good place, low price
Price. Breakfast. Family friendly and obliging.
Position on outskirts of town.Streets poorly lit and with stray dog(s). Cold nights not anticipated by providing blankets but did willingly on asking. No heating or hot water.
Wood fire at breakfast. Kind workers, giving good attention to our toddler, and plucking mandelins from the trees in the garden to give to her. Useful laundry service. Great view of the castle.
The 'family-room' with private bathroom was a cell-like room, barely big enough for two single beds. The private bathroom was an outside toilet!
Spent 3 nights, rooms were not cleaned at all.Staff barely spoke English. Breakfast was sparse to say the least. Listed as accepting credit cards - Don't, claimed a storm knocked out the cable. There were no storms. This was the worst hotel of the entire trip.Roach in each room, we had 2.
The ladies who ran the place were lovely, they were really friendly and helped out when needed. It was so peaceful here. It was very cheap, the same price as a hostel but I get a private room and bathroom.
It was a very different room to the one advertised on booking.com it was very small and a bit dingy but I only paid 10 euro a night however I had no hot water at any time and it also said that the wifi is in all rooms which it isn't, you can only get it near the reception where there isn't really any comfortable place to sit. But again I still only paid 10 euro a night so this isn't a complaint, it's just saying because I really liked it there.
Lovely gardens. Great staff.
We really enjoyed our stay. People were so friendly and helpful. Would always come back.
Very welcoming staff/family and host. Great location pretty much under the fort. V Pleasant garden dining area and rooms basic but adequate and clean, plenty of breakfast eaten while looking at the fort.
Swimming pool area a bit neglected, broken slabs on surround, maybe end of season issue.
The family was great, the sister boiled up water for me because I had a cold while I was there and arranged for me to steam my self in the garden-thank you!
Bed was lumpy, the breakfast the same every morning which was a little boring after 4 days.
The nice common areas, like the swimming pool and the garden facing the castle. Really great!
Although the price was very very convenient, the rooms could be better, especially the bathroom, which need some restoration. But still, we knew that with that low price we couldn't ask for too many things. I recommend it anyways!
Everything, but the best is the people, really nice.
Only to say something, the rooms will be better for late-sleepers with curtains or something :)
Hidden paradise, with pool. Delicious food.
Overpriced tour option provided to us.
Everything was perfect at girgin Artemis ! The owner was lovely and helpful, lots of great stories to tell, the environment is like heaven. They let us use the facilities and the pool during the rest of the day even though we had already checked out. They even drove us to the bus station at 10:30 pm. We didn't have the opportunity to try the food they make but it just seemed so good and tasteful !
Our room was in the back of the pension so WiFi wasn't that good inside.
The price was so cheap, the room was better than our expectation, it is not loxurry but you get comfortable sleep, Shahin, the manager he is very friendley and speak good english, all the ladies who work there are very friendley and helpfull. Liked the place.
Lovely people run this great pension. It has such friendly owners who helped us with everything, made great meals and were like old friends. We enjoyed the pool, the AC, the food (delicious meals eaten outside), the raki, the advice re tours etc, breakfast and the excellent company of the owner who we drank with both evenings and the other guests. Exceptional value for money! Highly recommend.
Close to the sites in selcuk, food on site was tasty, owner was helpful with making arrangements for taxis and general transportation. The taxi driver he hooked us up with was very nice and helpful.
The guesthouse was off the beaten path. The last night we were there we had dinner and the bill was significantly higher than the nights before. In typical Turkish fashion we were charged for everything, from the starters, to the salad, to the bread. This would not have been a problem except this is not how it was the previous two nights. My wife also had an uncomfortable "your in my personal space, no hugging please moment" the last night when no one was around. It seemed more than friendly behavior and she was very uncomfortable with it.
Friendly staff who are very helpful in organising sight seeing trips in the area. Room was good value for money.
This place is great for it's price. Room was clean and personnal was helpful with whatever you ask of them. You have swimminig pool where you can refresh on hot day and then chill in shade next to it. Penssion is located right beneath Selcuk castle which is probably something you'll go visit. City center is some 10 min away and bus station 15. If you are looking cheap and good place to stay in Selcuk I warmly reccomend this.
I have no real complaints. I could think few minor issues but they go in "you can't expect luxury for that price" category. :)
The garden is great and because of the heat the swimming pool was a great place to cool down. The staff is very friendly and helpful
The rooms are very basic and a bit uncomfortable. The shower could be renovated. But benchmarked against the price it is a great place to stay!
I left my phone on the bus to Selcuk. I realized that when I arroved at Girgin Artemis pension. I panicked. But the host quickly made a call, and the owner of the pension called to stop the bus and got my phone safely back to me after just 15 minutes. I cannot be grateful enough for the quick help they offered to me. It was the best service and help I received in Turkey. The pension is family-run, and the family are very nice people! The building has beautiful patios on the second floor. The breakfast was very well served.
The owner wants his guests to take taxi. He tried to talk us into going around Selcuk in taxi, but we only had a short ride to Ephesus. (another guest told me that he offered her a taxi drive to Pamukkale which is 3.5 hours away) you can just say no if you are not interested. He definitely doesn't force you if you are not interested, no worries. The pension is a bit far from the city center, but you can ask the owner for pick-up from the otogar so that's not a big problem! Overall the owner's kindness makes up for everything.
Friendly helpful talkative owner although some info (drive time to Izmir) wasn't accurate, good breakfast, clean and comfortable room and shower,
The owner and the staff is very friendly ...
The staff were friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. The swimming pool is great, and the surrounding courtyard is very pleasant. The host gave us a lift to Ephesus and refused payment for this helpful service. We stayed three nights (we originally had planned on staying only one night!) and did not want to leave. We highly recommend Girgin Artemis Pension.
Nice and familiar hotel. The owners/ staff of the hotel are very friendly. Good location for day-trips to "Sirince" and "Efes".
