The hotel is excellent. Location is extremely good - it is only 5 minutes walk to Sultanahmet square, Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. Service is also perfect – clean rooms, good breakfast. Hotel staff is very nice and friendly. My special thanks to Mr. Samir for everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to come to Istambul for holiday or business.

The breakfast is in a very beautiful place with great view and many options for good breakfast. We loved the view and the quietness of the area. Also it is place in a great street, near to center of Sultanahmet. We also liked very much the attitude of the personell and their polite way of treating us.

The location was excellent, in easy walking distance of the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. Very nice neighborhood and a great shopping arcade and many restaurants nearby. We thought we had reserved the hotel May 4 thru May 7. When we returned to the Hippodrome Hotel at 11 PM on May 4 after touring Troy all day, we were informed we did not have a reservation for that night, The manager had asked the maid to remove/pack up all our possessions which had been left in our hotel room, and he said that we would be charged an extra amount beyond the normal room cost for staying an extra night (May 4). (They said they had a room for us). We discovered that our luggage and carry-on bags had been set out in the hotel's public area all day (not in a locked store room). We concluded that the reservation service had made the mistake in the number of nights we had actually reserved. We had not noticed this mistake. It is too bad the person in charge at the hotel desk did not say anything to us when we left the hotel on our Troy excursion at 6:40 AM that day. As it turned out, after we discussed/explained the situation regarding our reservation with him, the manager did not charge a penalty for staying an extra night. Also both rooms we stayed in at the Hippodrome Hotel had been smoked in. The odor of smoke was obvious. It was especially obvious to me because I am allergic to cigarette smoke. I asked for a can of room spray/deodorizer but was not given one. The hotel is in a very convenient location, in a very desirable neighborhood.

Perfectly located amongst the principal attractions in Istanbul. The room leading to a private terrace with a majestic view of Bosphorus bogazi and the Marmara sea. The personnel was friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every single day, towels renewed. Breakfast is served in another hotel nearby, variety was reasonable. No coffee available in the hotel; room is not equipped with a coffee-maker as advertised, just a hot water jug. Bathroom was not perfectly clean - there was mold all around the corners on the bath floor.

Central location but nice and quiet place close Hagia Sophia. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. Very good breakfast on the terrace with nice view over Bospohorus, Sultan Ahmed Mosque and Hagia Spohia. Many good restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

The staff were very helpful and the family room was a perfect size for the four of us. The room was very clean as was the bathroom and there was plenty of hot water and clean towels every day. Breakfast was a very short walk down the street to the Azade hotel on the roof. fabulous views and really good breakfast with lots of Turkish specialities as well as the usual buffet offerings. Location is perfect for all the sights in the old city, well within easy walking distance. Lots of restaurants and shops in the surrounding streets for all budgets. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a medium priced hotel in a good location very picturesque streets. Bathroom could do with updating, it was looking a little tired as were the bed covers

Located in the center of the old city. Easy access to tramway. The terrace overlooks Marmara sea. The breakfast includes a wide variety of local food. The internet was available only on the first day.

The bed was comfortable, the room large. The room was warm, despite the blizzard outside. We stayed in the Azade Suites, opposite the Hippodrome hotel. We had a basement suite, very comfortable and well appointed. My only complaint was the noise from the reception desk, which was directly above our room.

During my 5 nights stay at the hotel, I was very happy because the staff was very friendly specially Mr Samir he is one of the best & very Kind. even the hotel manager was very good as well. they makes you feel at home. The hotel is quiet & nice, very clean. the only problem you can hear other guest talking in the other rooms talking. The breakfast super good but I have to walk to opposite hotel which owned by the same owner which is not a big deal just few meters away. The hotel located in a very good location, the hotel near all the tourist attraction, 5 minutes walk to Blue mosque and aya Sophia. 5 minutes to the train station, as well near the sea. I really advise people to stay at the hotel.

It"s very near to all important historical monuments of Istanbul and near to tram. Last day they changed us room, and sent us to another building of the same hotel. The room was unbelievably small and under the road- a kind of basement. Two persons cannot move at the same time inside the room! We paid for this cage same price like the very nice terrace room we had in the other building previous days! And it was la low tourist season, imagine what happens in high tourist season!!! When we complaint they said there was no other room and one free normal room costs 100 Euro per day!

Location is very close to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and other places in Sultanahmet area. The staffs are briliant, although there were only 2 persons that working along our stay in 5 nights. The restaurant for breakfast is located on roof top in another hotel operated by Best Western just across the street, with good view to the sea. The room is typical tiny rooms in European central districts, where we can hear sounds from another rooms. But it is reasonable, just be careful with our children activities inside the room.

The staff was great. We would like to say that Samir went way beyond in helping us pick the best locations for dining and some excursions we went on. He undoubably saved us quite a bit of money and stress. We were cold the first night because we didn't know how to run the air conditioner/heater. I think it should have been demonstrated to us upon arrival. Although probably common in Europe it is not in the us. When booing the room I chose the 3 room family room but upon arrival was given a 2 room family room. Not a big deal but not what was booked according to booking.com website.

Very good hotel located close to the Blue Mosque. The staff was very helpful and kind on our arrival, as well as during our stay. Breakfast was excellent, with an assortment of typical Turkish food. Bedroom was large enough, quiet, seemingly tidy, beds were comfortable (separate beds) and the heating system worked properly. The only thing I would complain about is that breakfast is served at another hotel on the same street, a few steps away from the Hippodrome. It is no big deal, really, but not ideal.

The location is good, I can see the blue mosque from my window. Room is a bit small but comfortable.. Reception staff, Sameer is very attentive to our needs.. Great breakfast and great view!! Although breakfast is at another building.. There's an afternoon tea time as well at the hotel lobby bet. 3-5pm.. ;) The fact that we have to go to another building for breakfast.. Also, there wasn't any lift at our hotel, "Apart hippodrome"...

Actually the location and cleanliness of the rooms were quite good. We were dissapointed with the staffs. We came to the hotel at 7 am. They told us to take a walk while waiting for time to check in. When we came back at 3 pm, the staff told us that we were late, ang there were no 3 double rooms as we had ordered before ! So we got only 1 room at the building and 2 rooms at the other building ( 25 m away ). The other building has narrow entrance, narrow stairs and no elevator ! We refused . Then suddenly.... 3 double rooms were available. We thought the staff tried to cheat on us. They failed !

“This new and small hotel was fantastic in every way. We enjoyed the family suite (difficult to find in European hotels); the cleanliness was superb; the layout of the rooms while compact was comfortable and the decor was tasteful. The staff was super helpful at all times. The location was excellent, permitting us to easily walk to all of the sites. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Istanbul.” Andrea, Belleville |
