The location is great, near istanbul's main attractions. Restaurant, garden and public areas are very nice. I had an economy room which is small, noisy (ground floor with noise from the street and from the lobby) and had smelly bathrooms. Avoid these rooms.

After a booking disaster at the Best Western Antea Palace (they were over booked leaving us in Istanbul with no hotel!!) We decided to look for a smaller boutique style hotel. Rooms: We had two rooms booked at the hotel, the first night was a bit of a squeeze - as there was a misunderstanding upon check-in and the staff thought we needed one single room and one double room. The single room (this is normally a standard double) - right near reception, is a tight fit even by European standards and luckily my husband and I are not large people or we would not fit in the tiny bed! The next day we were swiftly moved to another room, that over looked the garden and had small balcony. Both double rooms (one in the Garden Suite and one in the main house) were spacious and well furnished. Though I believe that neither of these rooms were the standard doubles. So do your homework before booking the standard double room. Location: The location is great! A short walk to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and the Grand Bazzar. There is zero parking - but who rents a car in Istanbul anyway. Warning!! the hill into these attractions can be a little steep in places, so perhaps not great if you have mobility problems. But taxis can be called at reception and cost is minimal. There are many small hotels around the Garden House - so if they are full don't despair. Breakfast: Great!! They serve a beautiful breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, and eggs (cooked as you like). The best bit? The ability to sit outside in the garden at the end of a long day of sightseeing and shopping! In istanbul you are never by yourself and the hustle and bustle can be overwhelming. Their lovely courtyard is a wonderful place to chill and drink a glass of wine or 2. Would we stay again? Absolutely. The staff are friendly and attentive, the location is excellent (if you want to hit the tourist sights and shopping) the rooms we comfortable, breakfast great - what more could you want in Istanbul. The room we had the first night (I think room 110, first floor just behind reception) - I am not sure if this was a standard double or a single? But it really should not be any more than a single. Take care when booking your rooms - I am not sure if the standard rooms are all as small as this was. Stairs - due to the layout of the hotel, if you have an issue with stairs (their is no lift) then you may feel more comfortable in a more conventional hotel. Also it may not really practical for babies, toddlers and prams.

A nice small hotel, very cozy, situated in an extremly good location - the Old City, 5 minutes walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofya; Clean, beautifuly designed rooms, good kitchen; and a lot of cats))) I loved this hotel and I enjoyed every minute spent there. It's just that it could be rather noisy sometimes due to the fact that there is a mosque right behind the hotel, and muezzin's calls to prayer 5 times a day (especially early in the morning) could be annoying. And that's that. This small inconvinience is nothing comparing to all the benefits of staying in this particular hotel.

The location is excellent - walking distance to all the sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. They offered a cocktail hour to try Turkish wines and there were snacks, coffee and tea and water all day for free. The bed and pillows were comfortable My husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and stayed at the hotel for 5 days. I called the hotel directly and spoke to the sales manager who promised us a good room with a jacuzzi. In the end, we weren't given the room that he promised or the one in the Bookings photo either. We spent 300 Euros a night on a small room with a small bathroom and shower. One day, we were given better towels, the rest of the days the towels were flimsy. Whatever you do, don't look under the bed!

Excellent hotel for the tour. High-quality food, friendly staff, always ready to help, clean rooms and very convenient location - near the center of the city, in the historic quarter, 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque. The hotel has a lot of families with children. Shower is inconvenient - there is not enough doors.Of course, there is no elevator - this is understandable, because it's the historic house, but still uncomfortable.

Staff were genuinely helpful and very courteous. The breakfast was a wonderfully diverse array of culinary delights and their overall hospitality was first rate. A person who was probably a staff member was talking very audibly at 4am for about an hour-at least the noise seemed to be coming from the reception Area.

The staff could not have been more helpful and charming. Excellent generous breakfast - huge choice and served until 10.30. Very comfy and enormous bed. Well appointed and comfy room and spacious bathroom with excellent shower. Nice touches - free cake and biscuits and v cheap self service coffee/tea available in the lounge. Garden area available. Very close to several tourist attractions. Highly recommend this hotel. Not a huge choice for vegetarians in the restaurant, but Im sure if you let it be known in advance they would do their utmost to accommodate this. All sorts for veggies at breakfast however.

I like this hotel a lot! Staff was friendly, breakfast was perfect, rooms perfect and most important just 5 minutes away from all musuems/mosks... Some small issue that didnt spoil my trip but ment as feedback to the hotel to improve their internal communication so small distrubance described below are not visible for their customers! Try this hotel - you will not regret it! - Carpark was booked at booking.com but at arrival they where not aware and wanted me to pay for another car park. Lucky I printed out my reservation to clarify. - Asked for a late checkout and got the confirmation from the staff. next day the cleaning lady entered early the room and later at 12 the reception phoned again to ask me why i wasn't out my room. I needed to go down to clarify what another staff accepted...
