The location was excellent. You can see all the gulhane park from the terrace.room was clean and large.i really recommend this hotel
Great location good staff and food. Clean room and excellent.
Second in that hotel and again was awesome. All the staff were very helpfull the room was large it offers free wifi and the breakfast was incl. in the price. During the arrival they offer free welcome drink. It's 1' from gulhane tram station and 2' from sirkeci rain station. Again i suggest it.
I LIKED istanbul and was looking forward to a comfortable stay in Gunhanepark Hotel having booked it seven months previoiusly. .
.TREATED DISGUSTINGLY - I was shown to my room which was a very small one overlooking a drab disused car park , with no bath, no king sized bed, no sofas. I was told all the rooms are the same .Pointing out their literature on my i- pad and the details of the superior room I had booked and paid for seven months previously, they simply said they hadn,t got one . THEY WOULD SEE TOMORROW . well five days later the room never materialised ,They didnt seem bothered and I was given a 5 euro transfer free to the airport and a glass or red wine. I felt let down, robbed and the staff had no integrity . The photos of the hotel are misleading show the top terrace surrounded by trees when its in fact two streets away=photojournalists photo with the trees from the park some two streets away in summertime showing the tops in the photograph. The terrace was not open .Dead flowers were in the vase outside my room.,Took photos and of the stained carpet too.Breakfast was uninteresting and orange juice was 7 tl more if this was wanted and there was no customer care atall. This holiday was booked and confirmed on 8/5/14 . I was given a shuttle service to the airport free and a glass or red house wine. NO APOLIOGIES, NO CARE, NOTHING DONE. ,NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I was looking forwards to the king sized bed, sofas, big room, bath and good accommodation and ended up in a room approx 6ft x10ft' in a double bed. with a small shower with the shower head up so high it nearly reached the ceiling. DONT GO THERE . They tell lies , they told me all the rooms were alike Good job i knew the difference and had my i pad and confirmation receipt. DONT GO THERE. ...
Walking distance to all the main historical sights & within a two minute walk of 2 tram stops Also provide a good value airport transfer service Breakfast was good and plentiful Reception staff very helpful
Fantastic location, within walking distance and mid way between Eminou (ferries etc) Blue Mosque with Grand Bazaar and Spice Market still within walking distance. Short walk from tram stop.
Breakfast mediocre, charged not only extra for fresh juice but double price of same available in local cafes etc. Complimentary tea in room on first night only, despite being there for 7 nights. Odd it is so cheap. Drinks in minibar overpriced.
The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was a very nice change from the normal basic cold choice, as they had several hot options. They also changed the menu on a daily basis. Had a Turkish bath at their facilities in the basement which was amazing and private too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned daily. Free tea and coffee was also supplied in your room an they also had a mini bar with ok prices. Would definitely stay there again.
The free coffee was the ready made in a packet, however it was the 3 in 1, so if you take it black or without sugar then bad luck. I did ask for some without sugar but was told `sorry we don't have any` Was disappointed as I like a coffee in th morning before I make a move to get motivated :(
Staff were excellent with advise and Knowledge.Location very good and accessable to all historical sites
Position and friendliness of staff
The staff were really very helpful and friendly. The venue was very convenient for where I wanted to be. I have no complaints about the room or the facilities.
No smoking rooms.
Good location, helpfull staff the comfort is very good considering the price you will pay.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room was large and comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was well above average.
I was double billed through a company I did not recognise at the time of booking and I am still trying to sort it with my bank.
Location- It is near to 2 tram stops. Hence, it was convenient to travel by rail and tram from the Aturtuk airport. Shops, restaurants and exchande shops are nearby. It is within waiking distance to the Topaki Palace. Staff is helpful.
Our flight from Istanbul was an early one. We had to leave the hotel at 5am.Generally, in such circumstance, a prepack breakfast is provided. Gulhane Park Hotel does not.
Rooms were spacious and the staff was very helpful breakfast was very good
Only the location was good. Everything else was just too bad.
They claim the double room size is 21sqm on booking.com however the room we got was about 15sqm. Sheets werent clean. There was a weird smell in the room. The shower was broken. The wifi kept breaking. Again on booking they claim you will have breakfast on the roof terrace however its closed and the breakfast is downstairs. Breakfast quality is not good. Highly not recommended
Only the location was good. Everything else was bad
Turkey is known for its cleaniness . This hotel is not. Breakfast was very poor. AC was bad. Wifi was worse. On booking it says the room size is 21sqm. Our room was 16sqm maximum. Doesnt suit travellers with babies at all. The shower was terrible. The furniture was outdated and smelled bad. Everything about this hotel is just not OK and doesnt match what you are promised on booking.com at all! Highly and completely not recommended.
Really nothing ...need to improve the service and stuff behaviour . Thank you but sorry to say it is the worst hotel i saw it in my life .
Room service. Reception attitude. Breakfast . Cleaning .
Location and price
No smoking in the room
Drainage bad smell, rooms are not clean, Wifi is bad and room service is not 24 hours
The location was perfect , in the mid of the touristic zone with all attractions and shopping areas in a walking distance . Despite being centrally located , the hotel is in a quiet street which is exceptional in a city like Istanbul . The staff were extremely polite , friendly and helpful , especially Yousuf . I was really impressed by the staff politeness , to the extent I never found in any other hotel in any other city or country . The breakfast was very rich . All in all it was a pleasant stay . I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others .
The room was clean , but the big trouble was in the towels and bed duvets , very old , stained and the white color turned to brown . For 150 euros per night you expect clean new towels , not old and over used . I really hope the hotel management take this comment into consideration .
This is the ideal location if you want to be in the middle of a lot of attractions. They proposed to book a tour on river Bosporus. Negotiate for best price :) They where very helpful to find special places in the city.
When we checked out they wanted to charge us for something from the minibar what we definitely didn't have. When we insisted they said it is okay.
The Man in the reception offered us a breakfast while arriving at 09h00. Then he gave us a room at 10h00. I was nice from him because we were traveling the night before.
the internet signal was weak in the room
Located away from busy traffic, but close to main sights of Istanbul. We enjoyed walking in Gulhane Park early in the morning and through the park grounds to Topkapi Palace and other places of interest.Staff were excellent.
