This was an excellent choice; the location was perfect, the price was good, a good room as well, the breakfast was excellent, and the personel was very helpfull. To be highly recommended. The weather was a bit disappointing the first two days. But after we complained about that with the reception, it improved a lot. |

Friendly and helpful staff, great location, excellent breakfast buffet, good value for money The closed circuit security camera next to the TV in the spa facility of the hotel is unacceptable, or alternatively the staff should inform guests about the camera. We covered it with a slipper. |

Gülhanepark Hotel is a very good value for money hotel. Small but comfortable near to everything (Ayia Sofia, Sultanahmed, tram). The stuff is very friendly (especially the lady in the reception) and ready to help at anytime. Although it is at the centre of Sultanahmed, is at a very peaceful and not noisy neighbourhood. We didn't try the hamam and the massage. If we would return in Istanbul, we would stay there again. Breakfast is decent as well! P.s Keep your eye on the taxis, the most of them are trying to steal you at anytime. Insist to turn the meter on and try the tram, it is next to the hotel and much much cheaper. At the bazaar never give them the money they ask first. Usually the dill is made at the half price or less! The only thing that was a little bit annoying was the noise from the above room we could hear. The lady for a whole night couldn’t let as sleep. She was having a great great time...! We hope that the room above as couldn’t here as, as we did! But finally that was not a major issue! |

We were given a truly splendid room with an excellent view over the park; Topkapi Palace was visible through the trees, and the upper part of Hagia Sophia. From the other window there was a small glimpse of the Bosphorus past some boring buildings! The location was quiet, but only 10 minutes away from the main sights, even for someone with limited mobility. There is a hill involved, but with a tram stop at the bottom if needed. The staff were friendly, efficient, and spoke English. We were disappointed in the Turkish Bath experience; it would probably have been better to have gone to one of the big public baths nearby. |

It was a nice hortel in a historical area. The rooms were really small, but had to learn, that everything is really small in Istanbul. Looking t the building thats normal there. It was clean, and neat. Breakfast is good. All together it was good. |

Hotel personal was very friendly and helpful. Location of hotel is excellent although they may be difficult to find at first but it is very easy once you know it. It is a fantastic location, easy to move. It would be better if they could change bed sheets more often |

The location that is close to the city and its main attractions, very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is also close to the city transport, restaurants and shopping. The view from the windows - a parking lot, some old and dirty buildings. |

Good location for the main sites however a very misleading photograph as the hotel is opposite a temporary carpark down a side street. This is a nightmare hotel for young children ( and the parents ). No cot. No highchair. light switches in the room 1m off the floor ( including the power card which allows the child to turn off the power to the room ). Locks to bedrooms impossible to secure from children opening and the same for the window ( it has a rail across it however ). The lift has a step infront of it making it difficult to get a pushchiar in the lift without 2 people........ |

Good location very near tram stop and important sights in Sultanahmet. Friendly and helpful staff. Good pressure and hot water in shower. Comfortable beds and selection of pillows. Decor in bedrooms depressing mainly due to poor lighting, no bedside reading lights. No hooks for towels etc. in bathroom. Exhorbitant charge for fresh orange juice at breakfast, poor coffee (Nescafe) |

The staff were excellent. Although I booked this hotel on the day at a deep discount, this made no difference to the attention given us. Soner, the manager was a delight who assisted us with every request even to the extent of helping me chase up some visas for another country. Not so much didn't like but slightly annoying was the airconditioning that wouldn't send out cool air and the wall shower fitting that needed repair making showering a little bit of a juggling act. These were minor hassles compared to teh comfort and care we received though. |
