Georges Hotel Galata  

It was a great location. Near shops and restaurants. Super comfortable bed! Good wifi. Lovely breakfast on the rooftop deck.

Some of the staff were really snobby and no one offered any assistance. There is no sign. They made me wait quite awhile before I could check in. The rooftop bar is cool, but really expensive. The sound travels easily between rooms on the same floor. Strange shower that flooded the bathroom easily.

Get a sign ! Hotel is impossible to find even when you're standing right outside it.... does a sign over the door really upset the cool look that much ?

Stylish boutique hotel. Great location because it is just in between the Galata Bridge (to ferry and Sultanamet) and the Istikal Caddesi (shops and restaurants). Both can be reached by a good (and rather steep) walk or just a few tram stops. The area itself with the beautiful Galata tower is a cosy relaxed neighbourhood with trendy shops and restaurants. We were in Istanbul in February and the Galata area was not crowded or noisy but pleasantly entertaining. Very comfortable bed! There is hardly any outside noise from trafic so we had a good night's sleep. We loved to have our breakfast at the rooftop terrace with an amazing view on Istanbul. The breakfast crew of the Georges Hotel was exceptionally hospitable and know how to welcome you with a personal touch!

Nothing. Just minor details. Yes the entrance and stairs are dim and there is no bright light in the room to read a book.

Staff was excellent, very helpful.

The air-con sucks. No cool air and heater kept heating up the in room temp like a sauna room. Staff was unable to fix but told us to switch off the air con, which meant no air at all! Ended up we needed to open the balcony door when slept, at the risk of security and rodents.

Great service and staff, fantastic breakfast, and the roof top terrace is amazing, the view of Bosforo stunning. We were 2 for the first time in Istanbul, we fell in love with the hotel, the city and the people. If you go to Istanbul, you MUST stay here.

(From my tripadvisory account) Before booking this hotel, I read plenty of reviews and also noted all the negative reviews I came across and I had high expectations of this hotel since it was really costly for us Singapore travelers (cost SGD450 per night, Deluxe Sea View Room, Level 2, No. 10) - well Georges Galata definitely did live up to all my expectations! Boutique as it can be, there is no hotel relationship manager, there is no front desk, there is no buffet breakfast, there is no swimming pool... but what it did offer was a plenty. Luxurious creature comforts, free wifi, coffee machine, ipod dock etc… excellent ala carte breakfast menu which we could order anything from, anytime and anywhere (we had our bfast sometimes at our room balcony, sometimes at their lovely rooftop bar, sometimes way early at 7.00 am and sometimes late at 11.30 am!) and we could order multiples of what we liked from the menu eg: croissants. Food was good, good portion and great presentation. Great view from our balcony, lovely lovely french design and decor, lights coming from the floor and ceiling of our balcony at night. The small gestures but v nice touches like daily turn down services and chocolates, the subtle fragrance that greets you once you step into the hotel/your room etc. I am particular about cleanliness and I always judge a hotel by the type of towels that I am given, well, it was all clean, white and fluffy and the housekeeping was great, as we did not have to call housekeeping for additional things as they'd top it up if they see that we are running low on shampoo or shower foam or moisturiser etc. Lotsa complimentary coffee capsules which myself and my husband appreciated as we drink lotsa of coffee in a single day. And yes, the bed was awesome! Staff performance was excellent too, location was hard for the cabby to find and they gave directions to our cabby on the phone all the way until we reach.

Beautiful interiors and very friendly staff although they did have a difficulty with english.. The neighbourhood was very boem, artistic and colourful. the rooms very contemporary with all the amenities one could ask for. From the Nespresso machine you could complementary use down to the amazing beds t was a beautiful boutique hotel.

One word : Amazing! We absolutely loved the hotel. It is very modern and new, great design in the city centre. Boutique hotel with only 20 rooms. Breathtaking view from the roof top where we had dinner and drinks. Breakfast is included and you can choose if you want to have it in the terrace or in your room. Attention to detail everywhere in the hotel. Very confortable bed and all the amenities in the room and bathroom (i.e iphone dock and L'occitane toiletries). Free wifi. Situated in a safe and trendy area with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Alex and his team are simply 5*, very professional and willing to help in anything, really anything! They just made our stay even more pleasant giving us inside tips on where to go. Will definitely come back!

Staff was incredible!

Very difficult to find ,taxi dropped me at Galata tower in frustration and I dragged my bags 300mtrs. Fabulous decor but all the hard surfaces meant I resorted to aircraft earplugs to sleep, as there was lift and door noise, wonderful bed and pillows though. Stunning roof terrace with to die for views.

Perfect locartion, room and breakfast. Staff discrete and friendly. A little haven of tranquility just 5 minutes from the hustle and bustle of tourist Istanbul.

This hotel has been beautifully renovated, with a careful combination of contemporary and traditional fittings. The rooms are large, with lovely balconies and the rooftop terrace is a stunning place for an evening drink, watching the sun set or enjoying the lights of Istanbul. Being small, the staff know all their guests and are unfailingly attentive in that warm, friendly and generous manner that represents Turkish hospitality. The location is excellent - very close to the Galata Tower and an easy walk or tram ride across to the old city but also close to terrific boutiques if you have time for shopping! We would not hesitate to recommend Georges Hotel Galata and are looking forward to our next stay.

A small boutique hotel situated in a quiet, cobbled street in the Beyoglu area. Near the Galata Tower and within easy walking distance of Istikal Caddesi. Charming and helpful staff, luxury bedrooms and comfy beds make for a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of the Old City across the Galata Bridge. Choose a room with a view over the Bosphorous.

The location and surrounding is very nice for city lovers. The rooms are nicely and lightly decorated. Comfortable bed and layout. Very trendy part of the city. Great city weekend alternative.

The wall insulation is poor. The lobby and enterence is not well defined. The staff is nice and polite, but give you the impression of being under stress.
