Located in Goreme, the historic part of Cappadocia, Harman Cave Hotel offers rooms decorated in Ottoman and Greek style.
Score from 351 reviews Wonderful
Loved architecture and beautiful setting of the hotel, as well as a fabulous room with over-the-top attention to detail. The breakfast was also fantastic.
The hotel was not very conveniently located.
-Gorgeous, unusual grounds -Awesome cave room with hot tub, separate shower and good wifi (better than any other hotel we stayed at) -Yummy food, a chef that was able to accommodate allergies -Helpful staff, who books things for you and checks up on everything -Upgrades given regularly -Enjoyable pool area
-Far from other towns, but it you want a legit cave hotel it has to be. The regular hotels were yuck. -Not for the handicapped (there are a lot of stars and inclines around the property. I have ra and found it challenging but possible)
We liked a lot the hotel, the cave rooms, the swimming pool, the absolutely good breakfast and the village of Ayvali!!
A very cozy and romantic get-away. Leave the kids home (although they are welcome and would enjoy it also.) A unique experience and the staff is outstanding. The food is wonderful and plentiful.
The hotel is stunning with its different cave rooms, twists and turns everywhere and its beautiful decor. The pool is small but still does the job. Overall it has an upscale feeling to it. The breakfast buffet and the restaurant on site offer a great selection of reasonably priced items. It really is an experience of a lifetime to be in this hotel and the exceptional area around it.
The Wifi is very spotty and really only worked for me when standing in the lobby with my devices. Our family suite room 109 had a mild but very foul odor almost constantly. Since we were gone for almost all of the day, we didn't complain about it and made it work. All the attractions in the area are amazing and worth the trip but come at a cost. We used both drivers and tour guides whom both cost almost double the amount we were accustomed to in other parts of Turkey. The drivers speak almost no English and I would recommend a phrase book or an app on your smart phone. Remember, we are in their country and cannot expect everyone to know our language!
Hamide Demeral, the manager was exceptional...friendly, hospitable, way beyond the normal. Excellent breakfast, great heated swimming pool. The Bizantine Suite was over the top. Perfect location for touring Cappadocia.
The noisy group that arrived on our last evening.
The manager, hamide, deserves a special mention. Always smiling, she was willing to go that extra mile to ensure guests got what they wanted. I wish everyone in the services business had her disposition. Kudos to her!
Very nice staff. Fantastic rooms. We were upgraded to one of the suites without being charged or even having to ask. Hamide is amazing and very helpful as concierge and planner of activities.
Would be better if there were more reception staffers with a better handle of English who could help in the event of changed plans or on-the-fly customization of activities.
Staff is very kind n helpful.... Breakfast is excellent.... Though hotel is a bit far from city but the hotel provides free shuttle anytime u need...
The staff is wonderful. The hotel is very lovely and a truly unique place. We appreciated that the historical aspects of the property were maintained. We received a complimentary room upgrade when we arrived. The king suite was amazing! And we chose to eat dinner at the hotel both evenings because the ambiance, service, presentation, price and dishes were excellent.
We have no complaints about the hotel. The weather in March is not so agreeable. We'd love to come back during the summer to enjoy terrace dining, the pool bar and the pool. Also, beware that some GPS systems will try to take you on a non-road route. Look for road signs and use your best judgment.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly! We felt so comfortable. The amenities were great, and the room... Outstanding! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
The location was a little far from some sights compared to other hotels, but we were provided with shuttle service, bicycles, and many options for trips and activities in the area.
Unique experience, wonderful room, breakfast, service, privacy, etc.
Those unfamiliar with the area may wonder if they are heading in the right direction- but very worth the effort to get there.
The staff at Gamirasu was attentive to everything on our December visit; from the directions we were given when we called from 40 km / 24 miles away, personally showing and "introducing" us to our room, and bringing a load of wood to burn in our fireplace (after they started the fire) to tending to our culinary desires at breakfast--one wanted the omelet "very dry!", the other wanted it "pretty wet". Everything was perfect. The historical value of the property is fascinating -- make sure you visit the "chapel" and see the remnants of the frescoes that are pushing 800 years old. Ayvali Cave Church is small but amazing! Also, before we left, we asked to see some other rooms... we were shown room #123... if it is not occupied, Ask To See It! For a small sum (well over 2,000 TL/$1000/Euro 725), you can stay there. The visit to this magnificent room was free. Each of the rooms is different--all are worth staying in--you'll be happy with any of the rooms you are given for your soujourn here.
Our stay was entirely too short. Intend to return in the late spring/early summer and stay longer as well as visit and explore this lovely region.
We just loved the hotel and were upgraded to the biggest room of the hotel incidentally which was the biggest room of Cappadocia region. It was beautiful and one of the best rooms we ever stayed and the cave experience was amazing.
