My family and I could not sleep well due to (1) seagulls (2) lack of blackout curtains (3) manager's barking dog (be careful not to step on it) and (4) noise from building works nearby. You need to take the above into account in deciding whether you can sleep well - in addition to the hotel's proximity to the Blue Mosque.
Booked this hotel for 4 nights. Service was very good, although I wished that they did not insist on forfeiting one night's rate when I had to change hotels due to the entire family's inability to sleep well. This was in spite of my offer to compromise by staying for my 2nd night (i.e. cancel only my 3rd and 4th night). Disappointing.
Parking is a little bit problem.Administration cant do so much about it since its oldtown. you can park if you turn around 5min. Also there is parking area 200mt away 5-6€/day.
Hotel administration is very well. Staff is very respectful&helpful. Clean, nice decorated hotel is 5 min away from Sultanahmet mosque square by walk.
Nothing - everything was perfect for us
The service even before we arrived was considerate and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and homely and the hotel is is situated perfectly in a lovely corner of Istanbul with lovely views of the mosques and the Bosphorus
All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Very good breakfast including delicious home baked breads and pastries, and all this overlooking a fabulous view of the water and the Blue Mosque. Very comfortable, clean room with individual style. Forget the four seasons- stay here!
Tiny shower, slow wi-fi
The staff here is so kind and helpful that it is difficult to find fault with the property. My wife and I spent six nights in December 2014 and enjoyed our stay. Yes, it's an old building and not well sound-proofed. You can hear people in other rooms. You will hear dogs barking at night. And of course as there are mosques all around, you will hear the adhan. I wear ear plugs and was quite frankly not bothered by any of this. More troublesome was the shower, a vertical coffin in which there was little room to do anything but turn around. Water pressure and temperature were adequate. The room was clean and well maintained and there was adequate heating in winter. Wi-fi is a bit slow but always available. There are a couple of small groceries within a block, one right across the street from the hotel, so no need to depend on the minibar or the cafe. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The highlight of the hotel is the staff, every last one of them, who always had a kind word and a smile and who were always wiling to provide information about getting around the city, and looking it up for you when they didn't have an answer to hand. Bravo to management for finding such wonderful people. They all deserve a raise!
In this small, charming hotel in the heart of the old city, I spent 4 days. The hotel is conveniently located near the Sultanahmet mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica cistern and many other attractions. About this hotel I can say the following: very friendly and helpful staff, who responded to every question and was ready to give any advice about attractions, places where you can eat and other things. The room was permanently removed, and it was done gently and quietly. The hotel itself and rooms are decorated in retro style, but equipped with air conditioning, flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The restaurant offers a wonderful view of the sea. Very unexpectedly and it was nice to receive gifts from the hotel on the day of departure. This is the best small hotels I have ever been, I would have attributed it to a boutique hotel.
Street a little run down in parts, though safe and quiet and hotel well kept.
Staff couldn't do enough for you, friendly and professional. Breakfast top notch, and view from breakfast room superb. Central location. Plus hotel dog!
The staff. especially Ozan, reached 5 star level and give you a feeling of home. The patience and willingness to help us to have a best time in Istanbul is out of word. Strongly recommend this hotel and thanks so much Ozan!
Pretty much everything. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, even supplying a cake for my birthday! Top marks for all of them in going the extra mile (eg providing directions, booking restaurants). This is a family run hotel and this showed in the personal touches (little gift at end of stay) and the Turkish style décor in the lobby. Can't speak too highly of all the employees (including the lovely friendly old dog who "guarded" the hotel entrance!!!). Accommodation was comfortable and clean, and of a high standard. Breakfast was great - as much as you could eat and a wide range of choice- both local and European cuisine. Bread and cakes were home made. Breakfast room overlooked the sea and had an outdoor terrace (not recommended in late November!) The location was central and highly convenient for all the main sights and a range of restaurants.
Breakfast could of been a higher standard
Every one was very helpful
My room could have used a larger bureau for clothes, minor point.
This charming hotel has the best rooftop breakfast area and breakfast of any of the several hotels I have used in Istanbul. Nice lobby area and helpful staff. Interesting old photos of Istanbul line the corridors. My room had fine views of the Sea of Marmara.
The bed was not true king size. It was just two single beds put together. I could feel the bump in the centre of bed where two beds meet.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff, view from the roof top deck convenient location hotel with turkish character
super location, very nice terrace for breakfast , possibility to sit outsite, very nice quiet rooms,
- No duvet, only sheets on the bed - Small room size - No English speaking TV channels apart from BBC news
- Location is perfect, 2 mins walk from all the main Old City sites - Free Wi-Fi that we could always access - Cute rooftop terrace for breakfast - Good bathroom and shower - VERY friendly and helpful staff
The road it was on was a little scruffy but that was a small thing. Everything else was great
The staff were really nice and extremely helpful, the room on the first floor was comfortable, nicely furnished and spotless, the bathroom ditto and the good buffet breakfast on the roof terrace with beautiful views was a lovely start to each day. Incredible value
Call to prayer.
staff service. rooftop terrace for breakfast and bar later. Proximity to blue mosque and the delights of Sultanhamet
Walking around & meeting the local neighbors, quick & within minutes to the world famous sights! Delicious relaxing terrace for breakfast. The staff were great especially with jet lagged guests (like me!).
Only perhaps a lack of variety in breakfast but its still very good!
All front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. The location is great for getting to any of the major attractions of Sultanahmet. Breakfast was tasty with fresh home made bread most days.
Cosy hotel in a traditional ottoman building, nice breakfast on the terrace, incredibly helpful staff.
Location Breakfast Staff
We liked everything!
Everything, especially the polite, considerate staff, the wonderful view during the free buffet breakfast, the spacious room and state of the art bath. The Dersaadet Hotel was one of the best lodging experiences I have ever had.
The underground location of my room.
Location is strategic, very close to the main monuments and places of interest. Staff supporting: always available to provide suggestions and support. High standard of cleaness. The view from breakfast room.
Nothing that couldn't be put right with a simple request (replacing tea in the room, for example). The wifi was rather variable, but that's a minor detail for us.
The staff - all of them! The front desk, the bar staff, the cleaners were all equally friendly, welcoming and good at what they did. The location was ideal for the city centre sights.
A bit noisy at night.
The rooftop terrace.
The staff, particularly the front desk staff, were terrific - helpful, knowledgeable and always cheerful and welcoming.
