Helpful staff, good location and a real value for money. This is that kind of hotel that you're keeping coming back because of its friendly&safe atmosphere. In evenings we were allowed to go upstairs, on the terrace, make some tea&coffee for free of charge while watching tv as long as we wanted. You can say that I'm now a loyal to Kaftan hotel client. The rooms are small and noisy: these are the two things mostly mentioned when it comes to negative things about this hotel. But not for me. Rooms are ok if you're planning to rest, take a shower and watch tv in late evenings. The noise is coming mostly from the railway near the hotel. As I was told, this railway is going to be closed in the nearest future due to an underground tunnel that is under construction right now. Anyway, after long walking tours the only noise heard by me was from my snoring. |

Was pleasant to stay there, welcoming hosts. It is ideal for young groups with outside activities. The inconvenient was related with the room dimensions (too small for 2 persons with 2 normal luggage). I staid only one weekend, but if would be necessary to carry a bigger luggage would be quite difficult due to lack of space in the room but also because it is no elevator available, but the hotel personel helps you with everithing you need. |

the position was excellent only a short walk to many of the amazing sights of old Istanbul. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast more than adequate with amazing sea views from the restaurant. Narrow spiral staircase made it difficult to carry luggage and the room was small. Good for those on a short stay with minimum luggage |

The staff was very helpful and pleasant, it felt like home. The location is one of the best ones if the objective of the trips is to visit the historical part of Istanbul. everything was walking distance! This would be the best things to point out, though all other elements were very good as well: room, cleanness, breakfast, view, price, etc.. |

Seaview! Breakfast on the roof. Very friendly staff. Excellent price/quality. A bit noisy (train, mosques), but I guess that comes with this district of Istanbul. |

clean, good breakfast, good staff, good value for money, we decided actually to stay extra 4 nights. rooms are a little small but not that bad and really very clean. We were however moved later to a new section of the hotel(3 min walk) and i recommend this part of the hotel as the rooms were bigger and even better (new). |

Kaftan hotel offers great value for money. It's located very close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and Topkapi Palace. The staff have been very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was o.k. but the menu remains the same everyday. The hotel's rooms are tight-fitting and just sufficiant for a couple but not for family. It's very good budget hotel. |

The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. The location was also ideal for sightseeing in Sultanahmet. At times, the staff had difficulty communicating in English - this happened most often with the people on the later shifts. The rooms were on the small side - we had a tiny room the first night, but were moved to a more comfortable room the next day. |

The hotel is located just below the Blue Mosque, short walk from the Aya Sophia, Topkapi Palace and other famous attractions. The personnel is responsive and friendly. The problems are solved very fast and without a hassle. The room was clean (and when not, was cleaned up promptly) When the owner told us that our room will have a sea view, he forgot to tell us that we'll have as a bonus an active and quite lively railway just 20 meters from our window and a mosque just at 50 meters with a muezzin who was a very bad singer :) All that makes the sea view rooms quite noisy. We got used to it in a 2 days, but it seems to me that these rooms at least are quite a bit overpriced because of the noise, given the number of cheaper hostels at the area. |

Excellent location, a stones throw away from the Blue Mosque and other attractions, was nice to have a balcony to sit in and the air con worked well, breakfast was good. The room was tiny, as in you couldn't walk around the bed if someone else was in the room. |
