Only 325 ft from Blue Mosque, Azade Hotel is in a restored wooden house on a quiet cobblestone street. It features a spa center and a rooftop restaurant with sweeping Bosporus views.
Score from 871 reviews Very good
In the heart of Sultanahmet, the Empress Theodora Hotel features a rooftop restaurant with views of Sultan Zeynep Mosque. It is across from a tram stop, and provides free Wi-Fi access.

Only 200 ft from Sirkeci Train Station, this hotel is a 12-minute walk to Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. Galata Bridge and Spice Bazaar are a 4-minute walk away.
Score from 1564 reviews Very good
The hotel is located 5min walking distance from all tourist attractions and public transport. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Also the view from the breakfast terrace is magical.
The only thing that could maybe be improved is the WiFi signal, which was very weak in our room.
Clean, comfort , good location, friendly staff
-Staff members at this hotel not only listened to our general chit-chatting and answered questions about the surrounding area, like I would expect in any hotel, but also made reservations for us according to our wishes, were generally amazingly friendly, didn't charge us for a little overtime in the end and on top of that taught us to play backgammon. -Airport shuttle service is not that pricy. -Breakfast buffet is lovely. Included in the room rate, until 11am and they won't throw you out spot on!!!
I'd suggest to leave the very touristy area in order to get a decent Turkish meal. Not the fault of the hotel obviously, but around the Hagia Sophia, we didn't really enjoy the food. Getting on the tram for 10 minutes across the Galata bridge to Beyoglu is the better idea!
My friends and I visited Turkey for 6 days and our stay in Efendi Hotel had been the best stay to wrap our trip. We arrived quite early on the day we checked in and were planning to just leave our luggage before exploring the city. But then the staff offered us free breakfast and even told us that our room was ready at around 11 am. The staffs are very kind, the facility and service was great, and breakfast was perfect (with a view of Ayasofia from the dining terrace). A space on the rooftop was also perfect to enjoy the view of Ayasofia. Hotel location is good that you can reach many tourist spots by walking. It is located on the side street, so it won't get noisy because of the traffic or else. Our triple room was in the basement, but there was a nice balcony, which makes it doesn't feel like we're in the basement at all. Room as well as the bathroom are clean and well-equipped. Would love to stay again in this hotel if we get the chance to visit Istanbul again. Totally recommend this hotel for anyone who is planning to visit Istanbul!
The water in the shower is a bit weak.
Not enough lights in the bedroom and bathroom :
Location was great, staff on the day were very helpful and friendly especially the young lady on the desk. Breakfast was good. We only had one night and were able to leave our cases to explore. The main positive was the friendliness of the staff though.
I think we booked what was referred to as a family suite, ok, but a little small for a suite, and no lounge area, just two bedrooms and bathroom.
Front desk staff, especially Sahin, were very helpful with information about sites to see and how to get around in Istanbul.
The location was perfect
Location Friendly staff Terrace view
Very small rooms
Helpful attention by the staff, excelent breakfast buffet, nice view from the roof terrace, cosy atmosphere, quiet location although you're in the very middle of the old town
the rooms are rather small
Clean and close to touristic attractions
Obviously the location near to everything. Staff were very helpful.
Walkable to major sites, shuttle from airport, friendly staff and view at restaurant
Bed could be a bit more comfy but adequate
Good location Nice breakfast Helpful staff
THE STAFF, SAHIN AND BURCU WERE THE BEST...VERY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT...THEY MADE US FEEL AT HOME...GREAT LOCATION WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE IMPORTANT POINTS OF INTEREST, GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY...WE'LL DEFINETLY VISIT AGAIN AND STAY LONGER...THANK YOU GUYS, YOU WERE THE BEST!!! SINCERELY, THE ARDALIC'S
Amazing staff, excellent service and perfect location.
The room and toilet was not cleaned, I could see dirts between the mattress and the bed, also the toilet smelled disgusting. The wifi was completely dead until we changed the room. The double bed is too small. I didn't enjoy the shower at all cause the water was weak and almost cold.
Everything was perfect Congratulations Efendi Hotel on a very well run hotel. Made our stay in Istanbul most enjoyable
Excellent location, great staff and very good value for money! Bardzo warte polecenia!!!
Very comfortable bed and room. First class service . Very friendly. Excellent for seeing main historic sights and 3 blocks to major tourist team line.
Back alley Street hard to get a cab in and out of, but all Sultanahmet is this way. Also, there was some construction on the street nearby at night, BUT NO FAULT OF HOTEL. Didn't use wifi because there is government censorship and I had an alternative. Highly recommended. Would stay again.
I was on a business trip but wanted to have a chance to see the old city during my stay. The staff were wonderful. They helped me get taxis, organized airport transfer (excellent option, take them up on the offer, hotel a bit difficult to find), etc. Great location. Good Wifi in the room and on the upstairs veranda.
Hotel location difficult for taxi drivers to find. Just have them drop you at the nearby burger king or starbucks and enjoy the walk up the street.
The central location The quality of the staff The very good breakfast buffet
I would have appreciate a place were to meet with my friends (a bar or a sort of living room). The lounge is very small and not appropriate for that.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and overall we were very happy with our choice. The hotel has a great location, only a few minutes walk to the main sights and from the breakfast room and terrace you have a lovely view of Hagia Sophia and the rest of istanbul - what a great way to start the day. But it is in a quiet side street, so you don't have any road noise. Out of the three nights we spent at Efendi, unfortunately we only managed to sleep through one night - the first one. On our second night, which was a Monday, the construction workers who were working on another hotel next door had the idea of filling concrete until past 1am! My boyfriend mentioned this to the reception who told him they will see what they can do, the noise stopped for about 15 mins but then they continued with their work. The next day we were woken up in the middle of the night because a party of 2 couples decided to continue their evening in the corridor - as the doors are super thin we had the feeling they were in our room! This is not the hotels fault that this party thinks it's a good idea to be having their loud conversation in the corridor when other guests may be sleeping, but if the doors were sound proof, the noise wouldn't have woken us. The hotel itself is nice, the staff speak English, you have a tea/coffee making facility in the room and the hotel is nice and clean. We had a standard room on the 4th floor, the room was a good size, not big though. The breakfast was great! Every morning we were looking fwd to having breakfast, the breakfast area is nicely decorated and the choice for breakfast is good. You get some fresh fruits, and yoghurts, various cheeses, meat cuts, olives, salad, fresh bread, and sweets. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Efendi and would book here again (but just bring ear plugs).
Location and staff.
Room too small for mature couple with more than one large suitcase. Water pressure not adequate.
The staff were very welcoming and the view from the breakfast room was tremendous
Great location, Great breakfast, kind friendly helpful staff
