The location of the hotel is good, it is comfortable, well furnished and the food is good (although I have to admit there are a lot of 3 star - hotels in TR with better and more diverse breakfast and dinner.
The minor issue was the cleanliness of the internal swimming pool. Dirt was visible on the floor around and the water in the pool was cold. Major issue - attitude of General manager of the hotel. Upon our arrival we were requested to pay our stay in advance with the explanation that this is the hotel practice. Such requirement was not shown anywhere in the booking confirmation and we refused, especially when we planned to have some additional expenses. When there are special requirements like this, they have to specially marked. And this IS a special request in contrary to the staff claims that this a very common practice. We are traveling in a lot of countries, with booking or via other agencies, on business or for pleasure and it is for the first time me and my husband and our friends (couple too) see such a uniquely silly requirement to pay the stay in advance! Staff at reception desk became bigger and bigger, a man joined outside the desk in the mean time, but there was actually no constructive dialogue. The staff was just keeping to repeat that this is the hotel requirement and nothing else. I am really amazed to see such bad attitude in Turkey, famous with it's hospitality and the very developed sense for trade. Finally, the man standing outside the reception just said that if we do not want to pay in advance, we can cancel our reservation. And it appeared that this was the hotel manager. He did even not show a simple behavior, presenting himself! I cannot imagine that an owner would employ a manager, who does not care of the satisfaction of the hotels guests, who does not care of their stay. This is total lack of understanding of the responsibility of this position and of the business in general, absolute lack of hospitality. A guest who is satisfied with his/her stay, is very likely to come again, to recommend the hotel to friends and colleagues etc. and of course - in opposite - if dissatisfied he/she will make a very negative reference.
