Such an amazing view of the Golden Horn and out to the Bospherous. Easy walk to Sultanehmet Square. Non commercial part of the old city.
In contrast to other big hotels, the HHK hotel is a small and comfortable hotel. The personel is kind. The small but yet lovely swimming pool and the magnificent view made our stay in the hotel very pleasant. The authentic style of the hotel and the rooms and the very helpful staff are a plus!
For some the location might be a problem. It is located in a run-down neighborhood. Nevertheless the hotel is magnificently restorated and located on the top of a hill. The view over the Golden Horn and the city is magnificent.
The most impressive aspect of my visit was the quality of service by all members of staff. They were all extremely attentive and very, very helpful. The terraces and the pool-side offered gorgeous views of the Bosphorus and is a delight.
The swimming pool The views The staff The food
The first impression of the neighborhood (once you get used to it, it is more than fine, and very safe, they told us)
this boutique hotel is hard to find but well worth it once you do. Located in an original old neighborhood it is only a 10 minute walk from the grand bazaar. The staff are very helpful & the building is very unique. The views & pool are special.
Based in a xix century wooden Otoman mansion, with a beautiful terrace facing the Golden Horn and a small swimming pool, it is a nice place for the relaxed atmosphere in the middle of Istanbul's historic quarter. It's situated at 5 minutes walking distance from Suleymaniye mosque.
We supposedly caught good deal from Booking, not unexpensive though: 100 euros per night for a standard double room. We, thought it would be a special treat for the end of our vacation in Turkey. Sadly, we ended up getting a room just in front of the entrance desk (meaning two metters away from it), so we could hear every conversation and telephone call from the room. The person who welcomed us and gave us the key couldn't help telling us we got the best standard room because "we would be so close to them". Sarcasm made me even angrier. The room was ok, and I guess other rooms are even better, but I would suggest not to choose this kind of deals from high-end boutique hotels as you will end up getting the room nobody wants. Besides, the area where the hotel is it's really interesting in terms of architecture, but still really poor and full of old crumbleing houses. No problem by day, but it gets a little dark and scary at night.
Very good value for money Near all historic sites Warm welcome, very kind staff Good breakfast Lovely, small pool offers a nice break on hot days
Neighborhood is a bit run-down but safe
Absolutely loved our stay. It is central to everywhere and is impeccably furnished. The staff are so accommodating - like a little family. The view from our room (302) and the terrace was breathtaking! We had to stay in Istanbul for 19 days for medical treatment and being at the HHK made the whole experience such a pleasure. We got so used to the place we were sad to leave.
The hotel is based on a hill. It can be difficult at times to walk up there especially after a day's site seeing in sweltering heat. However, once you get through their doors it's so worth it!
Incredibly helpful and friendly staff
It's tricky to find, even for local taxi drivers
We came from Paris for few days in Instanbul as a couple, looking for both visits and having rest. HHK hotel is just a very pleasant place to stay, with an ideal situation in the old center, nice and clean rooms very comfortable, and a very nice staff and welcome of a very good quality. The breakfast could be better but you take it on a terrace around the pool with a beautiful view, and it's included. Without any doubt, an adress to be highly recommended with a very good qualiry-price ratio. And I'll recommend it to my friends.
Extremely friendly staff, fantastic view over to Bosphorus, nice room, hotel very well decorated in old style.
The wifi signal in the room was weak but hey, you're on holidays! Be aware that the hotel is located in a hilly area.
The staff, location and charm of the hotel were excellent. Evenings on the terrace watching the sun go down over Istanbul were a lovely finish to a great day of sight seeing. We will definitely stay at HHK again should we be lucky enough to visit Istanbul in the future!
price, view and staff
location. certain your in the slums
+ view from the terrace + walking distance to most tourist attractions + beautiful mansion + professional staff
- dodgy neighborhood
Room (size, extra comfort bed, good wifi, nice bathroom and dressing room), view, terrace, staff, pool and the house itself.
The steep road from metro station or from the nearest tram station to hotel.
There was nothing about this hotel not to like
The area around the hotel has seen better days....
The staff were excellent, the view of Istanbul off of the pool, lounge and terrace areas was amazing. The location was central to all the sites in the old city so it was extremly easy to walk everywhere.
The location is very central but situated on the top of a hill in a relatively rough neighbourhood. That said, at no point in time did we ever feel unsafe. I would not reccomend the hotel to anyone who was not okay with hiking up a bit of a hill at the end of the day.
The staff were absolutely fantastic - thanks to them all for making my stay so enjoyable.
Absolutely everything this is the best kept secret in Istanbul I would recommend it to everyone wanting an amazing stay it's situation is perfect and views to die for, thank you for a wonderful stay
Very friendly multilangual staff, fantastic breakfast, great atmosphere, nice view over Istanbul.
Great room, totally adequate; view from terrace awesome, staff incredibly friendly and helpful; I have already recommended it to a friend who will visiting there in August!!
"Antique/rustic" door locks difficult to operate.
very pleasent workers
some difficult to find
The Staff were very freindly
Location is very poor, on a very steep hill near very poor housing
When we chose this hotel we did only because we thought the rooms looks nice. This place actually made our holidays the best we could hope for. First of all the hotel is located in the old city. I reckon most people prefer Taksim sq. but I can tell you that staying in the old city is better as it’ll give you the true taste of Istanbul. We arrived after a long journey from the Asian airport. Apparently there’s a new bridge that takes you straight to the hotel. Because it’s only a few months old, the maps aren’t updated so you’ll see that bridge only on the metro map. When we arrived a lovely lady name ____ took us up to the balcony where you get to see all of Istanbul. It was a fantastic moment. She set with us for about 15 minutes and explained, with a map, where are the best sites in all of Istanbul. That cleared a lot as we didn’t get to research to much before we arrived. She gave us important information and all the available tourists options. The hotel is located up the hill so you should be patient when climbing up to the hotel but again, the metro station is 5 mins away and the attractions of the old city are 10-15 mins walking which is great. The hotel is a reconstruction which means you get to see feel the old but look at the new. The room includes everything you want and more, very comfortable bed, a sea view if you choose so, a terrace that let you watch all of Istanbul, a swimming pool, a tv, A/C. Breakfast was modest yet generous. The best part of the trip was the staff - this hotel is only 21 rooms which makes it intimate and personal. The staff was there 27/7, always smiling and happy to help. The hotel offers many attraction but you can get picked up and dropped off the hotel (Like going to the Hamam or a sail) which was very helpful. I believe that Istanbul and it’s people is the main reason we had such a great time but the hotel had a substantial part as well.
Location is excellent. I like the fact that the hotel is not in a tourist area. It's very central, views are spectacular, and once you get your bearings, it's easy to navigate. Our room was great, with a view of the Golden Horn. Staff, especially Aca at the front desk, couldn't do enough for us. We'll be back!
