Very charming old, renovated place, an unforgettable stay... Dining in the middle of the museum was so good. Breakfast and staff were excellent (Mr. Yunus especially, thank you)
No bad experiences, but even though I like to walk, the climb up that hill was a bit much on some evenings.
Impressive saving and restoration of an historical structure. Faces the citadel, just a few feet away. A thriving, interesting neighborhood.
Very clean and comfort to stay. The hotel interior design is very unique. The room we stayed was very big. The location is near Anatolian museum (5 min walk). Lots of traditional shops and market nearby so you can buy Turkish souvenirs conviniently.
Only downside was the room, the fixtures felt quite outdated and the decor of the room (dark colours, poor lighting, animal e.g tiger paintings) did not appeal to me at all. This being said everything seemed quite clean.
Our 3 day stay in Ankara could easily have felt one or two days too long had it not been for this charming hotel in an excellent character filled suburb of old Ankara.
The location, The breakfast
Like it over all. The hotel is antique but the breakfast wasnt expected.
only one small thing: plastic flowers in the room.
The beautiful renovated building with fantastic rooms
The bed frame made it difficult to get off the bed.
Excellent Hotel, very good location for a leisurely trip. Helpful and very professional staff
The hotel is located in Ankara's old city - perfect if you're sightseeing the castle and museums, but less convenient for business or any other purpose.
The hotel is beautifully appointed - all of the bedrooms are uniquely decorated and the central courtyard/lobby area is stunning and a very restful place to spend time. Extras like a library, fitness centre, small bar and business centre add a homely touch. The food at the neighbouring restaurant is very good. Staff were a main highlight - friendly, helpful and always smiling.
The location, the comfort, the excellent Brasserie restaurant.
Travelers should note that the hotel is in Ulus, which is a very secluded, quiet area. Taxis are necessary to get to/from.
It is like you are living in an ancient Ottoman palace. New favorite place in Ankara.
Poor soundproof. Food in a restaurant could be better for such level of hotel. No breakfast bufe.
Wonderful interior, beautiful hotel and rooms. Good location for old town sightseeing.
I kept having problems connecting to the hotel 's wi-fi with my IPad.
The decor was way beyond the typical hotel ... a restoration of a 16th century caravansary. Both our room and the public spaces were extraordinary. The staff was also extraordinary -- helpful, friendly, cheerful and the list of positives goes on. The restaurant food was outstanding. This is one of the best hotels that we have stayed in worldwide.
Ther is no refrigrator in the room
Lack of desktop on the room to work. Room service not really 24/7 ( Their night menu is not active , we could only get 1 item when needed)
Hotel looks really good, Restaurant food was really nice and staff was helpful.
Beautiful hotel. Very close to the Citadel, shops, museums, restaurants and a small park. A museum is connected to the hotel and our 2 year old loves it. Staff was wonderful and decor very unique.
At night this area dies and there are few place to eat out within walking distance.
Nice hotel in the old city of Ankara.
This place is a hybrid of a very interesting museum and a quiet, luxury standard hotel in the most historic location in all of Ankara. My room had a 19th century French decor and a 50 mile view over the valley; the breakfast (in one restored Han courtyard) was sumptuous and the restaurant (in the second restored Han courtyard) truly excellent. Try the stuffed grape leaves main course.
Wifi is very poor in the room. There was stains on the carpets. They can easily take care of these 2 points. Everything else is great.
Very nice boutique hotel. We booked the junior suite, and the room was perfect in term of size. Very large bathroom. Food is excellent, we tried the Ankara Tava, and the lahamacum, it was deliciously delicious.
It was all round pure perfection...
We've been there for a night. But we had chance to see around. Great location. Right next to the historic area. Room was very clean. Awesome staff. Creative decoration with details. I strongly recommend. We'll definently come again.
Though we had a great service from the staff but sometimes we had difficulty to communicate as surprisingly for hotel with this class we would expect the staff could speak English. But again this wasn't really a big issue as we did practice our broken Turkish and electronic dictionary always ready at hand to understand both party.
Great location, very quiet and great facilities.
At midnight the room's radio came on very loud. Water dripped through the cieling from the room above us onto one of our suitcases. Often the hall lights were off so that it wasn't possible to see going down the stairs. This is a very odd place: fancy but missing some basics. Some of the rooms open into an interior enclosed courtyard but have no windows that open to the outside.
The location of this hotel is superb. It's on a hill next to an old castle, on windy old streets that have a lot of charm. It's a short walk to one of the best museums I have ever seen: The museum of Anatolian Civilization. The building itself is classy. The bathrooms are extremely fancy. The place is very clean.
breakfast is served and sometimes is slow
Great location in the old city, in front of the Citadel, very close to the Museum of Anatolian Civilisation. The patio is peacefull, with water and quite music. Fell like a "Bey" in the pure Ottoman style in the beautifull, well furnished rooms. Big Bathrooms. Lovely place and very good Breakfast, even if expensive.
Hotel has 'old school' charm and is just beautiful
