- impossible to reach by car (was not told in my correspondence with the hotel) - staff in charge of email correspondence a bit sloppy (was sent 3 times an offer for airport pickup after I specified we will be arriving by car & not needed it) - TV was broken and we were promised it would be fixed the next day. Never happened during our stay (we didn't miss it, but an unkept promise is an unkept promise)
- good location - small but clean room & bathroom - nice breakfast - ok staff attitude (not very enthusiastic, but not sour-faces either) - car park on the next street
very dirty, tiny rooms, staff and manager are really bad.
Very small room, no space for luggage
Staff very helpful and friendly Location is very good
I booked for double bed coz just myself and when I arrived they gave me twin bed room and it's so small I didn't sleep at all and they said they don't have other room to give me .
The staff very friendly
Bathroom is very small.
it was so noisy small room
breakfast was great
The building is quiet old as every building in this area.
The hotel is located near all the tourist attractions (max. 10 min. on foot). The stuff is friendly and helpful. They helped us with the check-in for our return flight (printing the boarding pass for us) and gave us all the information we needed. The breakfast was rich -there was a variety of foods such as cheese, eggs, sweets, soup, olives....... Especially Shorena, the girl who was responsible for the breakfast, the tables etc. was so very helpful, friendly and sypathetic. All in all it's great value for money.
View from breakfast room was great. Stuff was very friendly.
would have preferred a single bed with room to move! TV wasn't working properly, fittings in bathroom were broken & precariously holding in place a glass shelf under the mirror & the breakfast was grim. I saw other rooms on second floor which looked much more spacious so perhaps just insist on bigger room where possible.
Loved the location. Quiet room.
Hotel location is very convenient and at the heart of the city. Cost is good. View from terrace excellent. Staff carries your luggage to the room, since there is no elevator.
pretty loud (esp. other guests) due to thin walls; small room but since we were out all day that did not matter
The location is fantastic and the staff very friendly, breakfast was good, free Wi-Fi, overall a really good experience
WiFi was on & off.
The location was really great, many reachable places by walking distance. Wonderful fresh Turkish Breakfast every mornings!!!
Our non-smoking room contained strong smell of cigarete smoke. One evening only very hot water was flowing in the shower with no possibility of regulation. When leaving early to the airport there was no option how to get breakfast in spite of it was included in the price - at least package with sandwich would be appreciated.
Very good position in the centre
Location, wifi and staff.
For breakfast only one and same salami three days. They can think about that....
Nice location, nice people....
My main complaint is the use of timers and motion detectors to control the lighting in the hall/stairways. I applaud this practice in theory but in this hotel I often had to walk a few steps down a spiral staircase in darkness and try to wave my leg in front of me to get the light to go on. Also bathroom was a bit cramped. I had to straddle the toilet to use the sink.Minor issues.
This hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is outstanding. I would stay here again.
Washroom was small. Not a hot breakfast. Tv dish was useless because of language
Staff was good. Hot choclate was good. Clean rooms
We stayed in Istanbul in February and there was bad weather. It was cold in the room when we checked-in, they turn on heating at about 16-17.00 every day and at day time it's switched off. Bad smell in the bathroom and also very cold.
Room cleaning and towels changing every day, very central location. There is tram stop nearby, shops and cafes.
Good location, near Topkapi and mosques, Marmaray and Galata bridge. Great view from restorant terase. Rooms were worm and clean, not so big but if you are in Istanbul you want to be out not in room. Staff is pleasent and there to answere all your requests. We will came again definitly.
Not a real big deal, but the breakfast was in the other building of the Hotel.
We were really early in the morning. It was cold and we were tired from travelling. Although checkin was in the afternoon, the staff tried to arrange a room for us anyway, and they succeeded to do so. We were so thankfull.
Total impression: I will definitely stay here again, if I've got a chance. I rented a room in Hurriyet with booking discount and the price was really amazing - like 90 euros per 4 nights, it's low even for Istanbul. And for this money I had a really nice place - a tiny one, but nice, with all facilities included (from a hair-dryer to a safe and a fridge). LOCATION is AMAZING. Before this I stayed close to Divan-yolu (center of Sultanahmet) and in Kumkapi (south part of Sultanahmet). And Sirkeci is the better option. Very convenient to get from airport by metro\tram, easy access to boats (7 mins to Eminonu) and any part of the city. At the same time it's like 10-15 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. STAFF was really nice too. At check-in I paid more for my room more then I needed (by mistake with booking and currency) and I even didn't notice this. But the next day administrator gave me back money and explained all the situation)) It was a nice surprise and a great honesty)) YOU NEED TO KNOW. People write in reviews that rooms are small, and that's absolutely true. In all budget hotels in Istanbul rooms will be very small, even if the information in your booking says otherwise. (ps you may have a big room in some 4-5 stars hotel, but it will be a pricey deal). In my room there was almost no free space at all, but a big and a comfy double bed (I asked for it). I don't know how the other rooms in this hotel look like. As I was travelling alone and booked the cheapest room, absence of free space wasn't a problem. I had what I paid for. BREAKFAST: lots of people write that breakfast was poor. I might say it's nice for the price. I stayed at two another hotels (with 8.5/10 rating on booking.com and more expensive prices, btw) and there was no breakfast included at all. Here you may see basic vegetables, sweets, two kinds of cheese, milk, muesli, yoghurt, eggs, etc. So it's simple but enough.
