Score from 308 reviews Very good
Great location in the old city, in front of the Citadel, very close to the Museum of Anatolian Civilisation. The patio is peacefull, with water and quite music. Fell like a "Bey" in the pure Ottoman style in the beautifull, well furnished rooms. Big Bathrooms. Lovely place and very good Breakfast, even if expensive.
Hotel has 'old school' charm and is just beautiful
The hotel was beautiful with gorgeous decoration, and we almost felt we were in a museum. The room and the bathroom are also better than expected. The staffs are very helpful as well.
Though the breakfast was not too bad, but it is somehow a bit disappointing.
All is perfect.
We liked everything, just great.
The hotel is located in an upcoming tourist area close to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, however it is little bit far located form the city center.
The building has been beautifully restored and are wonderful place to stay. The location is excellent as well as all the special features in the hotel. The covered courtyard gives the hotel an open feeling. The staff are very helpful and the rooms comfortable with everything you need. Walking distance to the Castle area, museums and tiny shops, inside and outside castle. Very quiet without traffic.
Staff were extremely helpful and attentive, the rooms are luxurious, wifi connection is good and the location is excellent. Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Ankara. 5 star service.
Nothing to fault.
The two bedroom suite was excellent: spacious and with three bathrooms. One for each bedroom and one for the living room. It was very quite too.
You have to drive or get a taxi if you want to go to the city center
Hotel is perfectly situated to see the castle & world famous museum, the latter being the only reason apart from needing a base to see Hattusa for my stay in Ankara. The hotel itself is beautiful, a restored caravansarai
This hotel is on top of the castle hill so its location might not be for everyone; rather far and a steep climb from the rest of the city. But then I was only here for the museum and saw nothing of Amkara, which is not exactly a pretty capital.
-Beautiful restored old house -even our standard room is large and luxuriously appointed -Excellent sleep quality -Marvellous and over-luxurious bathroom -The old town next door offers excellent dining options -Gorgeous breakfast served like kings at your table -Very reliable Wifi
-Our room overlooks a kind of backyard with work on progress
The hotel and its decor was absolutely beautifully decadent..from another era. The staff provided some of the best service I have ever had. The location was perfect, only 10 mins from train station
Not a thing
Hotel is located in an old khan, which impresses alot. The staff, rooms are excellent. I belive the hotel is alittle bit far to city center but very close to historic side. If this hotel is located in city center, it would cost higher than its orginal price. Worth every penny
Location is a question mark
For anybody visiting Ankara for leisure, the location could hardly be better. The hotel is located in a beautifully restored caravanserai and the rooms are of great quality. Even the prices for extra were more or less reasonable (compared with what is often charged in 5 star hotels)
A sensitively restored caravanserai located high on Ankara's Castle hill, close to the main Museum of Anatolian Civilisation. Room was tastefully decorated with a huge walk-in bathroom and shower.
Staff are hard to find. We had to go looking for someone to serve us a drink in the bar. Could do with a fridge in the room.
Location just opposite the castle and a few steps from the Anatolian Museum. Nice breakfast in the courtyard, with possibility to get good coffee (if you ask). Huge room with lovely design and a view over Ankara.
After traveling through out Scandinavia for weeks, arrived in Ankara, & this beautiful and unique hotel, providing everything you possibly needed within reasonable price, we just wonder why we didn't come earlier, perhaps should of skipped Scandinavia all together. Excellent luxurious rooms, quite, great individually serviced breakfast. New gym. Great hotel/museum restaurant. Nespresso in the room. Excellent Wifi reception in the rooms. Free parking.
Beautiful looking place
Didn't feel like a hotel. Only one member of staff at a time + generally they either couldn't help us or didn't have any solutions for us. It's perfect if all you want to do is sit and read a book
Excellent location in the "Old City", close to the "Museum of Anatolian civilizations" and not far from "Anit Kabi", Kemal Ataturks memorial and museum. The hotel is a renovated karavanseray dated from the year 1523. The karavanseray gave shelter to the caravans of camels carrying goods along one of the "Silk Roads". Today the hotel is a spacious high class hotel containing an exhibition of numerous items from the famous R.M.Koc collection. Really a full size industrial museum containing several cars, miniature trains and boats, instruments , an aeroplane, toys etc. Our room was spacious with a fantastic bathroom. The service was excellent, the staff is politely professional, and the food is excellent. Score 10 pts ( in spite of a missing minibar)
The hotel has the most brilliant ambiance being an old caravanserais, directly opposite the citadel and with an industrial museum around the restaurant. Brilliant breakfast and dinner, superb rooms, best location in Ankara
This is a lovely hotel, wonderfully revnovated.
The hotel is not very convenient except for the castle and the museum, about 20 minutes by walk from Ulus subway station.
What an interesting place to stay! Great accommodations, terrific views, and wonderful local markets a short walk from the entrance of the hotel. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Ankara, which we very much liked.
It is a very cosy hotel, not the typical mainstream hotel design, with fantastic soft bedsheets and towels. Bathroom amenities are from Molton Brown, smelling all very good. The hotel is positioned right outside the entry to the castle area with its nice old houses, so for touristic visitors it is well located. Car park is available.
The breakfast is served to the table in weekdays (open buffet breakfast only in weekends). The orange juice was always very cold and the - although nicely decorated - cheeses started to be dry already, as the breakfast items are prepared in advance and waited in the fridge. The breads were dry also. Windows in the room had no moskito nets, so we suffered from moskitos in the night.
A lovely hotel. We loved our room and the view over Ankara. The breakfast was wonderful.
It's a shame the hotel was so empty but I guess it is early in the season.
Carefully renovated Ottoman building, gallery-like, tasteful and warm interior, very large rooms and bathrooms, extremely comfortable and pleasing, opposite to Ankara castle, very near to the Anatolian Civilizations Museum. Views of Anitkabir, and central Ankara. Next to Rahmi Koc museum. Staff was very helpful. One of our best stays.
Beautifully restored building. Attentive staff.
The location was a bit isolated. This is not a neighborhood where you could walk out the door and take a stroll. You would have to take a taxi (always taxis outside the hotel)
