Gulhanepark Hotel  

The hotel is very good located, the rooms are large and clean, personnel is kind and polite. You can reach everything by foot. The hotel has more than enough city guides and maps for free. Breakfast is rich, although a bit uniform. Special thanks to the most polite stuff Veysel and to the most friendly one Irfan!

It's in the city centre and really close to all major places of interest.

The wi-fi didn't function well (the signal almost non-existent) and nothing changed even after telling the staff about the problem. The housekeeper obviously forgot to wash the shower cabin after the guests who were staying there before us. But at least we had it cleaned after leaving a note to the housekeeper.

While it maybe close to the sites, it is not in a very nice neighborhood, especially at night there was nothing around and it didn't seem very safe. The rooms were ok, good for real budget travelers but if you are looking for something a little better than budget, there are better places.

good location near the tramway, clean and comfort

The staff were very helpful and always available to offer advice on anything and everything we asked about. The location was excellent and children (son aged 11, daughters aged 9 and 8) had an absolute ball to the point where they were feeling like the neighbourhood was their "home" by the time we left. Would certainly stay again if we were ever lucky enough to go back to Istanbul and would definately recommend the hotel to families with children of similar ages. Main plus for us was the location.

Two downs: 1. First night we had to call down to reception to "complain" about the noise from the room next to us. However, no sooner had we phoned than we heard reception calling the other room and they immediately ceased the noise. Another "family" in that room with roudy children who perhaps did not realise how easily the sound travelled between rooms. Every other night (including two more with them next door) were fine. 2. Size of the room. Extra bed was put into room that was really more suitable for 3 or possibly 4 making it a bit of a squeeze. However, as we were only in the room to sleep it was not really a bother but if you were looking to spend longer in the room with 5 it could be a concern.

It was convenient to the cities main attractions - within walking distance to all in the old city. It was close to the cuise ship terminal where we went following our stay there The staff were all friendly and helpful It included a very nice buffet breakfast

Staff very friendly,very good location,good facilities and good value for money

The hotel is in a great location for those are looking for major atractions of Istanbul. The service level and cleaning well appreciated.

Superior rooms of the Hotel was quiet large with spacious bathroom. Location of the Hotel was great with easy access to tram station and with waking distance from Ayasofia,Blue mosque and Topkapi Palace.The view from the terrace where the breakfast was served was great.The variety of breakfast was good and they changed the menu almost everyday a little bit. The staff of Hotel were very kind and friendly specially Mr. Bayram at reception who has a great sense of humor and helped us a lot. Also Matin was very helpful and kind. The general manager of the hotel Mr. Soner Onal was also very kind and he drove us to the airport by his own car in a heavy traffic(Special thanks to him). All in all we had a pleasant stay in Gulhane Park hotel and we would like to stay there again.

Our room view was not good since it was at first floor and the windows open at a car park area. I believe only rooms in 4th floor may have good views of the park. We were always late for breakfast(10 Am) since we stayed out late and my favorites was always finished and they didn't refill empty dishes.

Room very clean. Nice breakfast. Nice position (just a few walking minutes from Top Kapi, Blue Mosquee and Hagia Sophia. Very close to Gulhane tram station).

As requested, the staff added one extra bed to a for-people room. Thus, the room was very full and there were not enough towels, but we where warned in advance. It was our choice. Despite the good position for visiting old Istanbul, the location of the hotel is just in front of a ugly car-park, which spoils a little the view.

the location was excellent and one of the best in sultaneahmet area ...very quiet ..great view from the terrace and great breakfast with typical food but doesnt offer a lot of choice ....i highly recommend it

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location close to major Istanbul sights and tram, nice and clean rooms. Very good value for money.
