay here. It's only a little place, but the cooking and the welcome there from the owners are simply on a different level. Mustafa the owner speaks excellent English and can talk you through the menu. Prices are very reasonable as well.
Kitchen seemed a bit of a mess, which is probably guests fault no doubt, but staff should probably keep on top of this more, as unfair as that may be, rather than waiting for the cleaner to come in. Overall a good value hostel though.
Most of The staff are very very nice and helpful.
The boiler was in my room and making constant noise and making sleeping impossible.
Deeps hostel is a place that you can stay safely.it is clean and comfortable. There are a lot of people around the world in hostel. Price/quality balance is fine there.
Only problem about hostel is it has no fan facilities.even the recepcionist guy(his name is mehmet) tries his best on this issue, it is not enough.they should create new and big and socializing area.
lacking basic maintenance
Everything was perfect. The staff excellent.
First time has wifi problem but once you connected is okay.
location near to transport, the guy on reception when I checked in was really nice and the place was pretty clean
the girl on reception on my second day was really unhelpful, there were no maps, she wouldn't print something for me, the bathroom door was stuck closed and even though she saw me waiting for it didn't bother to tell me that the door was broken until I asked. She said she was going to call someone to fix it later. The wifi was always going off. Despite being clean the facilities were a bit run down, the shower heads all leaked so you didn't get so much pressure, the bed was shabby
Too much voices The thickness of the walls are too thin that's why i could hear all the voices such as ahh and ohhh
beds are too soft
In general, it is a nice hostel. New and clean furniture. Good people.
We have reserved a room with two bed and with a balcony and nice view. They have prepared us a room with two bed but without a balcony and no view. And the rooms are cold. In this season of Ankara, especially in such an old building, the heater of the building must be turned on.
I liked the location and the outdoor chill zone that was really cool. Also the staff were very nice.
- good location - friendly and helpfull staff - bright dorm rooms with windows - nice common area
- just 1 shower per floor - could be busy in the morning
