눇We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very kind, always greeting us and asking how our days' activities were, and also helpful in arranging airport transfers to and from the hotel. The room we stayed in was a very nice cave suite, the beds were comfy, the room was well decorated we liked having our own little outdoor terrace as well as the roof terrace which was shared with the other guests (great views over the town from up there).
Just a few things about this hotel that you should know to expect, as some other guests have unfairly marked as negatives:
1. It's uphill - yes, like much of Goreme, this hotel is built into the hillside (hence its name). The walk from the tiny town centre is no more than 10 minutes, and it's not particularly steep. It DOES afford you great views of town, and you get to stay in an actual cave room (part of the Cappadocian experience), making its location really quite perfect.
2. The room is a cave - yes, an actually cave. This means that you are surrounded by layers of stone and although the wifi is reasonably reliable, it can drop out occasionally. Outside on the terrace the reception is perfect. But a trip to Cappadocia is all about enjoying the beauty and and absolute abundance of activities in this region, so we didn't find a need to spend much time online anyway.
3. Directions - the streets are not well signposted in Goreme. However, if you are not delivered straight to the front door by a transfer service or you walk into town and can't remember the address, just remember that every hotel in town is allocated a number. The town is divided into coloured zones (red, blue, etc) on signs located literally everywhere which direct you to your accommodation - this hotel is number 83, located in the Blue Zone.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Goreme. The hospitality of the owners was very much appreciated and the rooms were traditionally 'Cappadocian'.
