Location, the owner
The location is perfect. The owner of Kale's Homestay is really nice , welcoming and make you feel really at home. I think this is the best place to stay in Antalya . It ' s cheap and has a lot pro , like a nice garden where you can eat and enjoy your stay!!
Very friendly place, we definitely recommend kale's homestay!
Good position, in the old village. Nice drawings on the walls. Katja (the owner) is a person nice and kind.
The room was a bit dirty. The air condition was available only during the day when you are in the main room, during the night must be off. The temperature outside was 30°C and inside the room maybe 34°C, the ventilator wasn't enough and the result it was that we didn't slept for all the night. It was a nightmare, too hot inside the homestay!!
Super friendly owners. Great backpacker/budget accommodation. Clean. Air con in the common area. Would recommend this place but not for a Saturday night in mid summer, or at least book the room with a terrace as it faces the garden.
Stayed on a Saturday night. Hot and humid so had to have windows open facing one of the busier roads of the old town. Fan in the room helped but combined with street noise had a terrible sleep. Maybe got 3 hours sleep. Worst must be the taxi dispatcher across the road, constant two way radio noise, then the usual noisy drunks and small guys with their loud bass heavy music driving through town. If the rooms had air con, then woudl be bearable. Was told it would be ok to park my car in front of the building next door if we left by 8, but woke up at 1:30. to a blue light flashing of a cop motorcycle and a guy starting to write me a parking ticket. so spent the next 30 minutes looking for a park and ended up outside the old town somewhere. Added to this some stupid other guest who thought it was a good idea to put the security chain on the front door, so even though i had a key i could not get in and had to bang loudly and shout to get one of them to open the door.
amazing place & atmosphere garden cozy rooms
The dirtiest ever! We have never, in all our travels, experienced a place as dirty as this! The kitchen zink, the fridge (with old musty food inside), the toilet, the shower! We had to clean everything before using it! Even the kitchen utensils were dirty with old food. Disgusting! The toilet had a plastic concertina door which were broken. No privacy while using the toilet! We tried to talk to the owner about this, but she was adament to let us pay the full amount even if we find somewhere else to stay. And she was very rude about it.
Katja, the owner is the best to welcome you as well at home. Our room had a king size bed with a nice private terrace, you also can go on the roof, but we prefered stay with Katja and her friends in the garden, eating fish and talking about world ;) perfect place if you want to meet some kind people.
Wi fi was great
Though the location is close to the beach, it isn't mentioned that the beach isn't public ( costs 12 liras). It's surrounded by noisy bars and is next to a taxi stop , so it bothers when you try to sleep. Can't close windows ( too hot, no airconditioning) , can't sleep with opened windows - the street is busy all the time. Toilets are ridiculous!! And disgusting! It's shared between 3 rooms and has no door, just some plastic bullshit. I was charged for 2 days, though stayed only one. After i found out what a disaster this place was, i looked for another pensiyon in Kaleici and found much better one for the same price. I totally wouldn't recommend Kale's Homestay 2!
The hostess was very welcoming, on arrivell i got a tour of the hostel and she had good tips and advice for what to do... For friendlyness i give them top score.. the roof terrace was a lovely place to come to rest while enjoying the view of kaleici and the meditaranian sea.. There were supermarkets nearby even a taxi stand
Evrything was broken and dirty.. Pots were filled with food covered with mole.. the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks or ever... the bathroom doors were broken and so wouldn't lock.. and the bedrooms only have locks on the outside so i'd to barricade my room with the ventilator at night... but still i felt a home feeling..so as hippie as i am I didn't let it bother me much..but if you are a bit more peculiar about comfort and cleansiness... i would go for something different... a bit more pricey... what else do you expect for 30liere a night...
- mosquitos - spiders - noise - the toilet ( very very small room)
Katja is an awesome host. She gave us very helpful tips about what to see and do in Antalya. Her place is in the best location in the old town of Antalya. Highly recommend!!
The owner is a super nice German lady, she has local artists designed the interior of the building both homy and chic. The location is quite central, though it is a bit noisy in the night because this is a hot spot. Mattress is comfortable and so is the blanket. Wifi is very fast.
The host is very nice, location is great, I really enjoyed my days in the homestay:)
Great location, walkable distance to all the major spots in Kaleici. Small and easy to meet your fellow travellers staying in the homestay. Katja is friendly and always willing to point you in the right direction, based on your interests.
Although good value for money, I would have expected better bathroom/shower facilities.
The owner is a very nice lady, she also owns a laundry with cheap price just downstairs from the hostel. Good location in the old town. Nice design of the homestay. It has a rooftop which is a nice place to hangout in summer
There was no air con/heater in the room, can be cold in winter. only one bathroom which is a bit small. The electricity was cut off when I was having a shower at night and became completely dark...The next day I asked the other traveler and realized that it was because the air con in the common room was turned on.
