Hotel Gulec  

Thi̇s cute hotel,whi̇ch i̇s a fami̇ly busi̇ness has an excellent locati̇on. You are able to reach by feet anywhere i̇n the downtown(castle,bazaar,beaches,restaurants),clean rooms,excelllent garden,helpful staff. I felt li̇ke home i̇n parti̇cular wi̇th the ri̇ch breakfast offered i̇n the garden. I strongly recommend thi̇s lovely place to anyone!

The location was excellent and we could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was close to the shops and restaurants but far enough from the noise for it to be quiet. The rooms were what I expected for a Turkish Hotel and were clean, although basic. The staff were very good, helpful, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. Breakfast was served and not self service, which worked for us as we don't tend to eat much, but we both got a whole loaf of bread every morning each, and when someone else wanted more another whole loaf was produced!

The first room had a very bad smell in the bathroom coming from the shower drain, but the 2nd didn't.

Very pleasant staff, nice setting, slightly 'bijou' feel to the place and incredible value for money.

Beds a bit uncomfortable for me and I suspect we were the first tourists of the season in the rooms we stayed in therefore understandably the linen had a very slightly damp feel on the first night.

The hotel is small and friendly and although only a short walk from the beach, castle, restaurants, shops and nightlife of Bodrum is situated in a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms were clean and simple and were situated around a lovely garden with orange and lemon trees and many flowers and shrubs, a relaxing place to sit. Breakfast was eaten in the garden and was typical Turkish fare of bread, eggs, olives, tomatoes,jams, etc., all very fresh and as much as you like. The hotel manager was very helpful with ordering taxis, tickets for the ferry to Kos and suggesting places to eat, etc. The hotel is close to a quiet little play area with new equipment and safety matting, which is ideal for families with children and also a range outdoor gym equipment, which we adults enjoyed! The hotel was excellent value for money.

Nice garden, central lokation, friendly staff

I picked the Hotel Gulec because of all the good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Very clean, excellent staff, good location, safe neighborhood, close to beach (walk a couple of blocks). We loved Bodrum and stayed for 6 nights. It was quiet at night and we slept well. The price was good for clean, basic accommodations. The garden was lovely and we had a simple but good breakfast each morning and tea was available during the day. The fruit trees were full of fruit and quite lovely to sit and relax. I would stay again if I returned to Bodrum.

Having breakfast amongst the fruit trees was amazing. All the staff were attentive and helped with information, directions etc. They even gave us contact details for our onward trip to Greece.

The hotel offered excellent value for money, including in its price a delicious breakfast of eggs, olives, tomatoes and cucumber with plenty of freshly baked bread. Its location is perfect, being very close to the beach, castle and bus station. The rooms are simply furnished but tasteful and well finished with bedside lights and ensuite facilities (some bathrooms are rather small). The hotel has a delightful garden where breakfast is normally served. Unfortunately the weather was very rainy during our stay in October, but the staff adapted remarkably efficiently to the conditions and we breakfasted in comfort inside. The owners and all the staff were most welcoming and helpful and I would thoroughly recommend the Gulec to anyone looking for a good, independent, traditional family-run hotel.

Very helpful and attentive staff. The simply furnished room was lightfilled and pleasant. The windows of the room on the ground floor opened to the garden and lemon trees and were charmingly screened from intruders with ornate wrought iron. Even during a thunderstorm I could have a window open. Close to the harbour front.

The WiFi didn't work so well in my room.

Good location near marina shopping cages and bus depot.same Turkish breakfast every morning may get bit boring. Facilities basic but clean and comfortable.

It is an easy walk into the centre of Bodrum form this hotel and there is a taxi rank very close as well.The hotel is very quiet and, although the furnishing are very simple, everything was spotlessly clean and there was air con in our room. We slept really well every night. The hotel management are excellent and it was lovely to eat breakfast in the green, shady garden. Breakfast was quite substantial, too! Very good value for money.

At this price there wasn't anything I didn't like!

The staff at Hotel Gulec were excellent. This was a cheap budget hotel with basics but rooms very clean and adequate. The had a traditional Turkish breakfast every morning which was nice. The location of this place was great. About 10 mins from the port by foot and close to many shops and restaurants. There is a market close by to buy snacks if you needed some. There are no tv's which is not a problem but some people think that is not good enough. Why do you need a tv when you have the city of Bodrum to explore. The staff on our departure gave us numbers to contact should we get into trouble in Istanbul, very nice people.

I really can't complain given the price we paid.
