Has Konak is a family-run hotel by siblings Serpil, Filiz, and Ismail. Last year I stayed at 4 different hotels in Cappadocia, and when I visited again this year, Has Konak was the only hotel from last year that I stayed again.
Their exceptional service and friendliness set this hotel apart from others, and they genuinely care to make your trip enjoyable. Staying at Has Konak feels like visiting old friends. In fact, they were my first real friends I made in Turkey last year despite staying just one night. I've kept in touch with them on Facebook, and it was so great to see them again this year and I had a wonderful time.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable to stay, and in the morning you can see the balloons out the window. There is now a beautiful cave suite room available as well.
The location is amazing with a panoramic view of old ruins, valleys, other towns like Göreme, Çavuşin, Avanos and Ortahisar, and Mt Erciyes in the distance. Uçhisar Castle is behind the hotel and a very short walk away. Uçhisar is my favorite town in Cappadocia along with Çavuşin because of the picturesque surroundings, and it is not crowded with tourists like Göreme.
The included breakfast is great with generous portions. If you would like you can have a special homemade dinner prepared for you at extra cost, which I loved because there is no set menu and you get to try different Turkish food each time.
All in all, Has Konak is a hidden gem of a hotel in Cappadocia. It deserves a special mention for the ways Serpil, Filiz, and Ismail go beyond your expectation to make your trip to Cappadocia unforgettable. I very much look forward to seeing them again next year.
